You can also just Extract the INI from the BIG file and edit the INI Directly outside of the BIG file, Keeping it inside the exact same folder as the BIG. That way the INI overrides the one inside the big, and you never have to worry about forgeting to backup, or easy uninstall of the "mod"
Confirmed to work with the Origin Ultimate Collection edition. I seemed to crash as soon as I won, though. Maybe it was a matchup or map specific, or just an unlucky case. Only tested once, anyway.
EDIT: I tried to play against an easy army who I set to use the general this time. Apparently CPU's do not know how to use general leang (did nothing, just an idle command center and tractor. This time it also crashed when I got to the victory scoreboard screen, so I think it has issues with displaying the data of general leang after a match.
Play leang on hard as Super Unit Dare ya Or If ya up to it Toxin (By Far Hardest) Easiest For Me Was General Townes AKA Lazer General
It didn't work for me. She didn't show up as an option when setting up a match.
an example[shockwave]: you play with GLA Toxic and the USA Armor faction has mammoth tanks but you can't unlock them even if you capture their warfactory or command center and build some ... however i did captured one while it was training a mammoth tank but it died right after it got out of the factory =))))

I don't think so it works for First Decade edition because the First Decade was released on 2007 and the original game was released 2003. First Decade is a compilation of all Command & Conquer games dating back 1995 to 2003. I bet there was some changes to the games in the First Decade edition.

Try checking your game version. Mine is currently 1.04. That's the latest update by the way from EA.

Hi . just subscribed. maps added fine and they appear in my 'unofficial maps' great. but the problem is when I play in Skirmish mode the opponents don't do anything, just a bulldozer standing there. how can you actually play the game. Im sure someone here will know the answer. also how can I activate multiplayer as it is a v1.4 unofficial downloaded version

Having issues, it didn't add the BOSS General as an option, so what went wrong?
OK, Scratch that, I found why.
"Having the same issue?"
FIX: Insure that both "Game" and "Game\Data\INI" versions are both edited, as TFD and UC both use that structure.
If the INI folder exists, then the file is most likely hidden. If empty, you may not need to have an edited version of the INI file, but if it don't work, then add the file into both locations.
how to play her in general challenge?
On another note, this is very hard to do, especially if you have absolutely no idea how to do this stuff. The mod version is useless these days, since it only works for the disk version of the game, and the only version of Generals ZH still available is through the Complete Collection on Origin, which is missing a file (most likely on purpose, thnx EA) needed to use mods. From what I gather, the launchers on Origin "cleanse" the game of mods when opened, but does not remove them. Its like a sort of sheet, allowing Origin-ized content to pass through, and catching what isn't normally in the game.
Will it work through a "2 disc" game from the box of "Generals"? Like the Generals and Zero Hour game only or is it the First Decade one?

Boss General won't appear in challenge mode...you have to do it other way

The Boss General can be played in Challenge mode and Skirmish. That's all I know. I have never tried for multiplayer...
Can we make other useful changes with final big?
Try it at your own risk. Editing final big pretty seems okay, but try it at your own risk. Have a back up of the file itself.

Did you get your game from the First Decade edition. If not, then probably it's pirated? If it's pirated, there maybe a problem with the patch or crack file from the provider.

I have mods that unlock general Leang so I don't need to do this. It just seems pointless to do all that stuff because it'd be much easier if someone just posted the edited file.
I dunno. This is pretty neat as introduction to modding. And you're 100% sure the mod does exactly and only the unlock, and nothing else.

i would like a modd or an editor where you can change the rank of any general, like you can see in the boss-general-rank panel, the faction has powerups from china and also from the usa ... i mean a special display where you can unlock all the "requires general promotion" special units and abilities ... for example: the 1 star 3 star and 5 star lines and rows would have all the powers from the 3 factions.
