The Pan-American Exposition was held in Buffalo, in the area now known as Delaware Park, between May 1 and November 2, 1901, and is best remembered for being the scene of the assassination of President McKinley . Edison documented the president's presence and activities throughout the Exposition, filmed the president's last public appearance and mob outside the Temple of Music on September 6, moments after the assassination attempt. McKinley would pass away on Sept. 14; Edison documented his funeral and several commemorations. He also produced a fictional film in which he reconstructed the execution of the president's assassin, Leon Czolgosz: Execution of Czolgosz, with panorama of Auburn Prison (1901).
