Hey girl so excited for you!! I saw where you said you were packing the lollipops for hunger but I brought them too and felt that I needed something more and so I had my husband bring me honey! It really helped with the hunger and is totally safe to bring :)

Alexandra Beuter I know it’s silly but one thing I regret not bringing when I recently gave birth was hand soap (champagne toast from BBW was my fav at the time) i was going to RR very often and if I would have smelled my hand soap I would have felt so relaxed... this is a PS because I already commented on your post (: Coxoxoxo

Alexandra Beuter Did you pack hair ties and chap stick? I know you mentioned you’re scared, but try to breathe through everything and meditate. Breathing and staying relaxed will help your body work with the contractions. You’ll be great! 🥰

Youre so cute and prepared!! I work in Labor and Delivery as a nurse and trust me when I tell you, you dont need more than half of the things ☺️ pack light! Itll actually be more useful in the future when you dont have to carry so much since you’ll have to carry an extra human being out! Maybe I can help out mommies out there to make a video on what you actually need for labor and delivery :)

Use the pad underwear the hospital provides if they do provide it. I didn't realize how much you bleed afterwards and it saved me. Also pack cheap flip flops in case you do have to shower. It saves you from possibly getting foot fungus.

    • @KristyThePooh78
      @KristyThePooh78 4 года назад

Yes, flip flops for the shower. My hospital had disgusting blood looking stains that grossed me out. I think I wore my grippy socks bc I was so sceeved

  • @MariaSegovia

All that is great! I would totally recommend to have another chapstick somewhere else because they tent to get lost easily and also to have several hair bands with you for pony tails, this will also come in handy. Bring a folder with you where you can put all your papers too. Good luck with everything

    HAND SANITIZER.
If you plan on having visitors get a hand sanitizer place it on the side table provided and ask them to use it before they touch baby.
If you dont want to ask them to do it. Talk your nurse. They're more than happy to help with that.
Also snacks! Pack your favorite snacks.

    • @iHeartAddie

Hospital provides hand sanitizer and if the room doesn’t have it, there outside every room

I agree with the snacks. I bought some cookies for the nursing/lactation staff. That was my secret weapon, they were extra helpful to us trying to learn everything before we left the hospital (then also sent us home with plenty of extra stuff that didn’t end up on our bill!)

Meee too! And EVERYONE says the hospital doesn't provide for the Husband but my hospital gave pillows and a blanket for my husband and even though I had my baby in the winter, our room was plenty warm, I was practically naked the whole time. Haha.

  • @voosh22
    @voosh22 4 года назад +17

Consider taking a pair of cheap flip flops that you can toss out before leaving the hospital. Imagine going to the washroom with your socks on and then getting back into the hospital bed with them on....
Also, don't forget hair ties or hair clips to keep your hair back during delivery or while learning to breast feed.
Taking a button down shirt is also a good idea because for the first couple of days/nights you'll want to do a lot of skin to skin with the baby.
My baby girl was born last October so everything is still fresh in my mind.
One last tip, I had also taken the honest company diapers, but at the hospital I ended up buying the pampers brand because they have the wetness line indicator which turns from yellow to blue when baby pees. This was essential for me because it gave me an idea weather baby was getting breast milk or not and how much, but with the honest company brand it was so hard to tell if the baby had peed or not.
    Good luck with your delivery!

    1. Wooly socks and a blanket bc i get cold easily.
    2. I brought a small light to have soothing lighting during labor, but my labor was so fast, I didnt use it. But it was sooo nice to have it in my hospital room instead of having all the lights on. Enough for the nurses to see, but not so harsh. It's a tiny birch tree i got at Michaels. All the nurses who came in commented on how nice it made our room. We use it in our nursery now.
    3. Having a knee length nightgown or shirt was great for me, I got a button down pajama night shirt from Gap body and it helped me feel pulled together but still made nursing easy.

  • @lesliedawson7364

After my daughter I couldn’t wear anything pants or shorts. Gowns all the way. They are way more comfortable and not to freak you out but the doctors and nurses have to check “things” after the baby is born.

  • @maureenoneill4067

You will be fine! 😊🌸 Not sure if anyone mentioned it but its a good idea to install the carseat before you end up at the hospital. Another tip a mom gave me that I loved was to get disposable bed pads for when you get home to keep your sheets nice and its easier than changing sheets if there is any mess. They are in the pharmacy. I also loved my madela bottle warmer later on when I was pumping so dad can do some night feedings.

Great planning and organizing for THE Day. You have pretty everything that I could advise you to bring. Just try not worry too much if you happen to forget anything, you can always ask at the hospital, they usually have certain stuff just in case. Stay blessed.

I was told by a nurse, once they administer the epidural, your labor slows. Also, although you packed a lot of things, it's better to be over prepared. I wish you a quick smooth delivery. May God bless you and your baby.☺🙏

  • @mariavelazquez7532

I had a long labor as a first time mom, so that being said I stayed in the hospital gown until my second day at the hospital. I had also packed two outfits, but i ended up using leggings and a sweater since i had my baby in December. I brought my own blanket and pillow, and i did use my toiletry bag and I did not shower at the hospital i did so at home with the help of my mom. All the other things I packed that were useful were our chargers and phones. All labors and deliveries are different, you should whatever makes you think you need. I hope that you experience a beautiful delivery and birth, it goes so fast enjoy every minute of it!! You got this!

Great video! One thing that I wish I had brought was a chill towel, like the froggy towels that keep you cool when you add water. As someone who is always cold, I will say, right after the birth when I was trying to nurse my baby, I was so hot, I was pouring sweat for like the first 2 hours after birth and wished I had had something to keep me cool

Omg you packed so much 😬 I had a C section and had to stay for 3-4 days and I didn't even pack that much
I definitely loved having a cardigan and leggings and my own socks with grips!
I don't recommend bringing a towel at all, you don't need it. Also, don't bring a boppy or anything because lactation consultants will be in often and they get in the way, plus they always have you use an extra pillow.
Bring snacks for your husband or cash for vending machines

Never feel silly for over packing! It's better to be prepared and put your mind at ease and bring things that will make you feel more yourself after birth! Pack a few snacks for the hubby so he doesn't have to leave the room to find food when you are in labor if he gets hungry. You got this! ♥️♥️

  • @jessicamillspaugh7596
    @jessicamillspaugh7596 4 года назад +2

My advice would be to pack flip flops for the shower. I couldn’t stand the thought of my feet on the hospital floor and it made it easy to slip them on and off when getting in and out of bed, then you can toss them when you leave! Also, pony tail holders are a must for labor! I had someone braid my hair back so it would stay put, but you will want it out of your face for sure.
I am a mom of two, Type-A, overpacker...and everyone will tell you that you don’t need half of this stuff, but it’s all about what makes you feel comfortable and prepared! I made lists upon lists and took everything that made me feel like I had it under control with both babies 😅

I would bring a knit jersey robe just because it can be hard to nurse when you’re pulling a shirt or part of a nursing dress out of the way at first. A robe you can just open up completely. It’s also great for when the nurses check you so often at first. I think I wore two or three of those robes during my stay with nursing tanks and bras. I didn’t wear actual pants until I went home.
Flip flops for the shower and bathroom are also a must but you may be planning on just wearing flip flops to the hospital.
Snacks are essential too! I gave birth at 9:30pm and was starving! All the local places and the hospital cafeteria were closed so I was happy to have some chips and breakfast bars in our bag.
Also an empty bag for all the things the hospital sends with you and for any gifts you receive while there. I brought one of the $.99 TJMaxx shopping bags folded up in my suitcase and left with it full of diapers, wipes, pads, and a couple gifts.
For the bag you keep by you I would add a sleep mask, hair clip, and some headphones. Especially for during labor. If you get an epidural you may have some time to rest and it’s hard to get the rooms very dark especially during the day.
Also don’t worry about people saying you packed too much. It’s your birth and whatever you feel will make it easier on you is what you should pack! Everyone is different! My hospital was about 35 minutes from my house so I didn’t want to feel the need to send my husband back to get anything so I definitely overpacked and probably will again!

Ah! I'm so excited for you! My baby girl turned 6 weeks today, crazy how time is flying already. I had to get a c section because she was so big. She was born 9 lbs and is already 12 lbs. I have watched a lot of your videos while I've been on maternity leave. Good luck to you both, enjoy your precious baby!

I loved my hydro flask. I drank soo much water while i was in labor and its easy to just grab and sip whenever. And plus u can easily use it with one hand when baby arrives. Also cheap flipflops that u can toss so u dont gota bring it home. Also dark towels! And bring snacks that u would enjoy. U can eat it after u deliver.

I didn’t use anything in my bag until it was time to leave just to get my clothes out. Hospital had everything I needed including towels and toiletries for a shower. I lived in the hospital gown and my son was swaddled the whole time.

You are prepared for it all! Tip on the nipple pads, I used the disposable ones for about a month while my supply was adjusting to the baby and her schedule. Then after that I used the cotton reusable and didn't have any issues leaking through unless I went too long without nursing. I ended up with milk stains on a white shirt in target one time and learned the hard way haha! 🍼

Looks like the baby has dropped a little. I'm so excited for you guys. You will be great parents. Take anything you may need for headache , some baby diapers. The hospital charges a lot for the little things. Take some little snacks for if you need something to munch on. Make sure to take a pen and tablet to take notes on , to write down if someone brings you something for the baby. Take time to relax and sleep or nap when the baby sleeps. Can't wait to see him.Love you guys.(all three)

I think you did a great job packing. I didn’t start packing til my water broke lol (6 weeks early). One idea for you, if you remember. I played soothing music on my phone during delivery and it really helped me to relax a bit.

Yay!!! So glad you posted this because I’ve been needing videos to watch to make sure I’m not forgetting anything either!! The only thing I’d make sure of is that none of the body products like your body wash and your hand cream and stuff isn’t highly fragranced so it doesn’t potentially irritate the babies skin! And the lavender spray id maybe research to make sure a newborn can be around an essential oil that early because there are still chemical compounds in essential oils! I also second the comments on a pair of flip flops, hair bands, and hand sanitizer:) love your videosssss ❤️

The supplies the hospital provides for postdelivery r great.... I kept asking for more ice packs for my perineum because it felt soooo good and relieved so I recommend getting those to have at home. But yes hospital provides huge pads, mesh undies, bottle to squirt water (great to continue using at home) huge towelettes, wet wipes. So at home I made sure to have wet wipes, long overnight pads, ice packs, and used my bottle and leftover mesh undies from hospital. I used the big blue and white towels to wipe after shower to avoid getting blood on my towels.

I am so excited for you guys! I have 6 boys. And it is always so exciting for me when there is a new baby coming.☺️ I think you are all pretty much set for the hospital now. I like to pack as much as I may need. I always over pack. But I'd rather have it all just in case.😁 I pray that all goes well and can't wait to see the little one.💕

I’ve been loving all of your videos! You remind me of my sister in law, she was SOO prepared for my nice (baby clothes, gear, toys, etc) and now she laughs because she used just half of the stuff and now being pregnant myself (13weeks) I have nothing hahah and don’t really know what or if I want to start buying stuff 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ would you do a video after the baby comes about the things you bought that were actually useful and the things that weren’t?

Ditch all the pants except for your going home pants. L&D nurse here. We do fundal checks frequently for the 24 hours after delivery. That’ll be a lot of hassle with pants on! Buy some nightgowns to wear with your cardigans/robe. Shower stuff is good but I’ve NEVER seen a mom so their makeup during their stay. But if that will make you feel good do it!

Tips for new moms. You don't want loose fitting underwear because your pads will leak. Tight but comfortable is ideal so you're not leaking blood out. The depends disposable underwear are awesome. With my two other babies I wore the hospital mesh panties and pads the first few days then switched to depends.

I loved everything you packed!! It’s definitely a lot but I’m just like you I thought I’d over pack than under pack. Although, I didn’t use half the stuff I brought. I went in for a normal L&D but ended up w/ a c section. I’d suggest bring flip flops for the shower cause although it’s clean it’s gross lol it’s extra but I brought my own pillow. I got a cheap one from Walmart. It was much more comfy than the flat ones they give you.

Omg totally! I feel the same wearing your house slippers to the crusty hospital then bringing home is nasty! And washing them messes them up! I would not bring my own pillow either! My second baby is due dec 26. All you need to bring is some nike slides. Easy to wash those at home.

I actually really liked the mesh underwear and pads they provided because they were so big and I bled a lot. I did use the adult diapers when my water broke though.
Definitely get some Tucks pads and Dermoplast spray(the blue capped can) for home. Most hospitals provide them. Mine did, but I couldn’t take them home. You WILL need them lol. The Tucks pads are such a life saver. You can just spray the dermoplast on “down there” and then rest a couple of the Tucks on your pad and it is just such sweet relief lol.
You’ll want to get a squirt bottle as well if the hospital doesn’t send you home with one because you won’t be able to wipe yourself for quite a while.

You’re such a gorgeous pregnant woman. Have you ever seen the commercial for luvs diapers w the different type of moms? First kid, you’re so cautious and second kid you’re chill. You remind me of obviously someone w their first kid. People may make fun for packing so much but honestly it’s better to be prepared then to not be because everyone is different and you really don’t know what you’re getting yourself into until it happens. I am for sure going to be the same exact way if I ever do have kids. Makes me happy to see videos like this showing how other moms are just in case I am like that so I won’t feel so bad. You’re gonna do great. Lol ❤️

I also packed a lot for my first pregnancy to be prepared, and I used almost nothing. I laugh at myself looking back because I would have just rather not carried all that stuff. I understand because I am definitely someone who likes to be prepared, but I would try to cut down to more necessities because you don't want to be carrying all that stuff and a new baby! Good luck! You are going to be a great mama! 😊

A few things I'd add would be hair ties, bobby pins/clips, headphones, and slippers. Maybe get a cheap pair you can toss, if your having to walk around the hospital to speed up labor I you may want them. Headphones were a must for me, I made a playlist of some encouraging and meaningful songs to help me through labor. Also, we are like a few days apart!😄

First time I was there for 5 days second time it was 2 days. It’s ok to pack a lot of clothes because you honestly never know. ( I had a c section both times, first wasn’t a planned c section) one thing I did get was my own hospital gown.

Bring an extra memory card for filming and a long charger. You did great for a first timer. Also bring a few regular pads. Some people don't bleed like crazy after two days. I stayed three days with my first two. I was glad to have regular pads. Try always infinity. They're softer and amazing.

Good luck to you!!🥰 I have 2 boys and the only things I used were an outfit to go home in, my toiletries, and slippers bc I had to walk the halls. Oh and cheap flip flops for the shower. I had a c section and was there 3 days. A faja would be great to hold your tummy and some chapstick for sure! For my boys I brought several outfits, socks, mittens and warm blankets. The hospital provides everything else and even sent me home with an extra pack of diapers and wipes. You’re too busy taking care of yourself and baby that curling my hair was the last thing on my mind. Hand sanitizer was available at the door entering my room and there’s a sink to wash your hands too. I didn’t buy a pacifier until a month after just bc I forgot lol my kids really liked the WubbaNub.

I would recommend some hand sanitizer and some cheap flip flops for the shower. A hair tie if you wanna put your hair in a bun. Take snacks that are high on fiber such as prunes. First time going to the bathroom after labor can be painful. Also a light cheap robe that opens in the front is very helpful! It’s super easy to put on, its comfy, easy to open if you’re planning to breastfeed or when you meet with the lactation consultant, and you can also put the baby on top of you for skin-to-skin contact. Good luck girlie! 🥰you’ll do great!

I am looking forward to having a little one and I LOVE watching your videos!! You are so relatable and I too am just a naturally anxious person especially around germs and having my first baby!
BUT I was thinking that maybe taking an empty plastic bag to put in all the things that you used at the hospital so not mixed with all of the clean things would be helpful when repacking to go home. :)
