Oh yrs, The Lift. I used to work in a video store, back in the day, and I always remember the box art with the guy's head stuck in the elevator doors with the tag line "Take the stairs! Take the stairs! For God's Sake Take The Stairs!" 😵The 80s were so cool. Great video!
Psycho II was absolutely amazing and pulled off an amazing twist. Has you completely convinced about something only to pull the rug out from under you and does it TWICE
The best thing with this series, besides the great ambition, is that you respect even the worst of the movies. It is so f*cking tiresome with all the other so-called YT reviewers, who pretent to hate every horror movie--except the very few they love.
Agreed. Nuance is not really a thing for most YT reviewers (regardless of media or genre being critiqued). There is simply THE BEST ever, and THE WORST ever. Nothing in-between exists by some unknown magic. The algorithms reward hyperbole; not quality.
MAUSOLEUM!!!!!!! Holy crap, I watched this on USA Up all night when I was 7 and the demon boobies scared the crap out of me. It took me forever to find a copy of it as I had no idea what the title was nearly 30 years later (its on the you of the toobs) and I love how early 80s goofball elevated horror it is until the wet puppet monster comes out.
House of Long Shadows and Something Wicked are two of the greatest movies of my childhood! Psycho 2 also one of the GREATEST! TWILIGHT ZONE! WOW! THIS WAS AN AMAZING ERA!
That guy didn't play Hannibal in the A-Team. Unless I'm missing something here. I urge anyone to never seek out the footage of what happened on Twilight Zone the movie. I'm not easily shocked but that scene haunts me.
Surprised you knew about 'The Lost Tribe'. I was one of the very few who watched it. It was depressing and most Kiwi films were made in this style. They required government funding in order to make the movie. The government funding committee demanded that certain subject matter wasn't allowed to be portrayed within the film and also what MUST be included such as Farm and sheep quota and everyone needs to suffer some sort of PTSD. No Really. I went to see Psycho 2 at the cinema and absolutely loved it. Got me own copy on Blu Ray. Wait until 1984 and a little film called 'Death Warmed up' (or Dead/Alive overseas) should pop up on your radar. Now that's a 'Great Kiwi Horror Classic'. Stay Tuned.
I saw Jedi opening day, which was also my high school baccalaureate, but I think I went with my mom (the one who got me into horror movies) that weekend.
Movie timeliness one my regular as soon as put out watches love it but the theory thats it's always been like it is now with movies really is not the case n when I saw that twilight zone was on this block figured it was coming lol n no matter how u cherry pick occasional examples once again there always politics in all arts but nowadays when a mainstream movie doesn't have a political message it like a relief not just bc its political but its the same exact message over n over and for me maybe because I think both sides live in there own echo chamber it gets tiring and it would be just as or maybe even more annoying if it was a right wing propaganda bombarding I mean imagine going to the movies in 1930s Germany where the industry was run by the freaking Goebbels. and also using the twilight zone as an example is a major false equivalency bc yeah its the twilight zone the whole point of the twilight zone was almost every episode the message
i disagree. strongly. talking about Twilight Zone isn't cherry picking. i'm watching every horror flick from the '80s and i feel confident in saying that at least half of them, but likely more, are political in nature, or feature a storyline that would be described as "woke" today. hell, 4 movies in this very block would be talked about that way. but on another note : what exactly is the "exact message" that you think almost every modern movie is repeating?
It's amazing that Landis didn't end up in jail over what happened.

The Lift and Amsterdamned are great. The boat chase in Amsterdamned is incredible
The Lift and Amsterdamned are both among the best Dutch movies ever made. Much better than the usual crap they make here.
The opening credits of Amsterdamned are stunning
@@noelephantitis and the theme song at the end is the perfect level of cheese haha
ABSOLUTELY!
Psycho II was absolutely amazing and pulled off an amazing twist. Has you completely convinced about something only to pull the rug out from under you and does it TWICE
"Wild! With an 'e'" made me laugh. Very good. Never seen The Sins of Dorian Gray and you reminded me why despite Michael Ironside and Anthony Perkins
That's why I watch you! I am also committed to the Franco bit. 50 years and going!!
Another great video. Thanks for sharing! I loved Psycho 2 also.
I always used to get 'Mausoleum' and 'Mortuary' mixed up. Didn't help that I thought at least one of them was 'Phantasm'.

Great video, and Psycho 2 and Twilight Zone are my favorites.

Josh, you never told us you were a lounge singer in 83!

I remember seeing "The Sins of Dorian Gray" on TV!
The Lift is very effective. Who isn’t a little afraid of lifts?
Love the project. Keep it up.
I find it funny that this was made by Disney and yet a beheading scene. And Mr Dark ngl is hot
Finally! Someone else noticed the Animal House easter egg reference in Twilight Zone the Movie.
I LOVE THE 80'S PROJECT...
Yes, we are back baby $$
Finally.... just kidding. Always waiting for another entry!
What I would not give to see Peckinpah's SOMETHING WICKED...
That factoid blew my mind.

Love the video but did you make an A-Team joke when introducing Jason Robards in Something Wicked This Way Comes? Because A-Team was George Peppard...
Yeah, I was thinking to myself, "I don't remember George Peppard being in this. And why does he look like Jason Robards?"
LOL, I was wondering about that as well.
Josh. I think I love you! Awesome videos
I did write off Psycho II before I ever saw it. After I did see it though - wow! It was great!
no comment that House of Long Shadows is the last 'Seven Keys to Baldpate' film?
Nice always enjoy these
Some bangers in this one.
Finally bought your book!
Do you think Jason Robards was on the A-Team? You're confusing him with George Prepard.
Thanks!
Not adding a dash of Peppard by mistake?
I saw Jedi opening day, which was also my high school baccalaureate, but I think I went with my mom (the one who got me into horror movies) that weekend.
I love your videos also I despise perverts I'm not calling you one😅
Saw psycho 2 at the movies great flick 😊

Джош сделай обзор и фантастических и мистических сериалов как ты делаешь обзоры фильмов ,думаю это всем понравится
Those movies are on the sci Fi project.
I read Psycho 2 and Psycho House and yeah, they're both awful.
I actually like pyscho 2 the best in the franchise was not a huge fan of the 1st to be honest.

WANT!
I always look forward to you completely mischaracterizing the politics in movies argument for the millionth time

Punctuation, heard of it?.

If You can still remember being in a 80s video store when these VHS were just released. Then you are seriously ancient!📼📼📺🎞⏳🕰🔊🎬📼🤓👾💀
I wasn't even five yet. I turned five in April that year but yeah. It was cool looking at all the cases back then though.
I'm well aware how old I am thanks, ancient is a bit strong though!.
Psycho 2 is my fav Psycho.
