There are two things you missed since they got lost in translation: when she says "...sorry if it splashes you" which in Spanish purposely translates "perdón que te salpique" but she pauses when she says "sal... pique" as Pique es the last name of her ex. Also, she says " she has the name of a good person clearly it's not what it sounds like". In Spanish "clearly" is broken down as "CLARA (clear) ...mente (ly)" and Clara is the name of her ex mistress (now girlfriend).

Hi! Fellow voice teacher here - thank you so much for giving a shout out to her song “Ojos Así”! To say I was obsessed with this song as a teenager would be a vast understatement. The first time I heard it I had it on repeat for a week! 😂 A lot of Americans are lukewarm about Shakira but she’s truly an amazing musician and master of her craft. All her songs are amazing but her her older songs are *chef’s kiss*

Mas sinceramente, ninguém mais segura a Shakira. Em questão de voz, vibe, timbre e principalmente em fazer hit ela dominou. Nota o quão livre ela está com a música e sutis palavras que estavam dentro de si tornou ela o que estamos vendo agora, uma pessoa que confiou tanto que foi enganada ao extremo e percebendo o seu valor, mas se levantou e mostrou a força que tem. En la traducción al inglés se puede perder algunas cosas, por ejemplo cuando dice "CLARAmente no es como suena", está hablando de la amante de su ex que se llama Clara.
Y cuando dijo "perdón que te salPIQUE" es porque su ex es de apellido Piqué.

Listen, the whole point of the song is in the lyrics even tough the music and the melody is so good and catchy. The lyrics is really a good description of the ex and the girlfriend he has now, she created these lines where she divides spanish words and she can use Pique's last name and girlfriend's name (Clara) so people has no doubts who are Shakira referring to. I have never listened a song that is so DIRECT and straight to the point of the issues in the relationship but she tells it like it is. She includes lines like these " you got me your mom as a neighbor, the press at the door and left me handling the treasury debt (meaning the equivalent to IRS in Spain with a 3 million dollars suit) but "we women now we don't cry we just make money). She tells Pique he changed a Rolex (Shakira) por a Casio (the girlfriend) ad later "you changed a Ferrari for a Twingo (very small and cheap car)" Yes, it's a revenge song. She took a hard time for her and used to make this incredible song. Good for Shakira. By the way this one is the best reaction I have found in English on this song.

almost two months later and this song still has gas for fun, I'm still seeing everyone's reactions to see the emotion of someone hearing this epic song for the first time
Unfortunately in the English translation some of the best parts of the song are lost. In Spanish, she makes a play on words in many parts that are lost in the English translation... For example, in the part that says _"Yo solo hago música , perdón que te sal-PIQUE"_ 3:13-3:16 (I only make music, Sorry if it splashes you) there is a reference to her ex. Shakira's ex's last name is PIQUE
And in the part where she says _"CLARAmente no es como suena (clearly it's not how it sounds )_ 3.38- 3:40 , Shakira is talking about her ex's lover, whose name is CLARA.

8:05 If you’re looking for more by BZRP, I highly recommend his session with Snow Tha Product. You may need to look in the comments for translation, unless they’ve added captions since I last watched it. But Snow is a favorite rapper of mine (and I don’t even listen to hiphop much, especially not the newer stuff) and that track was absolutely addictive. She got to show off her amazing skills and flow beautifully, and the music was just so catchy.
