I went here in 1986-88 then moved to Minnesota and graduated in 1989,the red rails in the gym used to shine like new money..so sad now
Omg! Those pools are so freakin creepy!!!
Wooow, this is amazing!!!
Thanks man we really appreciate it!!
I grew up in Gary in the 1960's, and I loved my Hometown. Life was good back then.
My Dad worked at US Steel. He retired in the 1990's after 40 years of working there.
I lived in the Glen Park section. I attended Franklin Elementary School.
If we wouldn't have moved, I would have attended Lew Wallace High School.
Glen Park is located where Broadway and
Ridge Road intersect.
👉"The Steel City Storm Channel"
here on RUclips, is all about Gary, Indiana.
Memories from those of us who grew up in Gary, from Gary's thriving Glory Days to the City as it sits today.
The comments under Storm's videos, from former citizens up to and including the present day citizens, can give you a "living history" of sorts if any of you are interested in Gary.
The videos and comments are better than interesting!!
They are fascinating.
Gary truly is a dichotomy.
The stories from the citizens, take you from one extreme to another. If you would like to see and learn more about our Hometown,
The Steel City Storm Channel is an excellent place to start.
Please be careful.
I grew up in Brunswick. Same time period. Witnessed the urban decay as the demographic shifted (that is as politely as I can phrase it). Often went to Glenn Park. Loved the town through the mid-60’s, it rapidly declined thereafter.
Glad you were not shot there. You have no idea how dangerous it is there 😮
not that bad tbh. place is getting gentrified nowadays
Incredible. Man I want to go on one of these I would have paid money to go to Northridge with you. Dam. Amazing video that auditorium is just crazy
The very first gym is crazy
Old national geographic
Yeah man we’re honestly so lucky to be able to go to places like this it is our passion to witness amazing places and share our experiences
What a dump of a building shame on Gary Indiana city and school 🏫 officials who made this building what it is today s sheer garbage waste land dump of a school
Building shame shame on them 😮😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😮😮
It would be neat if the auditorium was turned into a movie theater/concert hall, and the rest of the buildings turned into apartments or a hotel.
To bad it would be much too much work to revitalize the place
I use to live 2 blocks from there.
What’s the address?
Heartbreaking documentary. Gary, was finally overcome by the lowest strata of society.
Gary=cesspool. I know, I grew up there.
