Me too my friend , and I still do, where the risk is minimal to create any damage to the equipment this is why I prefer doubling up the straps to get the same rating like the chains, if they snap the worst can happen in a scratch or two no other damage. I’m a bit of rebel myself and help others or fix problems on the truck and trailers to get out of trouble and get back safely, all the years of having my own truck and fixing things make me be like this.
