This is both beautiful and majestic Rudy! I love the way you weave in interesting details on the species and background on their local appearances. You area a natural documentarian! 🙌
Dobrý deň Mária, ďakujem za tvoj úžasný komentár. Áno, sovy sú naozaj krásny dar od Boha. Strávim veľa hodín v lese tichom s Bohom a sovami, keď ich nájdem. Som veľmi rád, že vás moje video požehnalo. Boh ti žehnaj. Rudy
Hello Rudy, just came across your beautiful snowy owl video. I live in Ottawa and am wondering where id the best place to photography snowy owl on public land?
Hi Joseph, Finding Snowy Owls this year is tough because Eastern North America is having its worst Snowy Owl winter in about 20 years. There is one young female in rural south-west Ottawa just south of Kanata in the large field at the corner of Brownlee Road and Eagleson Road. She is often perched in cluster of high bare trees on the south side of Brownlee. Go to the corner of Brownlee and Eagleson and turn right onto Brownlee. Drive west for about 500 meters. Stop and look south 380 meters along that fence line and there are the trees. he is often there. There is a worn path along the left side of the fence line where we all walk, so far with the approval of the owner, but DO NOT walk on the right side (east side) of the fence line. We are not permitted on that land. Here is a photo I got of her a few days ago at around 4:00 pm. www.flickr.com/photos/rmp2020/53498727018/in/dateposted/ Good luck, Rudy
@@Rudy.Pohl.Ottawa Rudy, Thank you so very much for sharing the information. I live in Kanata North and I have seen Snowy around ten year ago, but not anymore since the forest was levelled for land development. I shall try my luck with your feedback.
Where should I look this winter?😂 I live in Dunrobin and had a female Barred owl stay on my property all winter! It's a forested /pond / marsh ecosystem here all around me, so not a Snowy place... I heard something about somewhere near Stittsville? But where else?
Hey there JW. No problem, I'll get you plugged in, my buddies and I have been at this for about 13 years in the west Ottawa area. Tell, do you have an eBird account? If not you should get one because by doing quick searches on eBird you can see all the latest spotting info of not only Snowy Owls but most other Owls and cool birds in the area. Let me know if you need any help with setting up. Feel free to email me at rudypohl@gmail.com Cheers, Rudy
Love the slow motion .
