It's a great area. Check out Big Piney (naturally I have a video of that as well). That's the trail that we camped off of in this video. The Piney River runs next to it, and it has numerous areas with small waterfalls along it. It's an excellent trail to camp along.
there's always gonna be a few that will ruin it for everyone. All you have to do is clean up after yourselves. God's country !! Sure would like to join you someday.
Yeah, trashing a trail is one of my biggest pet peeves. I try to always clean up at least a little and leave it better than I found it. I'm always down for people to come along on my trips. Where are you located?
320k is something that jeep owners aren't familiar with... sorry some of us don't have minivan motors in our jeeps 😂😂😂 Inline 6 for the win! Sorry to comment only negativity... been loving watching your videos for the last few weeks
It's all good! Defiant is at 158k now, with 115k of that coming in the last three years, so she's getting up there fast. That minivan motor has already had the top end replaced under warranty though for the dreaded "Pentastar Tick". Andy's Xterra is nothing short of impressive with regards to its durability. I remember when it was still under factory warranty! We just got done overhauling the Xterra some more, so the next video it's in, it'll have all-new toys on it!
It's either called Little Irish or Big Irish creek is a good rough road that's close to Pedlar Rd. Then that area is close to Enchanted Creek Then across the road from Pedlar river rd go up Coffeetown rd there is some more good roads to hit, sometimes the gate is open and you can keep going sometimes the gate is closed
State Rout 60 to right on rt 637 Coffee town Rd go right at the fork on wiggins spring rd. takes you to the Cole mountain trail head at the AT There's a gate right past the trail head sometimes it's open sometimes it's closed. If it's open the that's a nice ride back in there. I've heard of 13 crossings but have never been down it. Have to ride up that way this weekend and see if I can find it!
I just checked back on your channel. I believe I met you just after you guys broke camp on day 2 I was the guy in the 04 Grand Cherokee with the roof rack and limb risers. If your back in this area and you hit Little Irish Creek Rd and your going from the Reservoir up to the Park Way if you keep your eyes out there is stone stacked walls beside the creek on both sides of the road keep a close look out and there is a Mining entrance across the creek on the left. We found it in the fall when the leaves wasn’t out there’s a lot of history back up in those mountains . Also do you know what the brand of swing out tire carrier was on the Grand Cherokee you showed in your video I’m looking for one to put on mine. Thanks and hope we run into each other again.
Hey, man! I definitely remember that WJ! I'll definitely add that area to my list of places to check out. I just finished up the Georgia Traverse yesterday, so I have a lot of video to edit and then some maintenance and repairs to do on the Jeep. It'll probably be at least a few weeks before I head out again. I'll find out about that tire carrier on Jamie's WJ.
@@DefiantOffroad out of curiosity, with that haircut and being out of Hampton Roads, you wouldn't be military would you?? I'm retired Navy. Did several years in and out of Hampton Roads. Just curious.
Yeah it's nothing technical. Just a run of the mill Forest service road. I've got stuff going on that's sort of keeping me off anything technical or rough. It's a great area for camping though!
Thanks! It's a good place to camp for a night or two. The bugs weren't bad at all when I filmed this video. I went back there for a couple of nights back in September of this year and the bugs were sort of bad, but not terrible.
Congrats to Andy and the Xterra hitting that 320K milestone! Great video. I am curious, what kind of tent setup was Andy rockin? Hard to find a good setup for an SUV with a lifting tailgate, thought his looked good!
That looks like a great place to camp. The river is awesome!
It is a super campsite. We'll be back out there again for a first patreon meet up in a few weeks!
Great video! I'm glad to see you back out on the trails!
Thanks! No one's happier about it than I am!
It's good to see you back at it!
Thanks!
We can't wait to get down that way later this summer to explore the area

Defiant is looking good with the new RTT! Nice to see you again 🤙
Thanks! I figure that I've had the thing for 6 months now, so I should probably get some use out of it!!
Thanks for sharing great video! Missed youguys at Moore!
Maybe next year!!

good one! I liked it! That camp site was awesome.
Yeah, it's a fantastic campsite. Thanks for checking the vid out!
Awesome video! It looks like it was a fun weekend. The cameo from darkside off-road was great!
Thanks! It was a great time!

That campsite is great! I checked it out after you showed it in your Big Piney video. I haven't camped in it yet, but it's going to happen soon!

There's one that I wanted to check out, but we ran out of time. It was FS-39e "Thirteen Crossings". Have you ever been down that one?

@jasontaylor9871 let me know if you find it! The MVUM shows it being open

Thank you. The tent is Timber Ridge that I picked up on Zon for around $200. So far I am pleased with it.
What Andy said!
@@MidnightseXterra Thanks Andy...tough to find decent SUV tents.. :-)
Is there or do you know if there is a map showing all the FS roads in Virginia.
Offroad navigation apps like OnX Offroad or Gaia have them in there.
