I have the a6700 and while i sometimes regret not getting the ZV-E1, especially since I learned you can buy viewfinders and mount them on hotshoe... At the same time, the lenses are so much cheaper for APS-C and for the price I could not find anything in FF like the Tamron 17-70 which was my first lens (apart from that...ugh...kitlens). Now I have the 70-350, and have also started buying primes like Sony 11mm, sony 20mm pancake, Zeiss touit 32mm and Helios 44-2. Apart from the lenses I have bought filters, SD cards, a good mic and a tripod. With the ZV-E1 I probably would not afford such a selection of lenses and extra stuff so im happy😊
I bought the white ZV-E1 and FE 2.8/24 G a year ago. The lack of view finder doesn't matter since it never misses focus. Just point it in the general direction of something interesting. Easy.
Don't be in a rush to buy a sony camera. Here's why. Sony introduced the a6300, praised for its features that became popular. Months later, A6500 was announced. A7siii announced, Months later, the fx3 announced. Many a7siii owners were saddened, some even sold their camera.
Except the a6500 was a minor half-assed upgrade that they soon replaced with the a6600. Funnily enough, the A6500 still has a pretty low resale value where I'm from, because it's this "neither nor" model that nobody wants.
NX1 was the first consumer camera to do 1080p 120fps in 2014. That mode was so fun. Before that I had the GH4 which did 1080p 96fps, we used that SO MUCH in so many music videos. Good times. The GH1 did 1080p 60fps in 2009, let that sink in. That camera I still own it, I shoot B-roll on it for fun of it, and no one can tell difference which is hilarious.
What about the ZvE1 vs A7CII ? Same Weight, No 4K120 but can we spot the difference compared to HD120 ? Viewfinder and 33MP so you can crop a lot in the video to get different types of shot and video reframing without losing quality. The big downside is the stab. But lowlight performance is quite the same (look some videos comparison) I have the A7CII but yeah I definitely miss the dynamic stab and the recording red light.

@@BIG_HAMZ Too many compromises for me: crappy screen, terrible rolling shutter and so on. The ZV-1, on the other hand, has a stacked sensor, legible screen in sunlight, great lens built-in, better slow-mo, and it's even more compact. The only drswback for me really is the battery life, but that can be fixed :)
For walk and talk and general walk- around videos, which would you prefer? A Sony ZV E1 or the Canon R8. Is the dynamic stabilisation with IBIS on the ZV E1 better than the Canon's enhanced stabilisation? Thanks.
Hi Kasey, what do you think about sony 70-200 2.8 for wildlife. I have a 70-350 now, but in my local forest it's too dark and birds and squirrels are quite close. And i always can use 2x tc. And its still will be small enough and internal zoom. Same tonies 100-400, but brighter when needed
Having a 70-200 is always a good idea, if you can afford one. But I wouldn’t get one specifically for wildlife since 200mm is really way too short for that. I‘m using a 500mm f5,6 for birding in forests for years now and it works pretty well.
I saw a camera youtuber yesterday that basically said it doesn't matter which camera you buy Its all the user and very very little about the camera, would you agree or disagree with that ? Im a newbie haven't bought one yet but im thinking about a ZV1 or ZV10 likely used.
There's a lot of truth to it and you'll see many photographers/videographers who say as much, but there's also a limit. Having the right tools to get the results you want is important. But you are the creator of the content, and you can make amazing content with even modest gear.
After watching your ZVE1 footage I'm selling all my gear and buying a white ZVE1 and the 16-35 F4 PZ what microphone system do I need so I can talk and it also picks up the actual environmental sounds too. I may want that Sony tripod grip thing too so I'm not holding the camera in my hand like a hobo. Wait wouldn't everyone instantly stare directly at a white camera or do they just stare at the actual douchtuber?
I really like the auto framing mode. It gives you freedom to move around naturally. Love it. I agree with you regarding Tik Tock. I saw a comedian call it You Tube plus ADHD. If you have contact lenses but need glasses for reading, the lack of a viewfinder is the single worst attribute a camera can have. You cannot use the LCD without reading glasses so they would be constantly on and off as you use the camera. 70 is a bitch😂

Rolling shutter on the A7CII is also much worse than on the ZV-E1
The ZVE1 is in a completely different weightclass when it comes to low light. A clean 12800 ISO is something the A7Cii can only dream of.
