    Thank you for the video and am watching more of them (subscribed)! A question for you, assuming you are familiar with Dr. Stuart McGill's work and his book Back Mechanic. If you have any experience with his work, do you have any hesitations about his method? Thank you!! Hip hinge is very much encouraged in his work.

    At 70, and still working as a nurse, I have found it very hard to bend over to pick up stuff. That is a recent development. Good movement with everything else. Thank you for your help.

      Hi Krystal,
      Thank you so much for watching this video!
      Something I teach my students is that it is not what you do in PT offices or chiropractic offices, but what matters is what you are doing the other 23 hours of the day that is going to make the difference. In this program, we teach you how to incorporate certain exercises to apply to your daily life, creating long term change in the body.

    So im 47 and had my first ever severe low back spasm 4months ago after 2months of hard work I felt 95% for the next 2months. Am in excellent shape (gym 5times a wk tennis coach). Similar body shape to you. Tried pickle ball for first time 2 days in a row for 1.5hrs. And though no spasm occurred I feel just as bad as that day 4months ago. Should I just avoid pickle ball for life or are there specific strengthening excersises specific to playing pickle (low athletic stance lots of latteral movement & reaching our quickly) I can use to avoid this issue if & when I play? I do master walking & side shuffle with bands, glut bridges with bands
    Thx!

      Hi Deven, thank you for sharing this information with us, as it helps us understand your situation better. It's great to see your dedication to staying active and fit!
      You certainly don't need to rule out pickle-ball for life. It's common, even for individuals as athletically inclined as you, to have an underused or under-engaged core. Our program can help you in building a stronger foundation by re-establishing a connection with your deep core muscles, which are essential for supporting your spine. This, in turn, can help you return to pickle-ball and your other activities in a way that's centered around a healthier core.
      That back spasm you experienced was like a signal from your lower back muscles, indicating that something needed attention. Learning to move in a more healthy way is the key to addressing this issue and we'd love to help.
      If you're interested, we offer a 7-day free trial of our program that you can check out to see if it might be a good fit for you. Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need further information!

    Hey Ryan, great video. Is it possible to have a lot of muscle in your abs, low back but still mot have proper core balance?

    • @CoreBalance
      @CoreBalance  Год назад +6

      This is a truly fantastic question! The answer is a big, resounding YES. The abdominal muscle group can be out of balance, where the "6-pack" muscle (rectus abdominis) often becomes over-developed/active and compensate for the deeper core muscles (obliques, transverus) which typically become under-develped/active. The 6-pack is designed for movement, while the deeper muscles are the ones that truly support the spine, so you might see how this could lead to back problems. Thanks for asking!
