Oleg Lundstrem Orchestra was recoginsed in 1994 by the Guiness book as the oldest continuously existing jazz band in the world, founded in 1927. He passed away in 2005 I don't know if this record has been broken since then. He even was arrested in the Soviet Union in the forties "for playing jazz", but later he was well recognised
@@PetrLundstrem I apologize, I just got that info somewere in the net and i remember to be impressed by it, but I can't remember were. If it was Wikipedia, certainly the bit is not there anymore. You share the same, name are you a relative? if that is so you must be right, I'm so sorry!
So I wouldn't call what I'm hearing the American Jazz style, however, there are elements of it in this videio. There is some popular music in there, and some silly stuff, but that's because it's supposed to be a quirky, silly video. They executed some very sophisticated rhythms and played in tune. I would say it's different with a Slavic interpretation of American Jazz style music. Here is a sample of Russian jazz composition: ruclips.net/video/GM7JsWNODc4/видео.html
video is based on a very popular european fairytale (minus the dancing parts). it makes sense to me, not scary at all
it is not weird - they are just playing out well known folktale.
Obvious Russian is obvious
Right
first guy looks like the lovechild of Chewbacca and a Dwarf...
The base of plot of the video - russian people fairy tale 'Repka'. (The Giant Turnip).(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Giant_Turnip).

Theyre pulling out the turnip, its a traditional story.
Holy shit
Lovely music, but what a weird video... and that's sort of like the pot calling the kettle black 😅😆
But....they aren’t playing
All hail to the turnip....And
a glass of white wine or fruit-based drink for the lady
This music isn't weird at all... the people in masks on the other hand might give little children nightmares

In Soviet Russia, fake jazz playing folklore dance ensemble annoys you!
You kept listening and took the time to write a comment. That's half retarded.
