panels should be like disney was in 2014: they make an app, you have, say, 3 panel slots a day you can sign up for and 2 waiting list ones. Couple of days earlier it opens, people pick the ones they want to attend. You can see live what panels are full. Then on event day one hour before every panel they see how many attendees signed up and send a mesage to waiting list in order of signup (or maybe first to those who dont have any panels yet). If there are STILL open places that panel appears green on schedule and they allow walk ins. If it's full you know and don't waste time on lines.
@@LynnHermione that sounds great- do they have someone at the panel doors checking each app to id or something? I could see that taking forever though.
Oh hey I know that guy! Looking forward to playing Wixoss again! It was great to hang out with you a bit. Maybe by next time my art skills will have improved! haha
art is a journey and its always fun to look back and see the improvement later, so jll look forwards to it! And hopefully next time we play wixoss my pet deck wont just auto lose to miko 😭
This is too real, btw I was one of the lucky few who managed to get a Ryoko Kui signing ticket at the Kinokuniya booth on the first day (there were only 25 available). The avalanche of people that rolled into the booth shortly after I got it was crazy and apparently artists and exhibitors left their booths to stalk, hide, or loiter around the booth just to get the opportunity. I met an exhibitor who hid in the bathrooms in the Exhibitor hall with a bunch of other people to avoid security just for those tickets. Truly insane...
@@friedcorm I was following a bunch of the drama on the AX discord channels and it did not seem like a fun time. Booths doing these sort of things as a idea sounds like it should work but seeing it in practice (between this and the higurashi booth fiasco) makes me think AX might clamp down on booth purchase = ticket later.
F!SH booth was so great! Amazing artwork! I bought a T-Shirt from them. Also I wish I would hAve gotten the full sized Osaka and Konata poster. But, I got the free sticker instead.

Is there really any point shopping in exhibit hall if everything is industry and all their products are sold online? Without the small vendor its like paying to window shop at the big companies.
@@missingno81 the small vendors tend to just be resellers from the big ones at marked up prices, and better to just buy those items cheaper direct from japan 99.99% of the time. The industry products you can sometimes find scalped figures etc for cheaper or at least msrp. This isnt the usual but 'does' happen. I spend most of my money at the Artist Alley since yeah most shopping in exhibit is over priced or wildly available. There are some smaller vendors in exhibit doing original stuff its just seems usually to be car decals, funko looking things, or "bulma but DD boobs" and not very appealing to me. Window shopping or seeing items yet to come out is really cool though, and as mentioned some items that are scalped (like tcg items or certain figs) can be found at the industry booths msrp. I think the hall is just interesting to walk around and see how crazy the booths can be as well.

I agree with your comments! My only gripe is the parking is difficult because the lots behind the convention center were only available to vendors.
