I've watched virtually EVER Patrice video on RUclips multiple times, so when a new clip randomly pops up I mean it literally makes my soul smile. This was 5 minutes long and all of em hilarious.
Patrice was the king! Nobody has ever been so real, and able to put those thoughts into words we could all understand. He was the only man who could cross racial boundaries on both sides, and nearly everyone could respect what he was trying to say.
Has the post-2000 white guy indifference thing been documented/analysed at all? Patrice mentioned this when he was interviewed by the Workaholics (look that one up!), but is there some explanation for it psychologically? Steven Wright did it, but that was just a persona

To add to the BenSomething's point, within the last 15-20 years there's also been a lot of stigma associated with the confident white goody two-shoes male persona, especially in the entertainment industry. You're seen as a stiff, a know it all, some will go as far as judging you to being Republican and racist. In an effort to shy away from the prototype 20th century white male, White men make efforts to sort of...blend in with minority culture they don't want to offend, particularly Black culture. The nonchalant, aloof character type is distinguishingly Black. And Black culture became this way because of everytihing BenSomething alluded to. Insecurity.
That type of humor (the indifference) is so popular amongst the Mormon crowd. I only saw Flight of the Concords one time and couldn't understand why everyone thought it was hilarious

The reason it peaked in the 0's and lasted through early 10's is because that's when those generations were the right age to be the face of culture. Late millenial/zoomer culture is much more energetic and about giving a shit (tiktok, streamers, memes etc). Indifference and monotone are no longer cool to cool culture.
