I’m NOT a fan of having an MRI. I’ve had both back and shoulder MRIs and a brain scan. Here’s my trick for getting through them. 1) About 60 minutes before the MRI I take some Lorazepam. 2) When I arrive for the scan, I insert some earplugs and make sure they are snug. And finally 3) I use some eye shades or a sleep mask. This way I don’t see the interior of “the tube”. By the time the MRI starts, I’m really relaxed from the medication and I feel like I’m going to just take a little snooze. This has been my process for ALL my MRIs and it’s worked like a charm. In fact, during one MRI, I actually was enjoying it because the rhythm of the sounds gave me an idea for some techno music. BTW, I opted NOT to use the headphones they provided because I’m paranoid that they might accidentally increase the volume and not hear me to reduce it. Good luck.
Excellent, I've had multiple CT Scans over many years, I am Familiar with all the sounds featured in this Impressive Demonstration. KUDOS Madisonhealth Hospital. The one sound NOT heard in this video, that I just experienced yesterday 1/10/22, was Several very LOUD, Bull Horn or Ships Funnel Horn Blasts heard when huge ships leave or enter a harbor. OMG! Thank Gawd for the Headphones. BTW: It was explained to me that Each "Different" Sound "relates" to the particular aim/angle of the MRI Image being taken. I suggest adding ear plugs prior to putting the head phones. My Particular favorite Music was by " ENYA". I didn't have choice of "Color". Good Luck and ENJOY!
I ended up crying during mine at 20 years old lol. I go today to see if my current conditions of it have gotten worse, So I have to get another MRI. They inject the red fluid in my arm to light up everything during it. And this MRI determines whether or not I can proceed with surgery on it or not to fix the issues effecting my ability to stand longer for work. I've Had about 4? Total sprains on it. When I had that contraception on me my whole foot fell asleep when it squeezed it and what sucks is I couldn't move it so I was in severe pain for 15-20 minutes 🤣
This is the same in UK. I had a foot scan and it was exactly like this, around 20 mins. Ear plugs and headphones supplied, everyone very kind and helpful. 👍🏼
What is important is addressing the claustrophobia so many of us get, and not simply shouting what’s next because it’s routine to you. All the strapping down looks archaic to me. There was no close up as to how far the legs went in. And ear plugs are needed even if it’s low. Many of us have TINNITIUS and you should ask that. A claustro person doesn’t want to be snapped down and stuffed or covered unless it’s cold. 😊
Thank you so much, it's really helpful and calming to see what an MRI is like in advance of an appointment :)
Exactly! Need this for my mom bcos she often gets anxious goin to doctor / hospital.
Very informative for this nervous guy. Thank you!

Ikr im getting a mri scan on my right foot tommorow
Music? Is that really necessary? 🤔 I had no idea this would take that long. I thought it would be as quick as an x-ray.
MRIs ALWAYS take longer than X-rays.
23 MINUTES??????????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
why does it take so long. 23 minutes? I'm so scared omg lol

Sounds like a Metallica concert. lol
I can't do MRI's anymore. I'm severely claustrophobic with panic disorder. Why don't they have upright MRI's like they do in Europe and Canada???
I’m so nervous I go for an ankle MRI scan on the 23rd June. Is it just my foot going in ? I’m very claustrophobic! 😢😢😢

Dies your head go in the cylinder for an MRI of the ankle? Hard to tell from this angle.
Will this give me cancer i don't want this of it will o rather be with my ankle the way it is
There is no radiation exposure with MRI, it is magnetic and is not cancer causing.
