Claustrophobia does not both me, but the radiation exposure and ingestion of the iodine contrast stuff sounds scary. Neither the radiation or what is contained in the contrast stuff is talked about. My CT scan guy was an idiot and I had a panic attack! It is not easy to hold your hands straight up all stretched out, breathe in and hold your breath. I kept letting out air and didn't give a crap. I wanted to slap the guy for taking too long.
I have a question regarding when a CT scan is performed. Is it necessary for the gantry to rotate around the body to get the images required. or can your body be scanned by just having the body be moved back and forth into the machine while holding your breath .Also is there a light that comes on.
It wasn't really a taste for me, it was very similar to a general anaesthetic. A warmth and scratchy feeling. You feel it run up you arm and then into your mouth and throat. You also feel like you have peed yourself but it's just the blood vessels getting warm. It really feels like you have peed. I can't stress that enough. I'm really glad they warned me. I didn't have any residual taste but I did feel headachey for a day or two afterwards. Nothing that paracetamol and taking it easy couldn't fix.

Well I've had one of these done I guess lower torso of body for two days I was laid up in the bed sick and I notice changes in my body and now I'm having blood pressure issues a year later and I wish I had a radiation geiger counter to check my body because I noticed when I'm near Electronics sometimes they malfunction and they really don't tell you anything about all these problems that you can run into before you get this procedure done like you're exposing yourself to 100 X-rays at one time
They don't mention to you at any time that you will get 200 times the amount of radiation from a normal X-Ray when you get this done not to mention if you get the fluid you will feel really weird
Michael boyd and you don‘t mention when a doctor sees the clinical need of an CT with Contrast for the diagnosis. They don’t put you in there because they have no hobbys
CT docs only advised if it’s really required . Else MRI USG is always better choice . From 75 till 500 xray is done in single CT depending on the procedure . For new CT machines it’s little less .hence always go with new CT machine or a high Tesla in case of MRI (3T)

I had to undergo a CT scan at a hospital over a week ago when my main care physician suspected I had appendicitis. Thank heavens the CT scan didn't detect appendicitis, so I was able to get out of the hospital as soon as they took out my IV and stuff.

It was the same in Australia. I had integration and was pregnant when I had an MRI and was claustrophobic and crying, I was worried about my baby as he was kicking very hard. I wasn’t aloud a support person with me. My husband wasn’t aloud in while I recovered from an emergency c section, we live in the same house though. Thankfully Bub is ok. I agree, they should’ve just warn PPE like in the emergency operating room if it was really that crazy.

They put the person in backwards when I can mine I went in head first. It was a 2 min scan did not need to get changed
