I so love your swap parties and would love to start that here in my little town in the U.S. How far ahead do you set the date and how long is the party? one hour, two?
My mother in law has dementia and we had to move her after my father in law passed in December. We have to move 57 years of horrendous cluttter out of their house so it can be sold. It is such a terrible burden. All of her children ,my hubby and my sister in law are overwhelmed. I had read Swedish Death Cleaning and years ago, minimalized our home. I am so grateful we won’t be doing this to our family.
My mother has been doing this for over 10 years. My aunt, her sister is doing this now. She is preparing to go sometime this year. It's sad, but things happen.
First thing I noticed on that gorgeous table of food was what I thought were buffalo wings (the spicy chicken thingy) and wondered who the American was that brought the delicious but messy finger food 😂. Glad your friends are ok with you inviting us along. Such fun. 👋 to all of you!
I love this idea I did something similar years ago I had a ton of clothe, shoes, handbags and accessories many of them never worn and lots of Designer goods. My plan was to just give them to any of my friends and neighbors that wanted them and donated the rest to Good Will. I literally had 100'a of items Someone at my Church was invited and I ended up partnering with my Church to do the giveaway there, which motivated other women to join in. Someone told a friend that worked in Radio about and we ended up getting a ton of Publicity. Everything that was left was donated to women's shelter. It was one of the Most rewarding experiences ever WIN WIN WIN :-)
How fun!! Great way to declutter. I've had several ladies clothing swaps with our church ladies and it is always a fun time. I agree! Everyone trying the clothes on is a big part of the fun!
I had A swap party 11 years ago at my house! My friends were amazed at the idea. I told them that everything had to go that they brought for swap including my things as well; either to their homes or I was taking it to the ladies shelter or charity shop. I think what you do is terrific!

dropped a large box of donations off this morning after the gym, the the recycling center drop offs. I once had a cow pitcher just like that one! I think they are worldwide! Still hot here, but managing to keep up. Love the white beret on you!
I always love to see the clothes swap parties; such a wonderful way to declutter and have fun with like minded friends! As usual, you have found some great things, especially the snuggly robe and Christmas sweater. The mermaid blanket is really perfect for your bedroom, as I am only 5 feet tall, it would cover me head to toe. Hope you get lots of snuggle/ reading time in it.
@@DianeinDenmark Sadly, no. I have bought clothes in a thrift shop, but clothes swaps here tend to be for children's clothes. Our local hospital has a nearly new sale once a year, where one can buy some beautiful, barely worn items, but that sale has not happened for the last two years.

Diane, I loved the knock knock book. We had a lovely time at my dad's 88th birthday lunch on Sunday and the knock knock jokes were coming fast and furious ly. He has Alzheimer's but he can out with a few. What fun 🤣❤️

I have been doing swap parties for 20 years in Aarhus now. We started as a small group of five women, and now we are a big group who has to split into different groups when we meet. Same concept as you. Except the food part :) I have always loved it, and enjoy seeing how it has been more and more popular.

I hosted one of these a few yrs. ago for 8-10 women. Such fun. They loved it. Diane, you would be so proud of me. A community church is having a yard sale tomorrow. We decluttered 1/2 pick up truck load. We had three Fondue sets for parties. Gone. Our basement is looking empty. When lumber prices go down we want to finish it. I think Country French down there.

Women’s shelters always need things like towels, basic toiletries and feminine hygiene supplies, and things for babies and children. Diapers are always in demand, for example, but don’t give too many complicated, large or stuffed-animal toys. Of course, all types of women’s and children’s clothes and shoes are always needed, if they’re practical, they don’t have much need for party dresses and high heels.
I love that your all comfy enough to try on clothes in front of each other and that everyone is fair in only taking their share. I love to participate in something like this but I feel like in our culture there would be too many unfair individuals. Maybe if I could find more friends lol!
@@DianeinDenmark We have some clothes swap parties among the younger women who are more aware of Fast Fashion and the impact it has on our earth. Your video has made me aware that I, too, can organize something like this, even though I'm older. I had previously thought I'd have to find women who were my size and you helped me to see that's not true. I've been decluttering, downsizing, and donating for a couple of years but I'd like to see people I know benefit from what I no longer need. Sometimes our donations to agencies go into a landfill if there are too many things or they don't have enough workers to organize things, etc. The clothes swap parties put things right in the hands of people and it makes it fun, tool. You really help in more ways than you realize.
How do you guys all fit the same clothes? Lol, that would be my biggest issue. I struggle to find my size in a regular store, much less a thrift store or on anyone I know.
There are so many other things besides cloths that you can swap. I have collected a ton of crafting supplies from homeschooling over the last 15 years. I also have way too many dishes. We have a working dishwasher that we would offer up. I need lamps and blouses, so that’s really what I would focus on :)
Hi! I don't know if you heard me say it in the video, but we bag up everything left over and donate it to charities, womens and mens shelters, the book exchange, etc.

Women’s shelters always need things like towels, basic toiletries and feminine hygiene supplies, and things for babies and children. Diapers are always in demand, for example, but don’t give too many complicated, large or stuffed-animal toys. Of course, all types of women’s and children’s clothes and shoes are always needed, if they’re practical, they don’t have much need for party dresses and high heels.
Woolworth's is in Germany as well. Nice haul, love your swapparty videos!

Yes! Our Woolies food branding is almost identical to the M&S branding - I noticed this last time I was in the UK.
I love that your all comfy enough to try on clothes in front of each other and that everyone is fair in only taking their share. I love to participate in something like this but I feel like in our culture there would be too many unfair individuals. Maybe if I could find more friends lol!

@@DianeinDenmark We have some clothes swap parties among the younger women who are more aware of Fast Fashion and the impact it has on our earth. Your video has made me aware that I, too, can organize something like this, even though I'm older. I had previously thought I'd have to find women who were my size and you helped me to see that's not true. I've been decluttering, downsizing, and donating for a couple of years but I'd like to see people I know benefit from what I no longer need. Sometimes our donations to agencies go into a landfill if there are too many things or they don't have enough workers to organize things, etc. The clothes swap parties put things right in the hands of people and it makes it fun, tool. You really help in more ways than you realize.
How do you guys all fit the same clothes? Lol, that would be my biggest issue. I struggle to find my size in a regular store, much less a thrift store or on anyone I know.
There are so many other things besides cloths that you can swap. I have collected a ton of crafting supplies from homeschooling over the last 15 years. I also have way too many dishes. We have a working dishwasher that we would offer up. I need lamps and blouses, so that’s really what I would focus on :)

Hi! I don't know if you heard me say it in the video, but we bag up everything left over and donate it to charities, womens and mens shelters, the book exchange, etc.
