Hey man just wanna say mega congrats! That's spectacular. I tried it your way and couldn't do it, I went from 25mg, to 15mg, to 5mg, to 0mg, and then alllll the way back up and beyond to 35mg/ml type shit. I just recently quit cold turkey and it is absolute hell, I feel straight up DOPE SICK, and yes, I have felt dope sick before! I spent the last year just c o n s t a n t l y hitting 35mg/ml e liquid all day, like 30 - 60 times an hour and I built up such a gnarly amount of nicotine in my system that I legit feel like I'm with withdrawing from opiates.
I'm mostly through the dope sick stage now, on day 7, so I am beyond confident I've got this shit in the bag. But I have a feeling I'm going to be getting hot and cold flashes, feeling like i need to vomit when I get a craving, etc. for another couple weeks at least. Every time I have a craving, I tell myself the truth instead of lying... Vaping or smoking will not make me feel better, it caused the misery I'm feeling and it will prolong the misery I'm feeling if I take another hit. Fuck that shit.
Happy to say this is the last addictive substance I will have to withdraw for!!! 😁I do believe in God but the twelve steps were never for me, I don't think people will be addicts forever, and I don't think being around other substance abusers is beneficial for anyone, EVEN if they're in recovery. Addiction is a PERSONAL battle, no one will help you, even if they want to help you more than breathing, it's just not a thing you can share the burden of. People can ease the way, inspire, all that good stuff, but at the end of the day they don't have access to your head!!!

The whole EVALI deal was that black market thc cartridges were cut with vitamin E acetate. Users of these carts (including myself) were subjected to intense lung inflammation and in severe cases were fatal. The anti vaping companies jumped on this and said vaping in general caused the outbreak without making the distinction between the black market thc cartridges and nicotine vapes. The way they were able to do this is because many people said they used nicotine vapes but did not admit to using thc cartridges. It’s pretty obvious why this was the case, they didn’t want to admit to using thc. In the time from when this happened up until now the medical community has pretty much come to the consensus that it was almost exclusively due to thc vapes but only once the story was long out of headlines…

I can’t believe I was putting that shit into my lungs for so long.. And I know vaping isn’t great for me either, but I’m convinced it’s a lot better for me than cigarettes. My lungs feel better already, even after 3 weeks. I don’t think I’ll ever have another cigarette again. But I'll give you an update, 2 weeks after I made this post, I started wheezing and my lungs felt "itchy", everytime I hit the vape I would cough a lung up, and my chest hurt really bad. So I decided to go see my doctor, he ran some tests, and it turns out I am allergic to whatever they put in the vape juice, vegetable glycerin? Or something like that.. So I has to stop vaping. I was off cigarettes for another 4 weeks, then I went to a bar, had a few beers, and broke, I had a smoke. Now I smoke like 1 a day, and I feel so disgusting when I do. It actually sucks, I wish I never ever started smoking when I was younger. I did it to "look cool", and now look at me, hiding it from everyone cause it's so disgusting.

We never promoted them as something that's healthy, just healthier than cigs. I always find it odd that people are super comfortable with the fact that if they don't have their morning coffee, they go through actual withdrawals, but find the logic to demonize nicotine. Hell, the chemical structure between nicotine and caffeine is super similar. Also the pods in question were illegal and purchased on the black market, they were not something you could pick up at a vape shop. Normal vaping liquid does not have vitamin e acetate in it. Vape clouds have also been tested in a lab where they filled the room with vapor and tested the particles for carcinogens and found nothing, proving that there is no such thing as second hand vape, it’s not like secondhand smoke, every bit of the nicotine is delivered to the system of the person inhaling. They way over regulated vaping for one reason and that’s because it was crushing traditional cigarettes and causing big tobacco to lose money, I wouldn’t put it past big tobacco to have done some corporate espionage and dosed those pods and introduced them to the market so people could get sick, regardless the outcome is what they wanted higher taxes, higher regulation, and Phillip Morris took advantage of that and bought up stock in many of the vape companies.

Been vaping for 10 years and have never looked back. Within 2 weeks of stopping smoking and starting vaping the old spring in the step came back. The best thing about vaping is you are not locked in to the 5 mins of a cigarette so you just take a puff when you feel like it. The bonus is that I was smoking a pack of 10 a day which at the time was £35 a week now with vaping it costs less than £5 a week. Totally quid's in .

Yes, I worked for a manufacture in the vaping industry. Yes, that company was purchased by a large tobacco company. Yes, these occurrences gave me insights into both industries the general public doesn’t have. Yes, I smoked for decades. Yes, I quit smoking with vaping. Yes, I have researched both initially and throughout my experiences.
    For example:
Polonium-210 exists throughout our environment, from the air that we breathe to the foods that we eat. There are tiny amounts in our bodies and small quantities in the soil and air. Deposition of 210Po onto the broad leaves of the tobacco plant results in an elevated concentration of 210Po in tobacco smoke, therefore resulting in a higher internal radiation dose directly to the lungs for smokers vs. nonsmokers.
The effective dose of 252 μSv [total sum of radioactive elements inhaled by smokers] per year must be compared with the average worldwide exposure to natural radiation sources due to inhalation 1.26 mSv. (1 μSv is equal to 1,000 mSv = smokers 252,000 mSv vs. non-smokers 1.26 mSv) -Science from the NIH.
Seems counterintuitive but, yes, tobacco companies are killing their customers.
Vaping companies are trying to save lives. (The same flavoring & propylene glycol are used to flavor inhaled anesthesia at hospitals FOR CHILDREN, minus the nicotine & vegetable glycerine)
Obviously, corporate manipulation of the public through propaganda is effective.
It is what it is. The “why” is for you to figure out.

It's threatening the profits of the pharmaceutical companies - in the EU, smoking cessation products were an 8 billion euro a year market until vaping arrived. In the US you have the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement, whereby states get millions of dollars a year from tobacco companies which is supposed to go towards smoking cessation programs. Most states used about 1% of this money for smoking cessation. The TMSA gifted states $206bn over 25 years. Some states, notably NY, CA and CO worked with Wall Street to guarantee them an annual income, dependent upon the number of smokers. Vaping comes along and these states suddenly realise that this income won't be quite as large as they were expecting. Hey presto, NY, CA and CO decide that vaping is really, really bad and start to implement legislation to block it. Follow the money. It's always about the money.

    • @robheyes6470
      @robheyes6470 2 года назад

Not only that, but tobacco control suddenly realised that they were not only losing control of the narrative, but that their funding (from the TMSA) was in jeopardy.
If people could switch to vaping then what's the point of tobacco control, since vapers were taking control of their own health, and might actually remove smoking as the prevalent form of nicotine consumption. They'd be out of a job (that they were seriously failing at fulfilling).

My girl got me addicted to vaping. I loved the head buzz and the sensations of that post coitus hit. A couple months later, I built a tolerance and the head buzz went away. This is the point when I decided to quit. For two weeks I would lay in my bed at 11PM and try to fall asleep. My room was pitch dark, and I also wore a sleep mask to shut out any lights from electronics. From 11 to about 3 AM, every night for two weeks, I would toss and turn and my mind would run rampant as my body wouldn't allow me to fall asleep without a hit. I never gave in, and just realized this as the price I have to pay for that head buzz and good sensations. I bring this to you not only because of vaping or other addictions, but because of the natural laws of the universe we live in. There's a price tag on everything whether you realize it or not. Every action comes with a price tag "consequence," so I encourage everyone to be wise in their actions and decision making. Stay safe everyone.

So no matter what they say about the dangers of vaping I believe the choice to do so is OK with me. Joe is exactly right when he says it encroaching on someone's profits. The tobacco industry and the special interest groups who pay millions to Washington politicians and the people at the CDC who benifit from those profits make sure you believe vaping will kill you.

Joe's always hitting those disposables now. Not sure he realizes those things have 50mg of nicotine per millileter, those of us who carry the "garage door opener" typically vape at 3 or 6 mg/ml. One of those disposable has the equivalent of multiple packs of cigarettes. I love nicotine but that's just way too much. I'm incredibly grateful for the technology, I smoked for like 25 years, and pretty much immediately after giving vaping a try I dropped cigarettes and never looked back.
At any rate, the FDA's war on vaping is total bullshit. I have my reservations about the safety of vaping, but I do know I felt a lot better after switching from burning tobacco. I'd rather avoid the known risks with smoking and take the gamble with vaping. It's not really quite chock full of chemicals the way people say. Vape juice has like 3 ingredients, all known to be safe for consumption.

This is so tedious, I've had to explain this to my own family Dr's.
Everyone of the people who got sick had lipodial pneumonia from inhaling vitamin e oil that was vaped in black market marijuana vape pens. Please stop demonizing the thing that is most effective to help folks quit smoking cigs. I've been vaping daily (Not heavily) for over 6 years. I have spent zero days with popcorn lung (yet to actually see a case that was attributed to vaping) or lipodial pneumonia. You are helping big tobacco.
Cigarettes in Canada are around $20 per pack, ejuice is #25-$30 for 60ml which lasts me a month, a coil costs $5-$7 and I use two a month. The same money I would spend on cigs in 4-5 days pays for a month of vaping for me. An overall harm reduction and a less than %25 expenditure over cigarettes. Vaping has been around for 10+ years now, if it was as bad as cigarettes data would be showing that, and it just isn't.

I can tell you from personal experience, as a former smoker of 40 years, now turned vaper of 3 years. HUGE difference. No comparison! I used to feel like dying every night in bed from being unable to breathe and coughing without end. When I started vaping, ALL the bad symptoms of my smoking years vanished in days! Literally, within days my cough was totally gone, I could do high impact aerobic exercise for long periods without tiring and without coughing. I could taste and smell my food as I couldn't do before. There was a vast improvement to my health literally overnight. In the 3 years I've been vaping, I went from 12mg nicotine to 1.5mg. I'm no longer addicted to nicotine because the reduction was gradual, but I like the taste of my e-juice, so I enjoy vaping and my house smells like vanilla cream instead of disgusting ashes. My aim is to go down to 0mg and then quit vaping entirely as well. My quest to quit smoking would never have happened if it had not been for vaping and I'm so grateful for it that I will defend it to the whole world. The bad press that vaping got couldn't be more wrong, and I believe it's way overblown. It's like you said, Joe, there have been some bad quality products that resulted in bad experiences for a few vapers, but the rest of us who buy good quality approved products know better. My advice is don't start to vape unless you're a smoker and wish to quit that vile and dangerous habit. If smoking is 100% bad, vaping is only 5% bad by comparison. The benefits are huge. I cannot recommend it enough to any smoker.

@@doodahman2995 I've always used Vanilla for my e-juice. It's got a lovely taste and it's not too sweet. You can start with that and then try other flavours later to see if you prefer something else. You need to also consider the nicotine strength of the juice you buy. If you smoked one pack of cigarettes a day, it's fine to start with 12mg. I used that for 3 months, then started decreasing the nicotine strength gradually, every 6 months or so. Whatever you do, once you start vaping, don't ever go back to cigarettes, not even for one single drag, because the secret is to wean yourself off smoking completely. Cigarettes have other addictive chemicals besides nicotine that keep you going back to them, so make sure you don't touch another cigarette. My sister didn't take this advice and went back to smoking after a year of vaping. I wish you the best of luck. Vapes still contain tobacco and nicotine so I mean it's not much better honestly, you're just substituting smoke for vapor which has it's own negatives too since vapor in the lungs technically will have higher chance of chest and lung infections. Also vapor is actually hotter than smoke so it can be even more damaging to the lungs than smoke but then again cigarettes burn hotter than vapor probably because the lit end is fairly close to your mouth. Overall if you used tobacco water pipes it would be much cooler than vapor since the lit end is much further away and cools down a lot before it reaches the mouth and especially since it can pass through cold water or even ice if you use ice in it

When I stopped smoking cigarettes, I felt like I wasn’t struggling for breath when working out. When I stopped cigs for vape, I could breath but my heart would still race and my face would feel flush when working out. I had to stop vaping cause I could tell it was making my heart struggle when doing cardio. Imho, at least vaping isn’t taking in tar from the process of burning something and inhaling it

If ur already addicted to nicotine, vaping is (by most research) generally less harmful than cigarettes.
However if you are not addicted to nicotine already, do yourself a favor and just stay away from ALL OF IT. Especially if you are young.

I smoked a pack or more a day of
Marlboro reds for 25 years. I had shortness of breath, plus it was getting so annoying having to always go somewhere else to smoke. I finally converted to vaping and it took probably 4-5 months to fully give up the cigs. Since moving to vaping the shortness of breath has 100% gone away! So there are many pros from switching to vaping including saving a good amount of money. However there are negatives. The biggest is having the access to vape essentially anywhere so you tend to vape a LOT! Another issue is for me it can make my nose extremely dry to the point where it bleed the next morning when I blow my nose. Also ive gotten a sick (cold) from vaping way too much in a day (this has happened only a few times).
I’ve seen others talk about gums bleeding which I’ve had issues with mostly because it drys your mouth out. Other than those issues I would say it’s much better for you than cigarettes but there are definitely side effects and I still don’t think we have evidence to tell us what are the possible long term effects of vaping if there is any.

Try vaping. I tried quitting smoking several times. After the gum, patches, and Chantix didn't work I had kind of given up. Then I bought a vape pen, threw away the half pack I had in my pocket, and three years later still have never bought a pack. I feel better, smell better, and my wife and kids are happier.

What I can tell you from my personal experience from smoking cigs and the juul vape is that cigarettes are worse than the juul atleast for me. Smoking cigarettes I would always hack up dark green mucus, have a nasty taste in my mouth and throat, have a slight cough and would smell like a damn ashtray all the time. When I switched over to the juul I don’t hack up any nasty stuff, there’s no nasty taste, no cough, and no smell. What I can say tho is that I literally smoke it all day long because it’s so convenient and I can smoke it indoors which is probably terrible for you, so basically I’m just smoking it a ton more so probably not so much better in the long run.

Once the data comes out on what these oils that are used to house the nicotine does we can grasp what the risk is. I'm a pack a day, and have quit intermittently, and used juuls, and you're right, the convenience isn't healthy and stokes addictive behavioir. Nicotine cause vasoconstriction of ur blood vessels giving you hypertension which long term leads to heart disease and the hardening of your arteries and they eventually pop. Also since ur inhaling it you get Pulmonary Hypertension. In the medical community hypertension is known as "The silent killer"
The other thing u need to understand is they are trying to make money so they don't give a shit about ur health just like big pharama .
But is BETTER than cigarettes for sure but still must quit. I'm a vaper so....... Just look at the chemical properties of nicotine. We have a receptor named after it "the nicotine receptor" what ever that receptor does is the properties of nicotine. That's how medicine works.

Nicotine is bad for the heart. Dosing nicotine all day long (and often in bed) never gives the heart a chance to ‘rest’ and slow the rate.
Nicotine otherwise is a pretty innocuous chemical health wise except for the damn heart issues.
I’m 4 months nicotine (and all stimulant) free now after experiencing heart failure. The focus is always on cancer cancer cancer (and that is a problem with cigs) but the heart issues come with vaping nicotine

I quit both almost a year ago. I think the only good thing that cigarettes have over vapes is the fact that you can't smoke everywhere. Unlike vapes which you can hit even in public bathrooms (especially pods like Juuls)
The lack of accessibility makes cigarettes less addicting in my opinion

I think it's because no one smokes cigarettes anymore, when I was even in my early 40's a good deal of people smoked and the temptation was there, now not so much... I hope this quit sticks!

My cousin was one of the kids who died from vaping the weed pods. Weed is illegal where he was from, and somebody was illegally making these pods and selling them. The pods had a chemical for skin care (or something like that) and it caused burning in his lungs. He actually recovered enough from the lung burns and was released from the hospital, but he had a bad allergic reaction to the medication that the doctor prescribed. And ultimately, the allergic reaction caused him to go into anaphylactic shock and he very unfortunately died.
