  • In this 3rd part I decoke the cylinder head. This entails removing the 8 valves and cleaning them all to remove all the carbon build up.

If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.

    Dear Sir,
Thanks for this instruction. I do have an TU1M engine. Could you tell me if that spring compressor you use is the same as the one in your amazon list? That is the Laser 3523 Valve Spring Compressor. Does it work well for the TU engine?

Hi sorry I've not added the links for that video but have added the link to the spring compressor for you. It's in the description. Yes it is the one you mentioned as well.

Very good instructional video. However I have to say though with that damage you attempted to repair at the end with JB weld, I would have binned that head and got another undamaged one as they are cheap as chips and refurbed that. Also the exhaust valve seats looked a bit pitted in your pics although these might have been pics post you re-grinding them. Replacing the head gasket and valve stem seals is something I might well have to do on my 106 as I can't get it through the MOT due to failing on emissions. High CO. Everything else is good. The exhaust is putting out a little bit of grey/blue smoke plus a bit of water. The coolant level has dropped slightly as well. The head gaskets on the 106 were weak points as they weren't very good especially with the floating piston liners as the block is not solid to reduce weight. I really like the look of your valve spring compressor. Mine isn't as grand as that. I might have to get the one you used plus a magnetic pick up. The rest I have. A really good clear instructional video. Many thanks.

Appreciate the feedback and thank you. Truth be known I may not be able to finish this Peugeot as I am having to sort the Honda Head gasket now which is a bit more important. Hard to fit everything in to the day sometimes. The magnetic pick ups are well worth having.

@@CoatsandGaiters There seems to be a pattern emerging with head gaskets ......

@@CoatsandGaiters You are pretty much on the home straight. Refitting the head gasket and connecting everything up is pretty straight forward. Seems a shame not to do it.

@@alexmorgan3435 I know, I know !!!! I call it getting 'derailed'. I keep exclaiming to my wife that life has this habit of derailing ones projects. I didn't plan this but when I saw the Honda for sale and enquired it was thankfully out of my budget but then a week later she offered it to me as some other buyers had wound her up. So I'm going to say this one isn't my fault lol

@@alexmorgan3435 I may still finish it but have to give my attention to the Honda first as it has a higher value. I have the new head gasket set and timing belt all ready which I would prefer to use than have sat on the shelf so maybe one day soon. I bet I've not convinced you lol
