47 RONIN is one of my favorite samurai movies of all times. As matter of fact I still watch it everyday! I JUST LOVE 47 RONIN! Keanu Reeves and Hiroyuki Sanada are absolutely brilliant! The duel at Dutch Island... is magnificent! I love watching their swords fighting! 47 RONIN is underrated... should've gotten golden globe award!!!
It's actually a pretty good test. As far as he knew, his men disobeyed his direct order, and attacked the praying monks in their own temple. He would have had little right to defend his men under those circumstances.
I love this movie, I am a huge lover /buff of Japan/Japanese culture & history/mythology/legends/superstition, etc etc.. big japan buff. I liked how they portrayed everything in this movie in a very interesting & more realistic way as you’d imagine it would have been back then if all these creatures & myths, superstitions, tales, etc all actually existed. The way they portrayed the Tengu👺 was super cool & interesting. They way the Kirin is portrayed is so good! The way the dragons are portrayed is super awesome & really cool how it’s the Japanese equivalent of a witch, being that the geisha girl’s long fabrics & Obi belts stretch out & then turn/morph into this long serpentine dragon (Ryuu), & it’s so cool & genius to show it that way.
I remember watching this movie with my father years ago, I've always loved japanese culture , I can't recommend this movie enough. Amazing masterpiece ❤

Japan is a land of supernatural and superstitions... as I am third generation Japanese American this movie, I can learn parts of Japan's culture! As my ancestors are of Samurai decsent... I'm learning their skills in martial arts and sword fighting skills. Keanu Reeves and Hiroyuki Sanada shows their expertise in this Japanese culture. Will be watching this 47 Ronin again and again... and more❤
