Big thanks to Chesil Woodcraft for sending out the dice tray I used in the video. I've been taking it to the local game club and it's spot on! Have a look at their dice trays with loads of different faction logos here: www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ChesilWoodcraft
Brilliant, thanks for doing these. As a Warhammer 30k/40k beginner they are ideal. Your Kill Team videos were really helpful too. Can’t believe there aren’t many people doing these guides.
I've been watching quite a few of these "how to play HH" vids, I've found my English cousins much more interesting to listen to. I just subbed to you guys, I like the brief simple vids. And I like the cardboard arrows for pointing out specific text, brilliant and hilarious and very enjoyable. I'm not a new player, but I am definitely enjoying all the HH content. 40K is about dead to me. 👍
6:18 this section really confuses me with how its worded? He says that the higher the characteristic the more likley the hit, but if your roll needs to be equal or higher than the characteristic wouldn't a lower number be better?
Thanks for watching! I'm mostly going to use the models in 40k. Played a few games with them as CSM Red Corsairs with make of Tzeentch and I love the gameplay, great fun.
Hi I'm turning here in need of an answer as people are divided by this issue in my gaming stores. The special rule retinue for warlord in the marines codex... So the retinue rule states that the "retinue" will join the warlord as he became the squad leader of it during the creation of the army(so it appears before the deployment, it's like an option to the warlord). Now core book, independent character page 241. The independent chara can join a unit at the deployment by being in base coherent with it and state it. So the issue now. 1- some people say that he can join with is retinue another unit as he is still an independent character and 2- others say no as he is in an unit and can't leave it so join with others... 1- They use the apothecary as an example the apo can't joined an independent character as the "retinue" is part of him, so the apo can't join him and is retinue. So the only way for them to get a apothecary would be to join the warlord with is retinue to another unit that has the apothecary already in it... (Warlord with command squad joining an tactical squad with apo as exemple) I think you get the circle thinking gymnastics they are doing... By using the core book and the marines book I can't find the end of it... I kind of understand both points of view on the matter... Especially for the retinue as it is clearly stated that it happens during list building (and that the unit join the warlord) and not during deployment(when independent chara join a unit)... It's just that the thought of a warlord with a retinue joining another unit is kind of broken in my mind... (And not in the spirit of the game) but I can't find a closing statement in both book that end it. And if he can't join as for the independent character rule from the core book can he get a apo to join is unit?
While I just started Warhammer this year after decades of avoiding it, im arse deep in KillTeam. Im just not delving into full 40k or the spinoffs like this. However the lire of Horus Heracy does lure me. I did buy a box of MkVII marines for killteam. So ill get a Sons of Horus which are simply chaos marines. With a box of 20 ill get an Imperial Fists KT and 1 more which will slake my Horus thirst. Still enjoyed the video lad👍🏻
It's a beast for sure! I'm covering the basics in this series to help get started with a first game; although the upcoming assault phase is pretty detailed. The additional special rules, vehicle, and terrain section are wordy indeed 🤣

That's great to hear, really pleased you liked the Kill Team videos. Thanks for watching this series too!
@@tabletopskirmishgames I agree. The kill team videos were fantastic. It is what lead me to find your channel.

Ahh, how I missed the template/scatter mechanics from the 40k! I dropped on to this video by chance and it is clear and easy to follow. Thanks
Thank you so much for doing this. I haven’t been able to find any thing explaining the rules and how to play on RUclips.
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
Great instructive video, Lee. I’m also really liking your basic black armor Marines. If I can’t decide on a legion, I may go that route.
Thanks, Thark! I've been playing them in 40k as a fallen Dark Angels Chaos Space Marine army that was lost in the warp. Great fun to play!
Thanks for this video. I've been wanting something like this to help make a decision. Much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching!
THE ARROW HAS RETURNED!
We need some trumpets playing 🤣
I’m probably not going to get into heresy due to cost and my focus on Kill Team… BUUUUUUUT, I really wanted to know how the game played! Thanks!

1-
They use the apothecary as an example the apo can't joined an independent character as the "retinue" is part of him, so the apo can't join him and is retinue.
So the only way for them to get a apothecary would be to join the warlord with is retinue to another unit that has the apothecary already in it... (Warlord with command squad joining an tactical squad with apo as exemple)
I think you get the circle thinking gymnastics they are doing...
I haven't been playing it since the rules series so am not able to answer the nuances. Hopefully someone here in the comments can help.
Appreciate this

Well done👍
Subbed.
Thank you!
Did notice many mistakes. I'm left woundering which game you're trying to teach?
That's weird because I read the rules directly from the book and added the video to it. Be great if you can point out the mistakes.
@@tabletopskirmishgames Really: were in the rules does it say bodied? My HH2 rule book says model! Not main body! It's a really big difference.
@@schemesof40k 🤣
I have the rulebook, but it is an undigestable wall of words
