The grandmother and granddaughter are also triggering because the mother daughter relationship dynamic in black families needs to change. The way black moms not ALL but many have torn their daughters down through tough love needs to change as well. Many black girls feel rejected not only by absent fathers and the single moms who raised them out of fear of them turning out like them( used harsh language and unfair punishments)Moms traumas bleeding on their daughters still in 2023. Old school parenting is why a lot of adults traumatize their kids now with a bunch of “tough love” aka abuse. Either it’s physically, emotionally, mentally- weird asl.
Old school is the reason “children are seen and not heard” phrase was even created.
Ridiculous behavior, the disrespect and expecting respect is ridiculous. -

So where do you learn who to respect? And what that looks like? And when you step out of line what does correction look like? What yall don't want to admit is that there is a time and place for everything, and that NOBODY gives a damn about what makes you as an individual uncomfortable if you disregard the comfort of everyone else. That's respect.

The situation with the grandmother and her grand-daughter, the young boy with the sister with the afro, and the two girls where one had a job: all these scenarios really show how parents and parental guardians really often ignore how much impact they have on their children.
