Makes me tear up too. A rock/metal/prog masterpiece. I knew that high sustained bend would get to Nick. My favorite BAND-MAID song since it was released. Now don't wait so long and check out UNLEASH for an actual anime MV. Plus soooo many you haven't done in their 10 year catalog. Peace. 42.5
That's one of the main things that won me on Band-Maid. It always feels like Kanami (lead and songwriter) thinks in stories when she writes. Then everyone else in the band helps out with the characters and plot. And with Band-Maid you never really know what kind of story you're going to get.
BAND-MAID just dropped ENDLESS STORY this week. Another from their Yokohama concert. This is the 33rd and final song from this 3+ hour concert. Get ready for the emotional toll.
Epic is the right word for this one. They opened their set at Lollapalooza with it. In my head, I imagine some guy, "An all girl-band from Japan that wears maid dresses, huh? Honey, I'm going to the beer tent. I'll be back in awhile." "Whoa! Who the hell is this?!?" "I thought you were going for beer. Did you bring me one?" "Never mind that! This is awesome!"
Kanami is a genius. The song is a masterpiece. She always tells a story. This song is an epic story/movie (to me is a hero'es journey) encapsulated in a 3:45 minutes song. It's goes through a such an emotional journey for you - notice the change of atmosphere during the Misa's bass solo part to where the strings come in, yeah, you will feel tired. It grabs you and does not let you go until the end.
This makes me cry it is so good. Misa's bass punctuation at the intro says "fasten your seat belts and prepare to die"! These ladies redefine cardio! Best band in the world. Best musicians in the world. Game Over.
Great to see you guys back reacting to Band Maid. My favorite band in the world. I'm 75 years old and have seen A LOT of rock bands. Band Maid can hold their own with any of them. One fun two-song clip of Band Maid you should react to is from their live performance at the 2023 Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago this August. Band Maid was the first J-Rock band invited to perform at the festival and they did not disappoint. The two-song clip from their one-hour performance was "Dice/Hate?". That clip has gone VIRAL on You/Tube and the internet. You really need to see it.
I think the same when you say that this song is like the telling of a story, with epic and sad parts and a glorious ending.. It was perfect comparison. Great reaction!
We are in the midst of greatness. Time will prove this out. They are an absolutely amazing band. Their greatness cannot be ignored. At some point in the near future, they will blow up and be filling stadiums. No other band deserves it more than Band Maid. Great reaction
I was first in line at the recent HongKong concert and took a spot in front of KANAMI. My goodness.... I started crying when she played this song in her new outfit. So goddamn badass!!!
From Now On is the first song on the "Unleash" EP =) You guys need to check out the last song "Hate" at Lollapalooza 2023 or better yet Dice/Hate? Welcome Back Y'all
Band-Maid is fantastic. This is the first song on their Unleash!!!!!! EP and it sure sets the tone for the rest of the EP, great stuff. Love it... there are a few other awesome instrumental songs like "Without holding back" and "Onset", like all their music it is very cool. Thanks for the reaction.
I find that this band satisfies my intellect as well as my emotions. I am both moved and inspired by their uplifting compositions. I can see that you young gentlemen feel the same. Thank you for your reaction.
Seen Band Maid twice in the last 2 years. Best 2 concerts I've ever been to! ♥ At their Philly show in 2022, they played Onset & this back to back. Think that got the biggest applause that nite!
That Power Guitar Stance from Kanami and Misa at the begging followed up by the total Japanese Girl Stance from Miku is perfect. It captures their stage presence so well. I truly love this band.
Good reaction. If you want your channel to blow up do more BandMaid. Help spread the word rock and roll is alive and well and living in Japan! During the Dark Ages when the Goths and Visigoths were pillaging Europe and burning books the collected wisdom was preserved in the monasteries on an island we call Ireland. Without Ireland tons of wisdom would be forever lost. I think rock and roll has been kept alive by Japan. Proper riff driven guitar centric music. That being said BandMaid has no weak link. All five are wonderful musicians. Are they the greatest musicians in the world? Maybe not but together they are a juggernaut of a band. Even their battle gear, which is what they call their maid outfits, lends a certain cachet causing cognitive dissonance. Love them love them love them!❤
Highlights their song writing and technical skills. Song was intended as a show opener, and to display the band's instrumental chops to potential new fans as they started touring again after COVID. Saiki, lead singer, came up with that idea and asked Kanami, lead guitar, to whip some thing up!
Many of us recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the DB’s matched the BPM’s! So FROM NOW ON, Band-Maid will grow in popularity even faster as their awesome, sold out 2023 BAND-MAID 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR wrapped up in Japan. Thx, Guys!
Watch DICE/HATE/ from Lalapalooza 2023 and have your mind blown during the guitar/bass throwdown. You will not regret it. Yes, they play From Now On live too.
I'll be honest, this is not the type of music I normally like to listen to. But I'm SO glad you guys decided to return to Band-Maid and react to this jaw-droppingly majestic cut! This is breathtaking--even if it did, at times, give Nick facial expressions like he was passing a kidney stone, lol! Great song, great reaction.
They are unlike any other group out there, there's no doubt about that. And Kanami does write a story with her compositions and they are always intricate, but get through to you perfectly. And the excellence of their musicianship is just out of this world. Miku has gone from not knowing to play guitar at all to a very capable guitarist who does her roles perfectly. And they make me think of supergroups of the past like Led Zeppelin, Power Station, Cream and so many others. And I saw them perform this twice live at shows and it is so much more raw and powerful. Just watching Akane do her parts is just a true pleasure. And no one really does instrumentals any more, which is a damn shame.
"That song just shot into the sun"😂 and the sun put on shades and sunscreen because the song was way brighter and burnt much hotter than anything the sun had ever experienced. What a fcken band Po, I'm going to go and guzzle umpteen ice chilled beers to cool down, Viva la Maids, cheers from Oz 👍👍🍻🍻
This is one of my favorite reactions to The Maids, thank you. The first time I heard this, as an old musician, it literally knocked my uh…pick in the floor. And just think they originally started doing instrumentals to give Saki a chance to rest her voice back before she had throat surgery.
Can't expect anything else when you put four of the best musicians on the planet together and just give them leave to do whatever they want. To repeat a phrase I love, "Not bad for a bunch of girls". No not bad for anyone, anywhere, any time. Maids are the best period.
Nice reaction guys, although I thought Nick was in pain initially from his facial expressions. 😅 Band-Maid usually play an instrumental number in mid set to give vocalist Saiki a break, however they have also opened with From Now On, which is different and courageous. It tells the audience to strap themselves in! And of course they play it superbly. Subscribed to your channel. I note you have covered Lovebites (one MV?). They have some great new live material on their official channel, I suggest checking out Hammer of Wrath for a further face melting experience! Cheers from Australia.
You didn't think they could ever outdo "Onset" did you? This is why you know you are experiencing greatness: Band-Maid consistently tops themselves. I've seen them do it time after time. It's mind-blowing what these five women are doing. Watch "Shambles" - either their live NHK performance or their MV - it's a great song and an Anime theme.
It's like a bolt of lightning flashing and thunder roaring through the pitch-black clouds. It would have been a perfect opening for Godzilla. And the ending sound is the wind after the storm has passed? It's magnificent.
Been far too long guys. Every song you've reacted to by these guys has blown you away and you're still only at the tip of the iceberg. I pretty much agree with everyone in saying "pick anything" BUT, if you wanna see some versatility and still be captivated, check out "Daydreaming". In my opinion one of the best (in my words only) Rock Ballad's you will hear in a looong time. 5 little Japanese girls in Maid outfits??? Who woulda thought? Not that they weren't before but these guys have grown into being brilliant song writers/musicians and for those who skip the thumbnails when they see the outfits (like I did for a long time) ... their loss. Something for everyone's taste and not a single "plain Jane" song to be heard. Every musician stands out in every song. Oh, and Kanami is a genius in speaking her emotions through her guitar while Miku does the same with the lyrics. 4 years on and still listen to them daily. Take care and Merry Christmas guys.
Some of their riffs remind me of other, older songs but when I play them back-to-back, I see how Band-Maid just colors their songs with those old crayons but are turning out audibly higher quality pictures in music. Their entire song list is pretty much perfect, and when you research their videos, they have a few acoustic versions that 'rock' as well.
I had to stop what I was doing so that I could see your reactions to being blown away by this INCREDIBLE song. I was not disappointed! 2 more phenomenal instrumentals I know you guys will LOVE are Giovanni and Without Holding Back. They are part of the "White Room" collection, which is the 4 of them playing with nohing around them and their instruments but whiteness a d they look loke theyre having a GREAT Time. A double bill reaction would n ot only add you to Christmas lists world wide, but the energy from the 2 vids would charge you up for weeks! Thanks again for another great reaction! 🤘🤩🤘
While Band Maid songs have anime theme elements, don't be confused that their songs are solely anime soundtracks, but honest-to-goodeness R&R, Punk, Metal, Blues, and everything in between.
In addition to 'Shambles' there's another instrumental that's just as good as 'From Now On' called, 'Without Holding Back'. Maybe even better! They really don't hold back. I believe it's on the Instrumental Maid channel.

LOL!!! Your Stank Face looks like Emmett Kelly, The Sad Clown! Go back and look at your face at the start of the song and then do a Google Image Search for Emmett Kelly. Sorry, but I just had to go there. But seriously, you want Brutal? You want Fire, literally? Then you have to do the season two closer for the Netflix anime that BAND-MAID was commissioned for, 'Shambles'. Normally I would say do the LIVE version, but it's one of those rare ones for BAND-MAID where the OMV is the best one!
That'll teach you not reacting to Band-Maid for a long time, you cats are WAAAAAAY behind. Good way to end out the year though..........unless you react to their latest "Shambles" which IS an Anime theme. There, I made it easy for you....... Merry Christmas! BTW I love that STANK face.....Like your buddy just ripped a dooey.
For those who are losing their minds over my comment, not everyone likes everything....... that's why there are different genres. I can **appreciate** other work without loving it.
Hard yes. Yeah they wear goofy outfits but sweet baby Jessics Tandy they rock. Proper rock and roll with more hooks than grandpa's tackle box and more riffs per song than most stingy guitarists put in an EP. Just sold out Yokahama arena (capacity 33,000 sests) for their 10th anniversary as a band. Same line up for 10 yrs - longer than most marriages last.
Okay, I'm a huge fan, but they did not sell out Yokohama arena and it holds about 17,000. I watched the live stream (it was completely awesome) and it was clear that the nosebleed seats were not close to filled. There were probably 10 - 12,000 there. Let's try to keep close to the facts: 33 songs in 3 hours 40 minutes. No hyperbole needed.
That was a rocknroll beating that felt so good.
I love how you said that it felt like it told a story. This is the connection that great music can make regardless of language or nationality.
Peace. 42.5

This exactly how I reacted. I had heard only two of their songs previously. This put me over the top and I’ve been a Maidiac ever since.
I was first in line at the recent HongKong concert and took a spot in front of KANAMI. My goodness.... I started crying when she played this song in her new outfit. So goddamn badass!!!

In your opinion, do you think they capture the mysteriousness and virtuosity of ghost?😊😊❤
I can't even go one calendar day without Band-Maid.
They started a Gun's and Roses concert with This!I think Axl Rose cried behind the scenes because he cant do this kind music anymore!
Highlights their song writing and technical skills. Song was intended as a show opener, and to display the band's instrumental chops to potential new fans as they started touring again after COVID. Saiki, lead singer, came up with that idea and asked Kanami, lead guitar, to whip some thing up!

I was so afraid it was going to be audio only with the album cover on screen! Whew!😂😂😂
Their bassist Misa is elite, period. Straight up nothing left to say about it.

BAND-MAID just dropped HATE-Live today which includes another Awesome guitar/bass conversation.
Hey 502, HATE-Live is a must. New album coming out this summer so get this one in. Thanx.
HATE-Live is the blockbuster performance you've been waiting for. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You oughta hear this live in person. Hits even harder

"Oh, my goodness!" Need anything more be said?
I saw them do this live, from about 15 feet away. Face-melting is a metaphorical expression, but in this case it was just about literal.
That lead guitar cracks me up .. She is a 100 pounds of pure Rock Star 😅. They all are .
The best band out there right now. Four years now, and I will never look back.

Kanami🥰took the vocals in her own hands on this one.
You should do Band-Maid more often!
This is the band of bands

Thank you for your fun reactions as always. “WITHOUT HOLDING BACK” is also their best instrumental song. Please feel free to respond.
Shame on you guys almost a year without watching BandMaid! You deserved to have them rip your face off! Thanks guys, great reaction.
Band Maid Forever ❤
Well I never…pretty damn good!!! It’s not just all noise either 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤘🏼
Jump in, set down, shut up, and hang on.
Check out a fan cam of the drummer playing ENDLESS STORY from their House of Blues concert in Chicago. Talk about emotional.
WARNING: Daydreaming will rip your heart out of your chest. Watch at your own risk
Sometime before 2024 ends you should check out Hate? from lollapalooza.
While Band Maid songs have anime theme elements, don't be confused that their songs are solely anime soundtracks, but honest-to-goodeness R&R, Punk, Metal, Blues, and everything in between.
I know what your New Years resolution is going to be - MORE BAND-MAID!
🤘🤘🤘
Tuned in hoping it was a cover of the Supertramp song with the same name...imagine my surprise. For this genre, good/very good
In addition to 'Shambles' there's another instrumental that's just as good as 'From Now On' called, 'Without Holding Back'. Maybe even better! They really don't hold back. I believe it's on the Instrumental Maid channel.
ok, we got:
the headbanger,
the stink face
and the giggly laughing.
Case closed on this one ;-)
This is soaring, triumphant music. You're right that it's emotional. I don't get it whenever anyone describes this as "just" an instrumental. Cheers
you guys need to watch Alone, the first song completely written and composed by the band music video, and HATE? official live
冒険のライトがあたったカナミの姿は、可愛いメイドさんなのに、何故か鋭い剣を構える戦士の後ろ姿に見えるのが不思議
The 317 checking in on the 502 guys. These girls rock!
Shredder's opera? It makes me hear Joe satriani , Steve Vai , ry cooder , late great Jeff beck....nice choice !
Well, well, well. The 502 have seen the error of their ways. And FROM NOW ON will be more aware. I know you enjoyed!
instrumental→Whiteroom MV👀👍
Try Without Holding Back
In a way this track it tells a story,-- the Unleash EP came out as they kicked off a massive US tour they had waited over 2 years to do while in lockdown and this opens it up! you owe it to yourself to check out Nemophila since you dig Band-Maid...they're my co-favorite modern bands...you want passion and energy the Nemophila gals bring it in force(suggest their cover of "Walk" by Pantera, or ac/dc "Whole Lotta Rosie", and defiantly check out one of Nemophila's originals-- "Oiran", "Dissension", "Monsters", or "Rise"..or "Life" is a great ballad by them for a change of pace,.... peace !
Time for Hate? guys. Live of course.
👍👍👍👍👍
What it says to me..... From now on this is what you're going to get from us...!!!
BAND-MAID are the best thing to happen since an alien race of concert venues decided to settle on Earth & allow the Maids to play live in them :)
I'm not quite sure what you said Gary, but I'll agree with you. LOL
