Excellent analysis guys, best I've come across, thanks. Gives me more of a clinical understanding to where it's at with the Roos and where, how and who it needs to be, in '25.
@@paradigmystic3123 Thank you very much, that’s a huge compliment! Will have more North content in the early new year so keep an eye out, also videos on each club before the year finishes if you want to watch some others Thanks again!
Just Subscribed! Really liked the analytical work behind this! Plenty of rationale and forward thinking to what North needs moving forward. Interesting to see your content across the off season.
Daniel is going to surprise a few, I think he was an astute pickup. Leadership, standards and effective disposal. Our back half is desperate for it to free up Sheezel and McKercher into attacking positions.
North's selection/drafting team let them down time and again, even when spoon fed top draft picks. It's clearly obvious to everyone that North Melbourne desperately need another mobile tall forward or two. This isn't a new problem and hasn't been addressed even with top draft picks in over a decade. The next major point of concern is North's complete lack of depth in Defense. Combden was a good find and Archer is developing, but if they get hurt or leave the ground then all hell breaks loose. 'No Defense, no flag' doesn't matter how much you jam talent into the midfield.

@ Pretty close to what I have. Similarly to the Eagles review, I’d say that fwd line is too tall, also it’s hard to predict Johnson’s output so he wont feature heavily in my projection.. Probs out just before or after Chrissy.
Would it be better to look at players from a stregths perspective as well as average. Above Average players - may not be top line players rather good ordinary players. Top players I imagine would have really good stats in the top echelon for certain areas - and potential poor / average in other stats
@@StMaanco certainly can look for the best of the best in specific areas and that concept will be something that I address in a holistic review of building a competitive club.. Will have that video out after each club is done, so probably early new year at this rate. As a little precursor, you’re not far off what I would call a ‘Pinch-hit’ type player, it’s built off a baseball term for a player that comes in to do only one job but do it well. In AFL it’s hard to carry too many pinch-hit type players in a side, because of many aspects of our game but the main problem becomes when you bring in a specific player to fill a statistical deficit, if that player is not at least average in every other key statical aspect of their role you’re essentially robbing Peter to pay Paul and need to continue down the route of getting another new player in to fill any newly created output voids. Hence if you’re comparing the output of 2 players, one with many aspects slightly above ave vs one with some very high stats and some very low stats, it’s better to have as many aspects as possible slightly above average as you can’t fall down a bad cascade effect.
Yeah fair call, numbers aren't everything but I just wasn't seeing tons stats wise from Scott or Phillips, I think you can cover the missing minutes with rotations from Sheezel and Parker, also to a lesser extent Daniel and McKercher.
Glad you liked it! Love Pommys work! I'll struggle to get a Carlton specific video done before the draft but will have one out not too long after, keep an eye out for it, might have a guest for it too :)
I love how footy youtube gives the smaller teams good analysis and discussion, great stuff
Incredible and in depth analysis of north, hope video explodes

Well done Woody, 😊you should sell it to the Roos, so many stat's.

Awesome stuff mate would love to se a Carlton list Analysis
Will have a Carlton list analysis coming not long after the draft
North's midfield lacks defensive capabilities and also lacks a big bodied mid. That's one of the reasons North is still too easy to score against.
I've sent it on to Ian and Oscar, they want one on Hawthorn. 😊
McDonald in our midfield 😂

15 small / medium forwards and 4 midfields. That is a recipe for disaster.
