I push manure with my MX 5400 out of my commercial chicken barn and push it all up into a big pile. Every time I ride up the pile and dump. As I reverse I'm slamming my loader down and bouncing the whole tractor in order to travel back to the front of the barn. This soft loader kit would be a huge benefit to me. I drive over big piles and I'm always bouncing like mad. This is a game changer for me 😀
This may be a must for me. I have a second hand L4200 with a 9 ft bradco backhoe that I have thus far only used for luging firewood poles out of my forest lot. The terrain is uneven and there are a number of small three to five inch diameter poles that are set across the the trails to help control run off. Whenever I go over these with any kind of weight I get more bounce than I would like. This may be my solution!
Would be great if they could send you one of these kits to test, would give a lot of us BX owners a real world user's experience before we decide whether we need/want it or not, and the cost associated with this kit.
These accumulators are at least as old as the the Citroen cars that used them in the 1960s for their hydraulic suspension. That car was way ahead of it’s time.
L6060 here. I lift heavy and travel across 40 acres with multiple surface conditions. I want it… but i want to be able to toggle it remotely. Good install tips! It’s good to know some extras might be required.
Yeah was thinking the same. I have a cab L6060 and having this as an option with an switched on/off would be awesome. I wonder if they have to go on the loader or if they can go nearer the loader valve on the tractor? I also wonder if this puts any additional stress on the loader hoses.
Awesome didn't realize they made them for smaller tractors. Always had them in Big cat loaders I ran and often wondered if they was a smaller variant. But I wonder if a electric solenoid instead of a ball valve can be used with a wire run up to the dash. You wouldn't have to get off the tractor to engage and disengage. Especially if you are working a hard pile and then ant farming it to another location
Good video, Neil. I have the Kubota Shockless Ride system on my M5660 with the LA 1182 loader and LOVE IT! I noticed the upper part of your ROPS flopping around probably making a lot of racket...is there not a way to snug it up?
Like this kit, I’ll have to try one some day.. there are many days I’m moving heavy material from one side of a property to the next so I know all about that loader bounce. Great video Neil, made me laugh watching you bounce across the yard in high range
id be curious if this slightly reduced lifting capacity but with a shut off valve that does eliminate any possible issues with reduced hydraulic pressure.
Appreciate the video - have been considering getting one of these for quite a while. Have a couple questions though: What type & size fittings are on each kit for tying into the loader? (e.g. is it 1/2" NPT threads? or ____?) Also, does this tie into the lift side of the loader hydraulic circuit? (I'm assuming so, but may have missed the verification & couldn't quite tell from the images).
Hi Neil fantastic bit of kit is that something I would be able to buy from you I live in the UK England unfortunately we have nothing like that here I own a John Deere 4066 and do a lot of roadwork so would be a good addition
Awesome video! Question, how would this work with a 3rd function kit, such as a grapple? I imagine it would make the grasping feature boggy/floaty, so you’d just shut the valve off.
Might be a good thing on a small backhoe. In a couple of conditions, the boom out cylinder "locks" with no fluid able to go in or out, than curl the bucket and you can bend the ram. Having accumulators on the in and out lines for that cylinder can save you from buying a new cylinder.
I'd love to have one but I can't justify $500 no more than use my LX. It's one of those options like mechanical self leveling that is awesome to have but hard to justify when you can get by without it.
what i want to know is how to increase the pressure to my hydraulics. AvE showed how on his JD but i own Challenger which is Agco and Iseki. didnt appear that i had the same part on mine.
Neal could this be installed closer to the cab and connected to the correct hydraulic line before the loader quick connect fittings? I have an LS MT4 58 that I would love to have this on. I would also consider the solenoid as we asked about in other comments as I like the idea of not getting on and off the tractor. I do a lot of carrying dirt in my loader as well as pushing snow with an 8’ snow pusher box so this seems like it could be a great benefit to me and how I utilize my tractor. Thanks in advance for your reply.
@@Sicktrickintuner True. And I don’t know how often I would need to turn that valve but a button and a few feet of wire would be worth it even if it saved me one climb down/up. If I know me, I’d probably end up just going with it in whatever position it’s in when I got up there instead of climbing back down. So It’d be worth it to me
Can the accumulator be installed on the tractor side of the loader supply? I have a LS mt335 with cab and I’d like to control the valve remotely with a cable or rod from inside the cab.
Yes it can. I made a kit for my Branson F36Rn and mounted the accumulator on the tractor side. I can also reach the On/Off valve without even leaving the seat and it stays in the tractor if I take the loader off. In your case with a cab, you can get a simple 12V operated hydraulic On/Off valve and use a button to turn it on or off somewhere in the cab.
Hey Neil - I'm curious about Hydraulic pressures when it comes to things like your hydraulic pump wearing out, and identifying that. For example on a BX tractor; Should you be able to raise an empty loader at 800 RPM? If not; should you be able to at 900RPM? (etc...) It would be nice to have a reference to compare. I realize fluid, and temp will also affect this.
I have never used a bx but 1200 is somewhat more of a normal idle rpm so possibly at that point it might start to move??? I would imagine literally everything would have an effect on what the exact point is, down to the grease you use lol
I will also add from my experience pumps don’t really wear out per say, it’s more of they work and build pressure and have correct flow or not. Usually faulty relief valves, restricted flow from debris, damaged o rings are culprits that people chalk up as a worn out pump
With the 4320 Deere I just sold, I always had to drive slow and watch where my loader arms were because I broke the (spun welded) fittings on the lift cylinders- only one cylinder at a time, but several times since it was new in 2008. This may have helped prevent those headaches on my 400CX loader. Needless to say I didn't order another Deere, because the current design still has those same problems. Went rogue and bought a new Toolcat UW53.
Would be nice.. but personally I can't justify it ($500) for the limited inconvenience not having it causes. If I was using the tractor all day every day.. yes, but not for limited 'homeowner' use I give my tractor.
Mine is far less noticeable since I did the 50 hour break-in service and change the hydrostatic oil to the synthetic fluid. Its still there, but far less annoying, but hey every hydro out there does it, its not just a Kubota thing, my lawn tractor is worse.
Some models of the the Kubotas whine much louder than other.brands I've driven. That & putting brake pedals in front of the treadle pedal is why I bought a competitors brand.
@@wildbill23c Depends on model. The L01 series had brakes on the right. The L02 (new series) has finally moved them to the left. But only 33hp and 39hp available yet, the L2501 is still old style.
I had no idea this was an option for a compact tractor. Thanks Neil!
We have had this on large equipment for at least 20 years. Quite happy to see it making its way to compact tractors
I think a lot of people would find this kit quite useful!!
Theres always people looking for a smoother ride!

Yes I have a BX23s for about 5yrs now . And this would really help for that tight suspension 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I can see that being very useful with pallet forks, or a grapple.
Thanks for the info on this kit, Neal! That’s a very cool loader add-on and one that I will consider.
Crazy how much of a difference that makes…. You could easily modify it to work with a 12v button and a solenoid instead of a lever to flip
These accumulators are at least as old as the the Citroen cars that used them in the 1960s for their hydraulic suspension. That car was way ahead of it’s time.

You cold mount it closer where you can reach the valve

Instead of a hand valve, get a hydraulic solenoid. It will do the same thing, but can be controlled by a switch, mounted wherever you want.
Love your videos. Very useful. Keep the good info coming..

A solenoid would be obvious and easy upgrade. I do like the simplicity of this.

Does it put extra stress on the hydraulic cylinders, or is it pretty much just a straight improvement?
Neil, do you need one of these accumulators for each arm (side) of your FEL?
After 10hrs on my BX doing brush grapple work, I will say the bouncing up and down really wears on you
Appreciate the video - have been considering getting one of these for quite a while. Have a couple questions though:

Totally different hydraulic loop. They do not interfere.
Thanks Neil awesome product and they do work nice
Hi great video!! I have the exact same tractor. Does one side of your loader lang lower then the other?
No, the hydraulics are all connected between the sides

Yes, you'd either need to work up a longer hose or add a solenoid valve. All easy hydraulic lego's, but not something we can sell you ready to go.
I need the EXACT setup you did as I have the same tractor rig you were demoing on…
I have two Kubota M62 (~60 hp). Which kit would be the better choice? < 60 HP or > 60 HP ?
Over 60
Is this a possibility for the 3pt on Kubota tractors? Similar to what RDO has for JD ones?
Thats cool, I've never seen that. Yes, you could do exactly the same thing. You'd just tie it to the 3pt circuit.
So for a L6060, I would want the larger kit ?
Nice Handy kit Thanks again
A couple hoses and you could position a valve at the operator station and not have to get on and off the tractor to switch between modes.
For the price of hoses, you can put a hydraulic solenoid also.

You would have to get creative with where you but things, but the pieces here tend themselves to that.
Yes it can. I made a kit for my Branson F36Rn and mounted the accumulator on the tractor side. Nitrogen used to precharge the accumulator?
Yes

Yes, with the caveats I covered.

BX has a really low idle speed. When rev'ed down the entire way the loader won't move. That's totally normal, just bump it up.
@@MessicksEquip Yeah exactly. If you slowly increase the RPM off idle, what is the lowest RPM that will slowly / barely lift the bucket?
@@andyh8239 No idea. If your looking that closely there will be variation between every tractor.

Well shucks massey isn't exclusive with this on the subcompact anymore.

No.
