The drumming in BOTH songs is INSANEEEE, psycho has super fun and yet punchy drums, and bad blood has it PURE EVIL
Something i've always felt that AA had good was their drummer, extremely underrated, even back then everyone was all over Danny and Ben and no one said a thing about their drummer, holy shit he's fucking tight.

The chorus in "Bad Blood" feels like everybody in the band wanted to go different direction and they couldn't come to an agreement so they just said: "f**k it, everybody can do whatever they want"
You know I got that vibe from the entire song, the structure was so unnecessarily convoluted
Same vibe i got from their live performances just before Danny dipped the band. He kept clean singing the stuff he used to scream.

Being completely honest, I LOVE new Asking Alexandria…. Dark Void was great, Psycho felt like genre bending and I loved that, and bad blood was a bit all over and I’m all for it. Looking forward to more new songs from themes!!!
The drummer is definitely the best member
Well that's true for a lot of bands if the drummer is shit then the band will be too, but if the drummer is good like this one then the rest of the band will be good. And honestly you should never fault AA, their last few albums have been professional quality.
I can probably see the demographic for asking Alexandria. It’s definitely way different from what it used to be but i can tell AA now is more radio friendly. It’s something for a demographic that likes popy beats but also radio rock friendly that you can listen too. AA now is mostly for radio rock red necks if you get my drift.
Both these songs are good. The cleans vocals over the heavy intrumental in Bad Blood is cool.
Psycho is objectively awful. A truly terrible song.

@@tiarlyn It's an objectively corny play on current radio rock standards with outdated hi hat driven verses that bands and country artists ripped off from hip hop artists.
It's got the worst of the rap melody influence bands like Imagine Dragons started a decade ago, and the worst of the butt rock chorus influence that's been stale for going on 15 years now. I mean lets be real, Puddle of Mudd made a way better psycho song.
This song sucks because it passes as "creative", "refreshing", and "trying something new" to people who started listening to music yesterday; but it's not any of those things.
Why don't you come up with some new material? I like plenty of bands that aren't heavy, and plenty of them started out being much heavier than AA ever have been. AA just fucking sucked at evolving their sound.

@SFuture Yeah, its tied with their debut album for me. Just a nice hard rock album that doesnt do to much. And the song "youve made it this far" on the album makes me so emotional

I couldn‘t agree less. THIS is exactly what I‘ve been waiting for since Danny‘s return. Self-titled record was really nice, House On Fire had very good song writing but wasn‘t really special beyond that, last album was pretty forgettable, but now they finally break out of the genre standards and make their music special and interesting again like they last did on From Death To Destiny. Bad Blood combines all of the best aspects of AA from recent years and longer into the past while Psycho goes perfectly blends more poppy elements that we didn‘t have in that way yet but we still keep the banger drumming. All written very well. Very happy to have both AA and BMTH at probably the strongest points of their career at the moment 👏
Bad blood is good. Although I like the heavy parts I actually love the 2nd verse the best. Sounds like the 2nd verse to Dear Insanity from R&R.
Psycho is good too, only because it's more imaginative than something like Antisocislist.
my biggest gripe with Asking as of late was that there was a lack of imagination, but these two singles actually are something new that they haven't done in that way before.

Their previous album was honestly actually very good to me personally and that's coming from someone who's fav AA album is Stand Up And Scream. But the new tracks aren't really doing it for me too much though.
Maan, been listening to them since 2009 and still love it. Different, yes, but still very much enjoyable.

I'm gonna be honest, this band has never really connected with me no matter how many times I've tried, but from what I've heard over the years, I truly wish we could've seen the version of this band where Dennis was still singing. I actually thought that album had something going for it.
I wouldn't say Psycho is bad. Its got the groove, in some parts very much so. Although the chorus is a bit too much in there.
Or when Sleep Token does that (things like rnb sequences and such) - it's crazy good, when someone else does it's bad? 😏

The chorus on psycho sounds like new Fall Out Boy. It’s also interesting to note in these newer songs, the drummer sounds like he’s trying to go heavy, while the rest of the band is still trying to do butt rock.

The second song feels like a 3 days grace song trying to be a panic at the disco track. Didn't quite hit right but that doesn't mean the song was bad musically.

I love how everyone wants stand up and scream again when Danny openly admits that he can't sound like that anymore.😅 Music changes had to be made to fit his voice. Besides, they want big arena music to make the 💰💰. You can't scream like he did and try to sing like he does now. Even with technique, it lessens the blow however overtime you will still experience difficulties. I'd prefer he sing more than scream. There was only one show I can say he did a great job screaming and singing his ass off and that was in 2011 warped tour north Carolina. You coud already hear the changes in his voice but I think that was the best I've ever seen.
I like the new record but it's not my favorite. Bad blood, dark void, nothing left and where do we go from here, are the best in my opinion.
i think bad blood has a few cool elements to it that just don't work that well in tandem with each other (blast beat chorus is weird as well) and psycho is just... i wanted it to be over halfway into the first chorus. the lyrical content is severely lacking in both and it feels like they're just throwing random stuff at the wall hoping it sticks.
They shoud've honestly rebranded to Nevermind Alexandria

Bad Blood Sounds like Self-titled Album from 2017 meets From Death to Destiny and Psycho Sounds like a B-Side that wasn’t included in Like a House on Fire but I do respect the Genre bending on that song. I’ll definitely pick the first single over the second one any day of the week

Yeah, they certainly didn't need the blast beats to open the chorus, it felt very out of place. If they closed the chorus with a quick blast beat, that would have worked a lot better.

The more I hear AA the more I start to dislike Danny's vocals. I respect what they've been doing the last few years with the new sound but its just not good. Its just goofy lyrics and boring chorus then they throw in a breakdown at the end just cuz. I haven't enjoyed anything since self titled honestly. Its like Danny so badly wanted to do country or something and then they met somewhere in the middle to still be "heavy". Their sound feels so mismatched and all over the place. His vocals don't compliment the heaviness in any way.
Is it their best stuff ? Hell no. But the 3 singles are def the best they've done since the Selftitled, at least for me, and I enjoy it honestly.

the sound at the beginning of bad blood kind of 100% reminds me of MOTIONLESS IN WHITE scoring at the end of the world the self titled album track Bogdan dude/bro just be glad it is not a cover of a very annoying Taylor Swift song/track Danny's singing/clean vocals remind me of JAMES MICHAEL of SIXX AM a little bit the other track kind of sound like a mix/mashup between FALL OUT BOY and PANIC! AT THE DISCO and IMAGINE DRAGONS MUSE Twenty One Pilots Fitz and the Tantrums

The second song sounds like they were trying to hard to be trap and pop. It doesn’t work simply because the Melodie’s and the way it was written doesn’t really fit that style.
In all of the heavier parts in the newer songs the mix is so off imo sounds so unclear and muffled.
Honestly i like newer AA then old AA
