it sounds so good from a distance but after 8 or 12 hours of being close to that wonderful sound and your ears ringing I guarantee you have had enough of that screaming jimmy.
That’s what my favorite school bus back in the day sounded like! Lol it was one of the old Twinkie buses with the Detroit and it was a double axle, extra long bus. I would love to find that bus now, and buy it!
The Old Twinkies from Crown Coach Works were state of the art for their time. When I was in kindergarten, there were still some in regular service, but most of them were used as substitutes. There was one, bus number 48, no matter what they did to it, always rolled coal.
Actually that sounds like a 92 series. Dont know why but i kept Thinking it was gonna shift to another gear. Guess im use to hearing them in fire trucks
It's 2021 and yet there's still Detroits serving critical roles all over the world I love it. You can't kill these things
One of the finest engines ever built - in production for almost sixty years.

So was my first ever school bus on my first day of kindergarten and it was my lucky number, Bus #7. Unfortunately they retired her the following year!

They love to be ran hard like that all day long. Best marine diesels ever.
Pure awesome! I want that ring tone!
That's gotta be an ol' 2stroke diesel.
Correct
Love it!
That sounded great.
Thank you for that!
Sounds similar to the Napier Deltic as used on the Class 55 Deltic Locomotive in the UK.
Reminds me of a GM 3800 V6!
LOVE IT !!!!
and no turbo too. pure unadulterated noise
From the bridge of a 210!
Indeed it is. CGC Venturous.
Duckz nutz
Sounds like detroit diesel 8v71 or similar
It sounds like a 6v71 - more raspy under load than an 8v71. (Video description also says 6v71)
Read the description !!
Well aren't you quick. It only tells you what it is in the title of the video that you must have seen when you decided to click on it.
@@lyman135 aren’t you clever to notice it too sarcastic git!! You really are a dick
My youngest son skippers a boat a little larger than this one with twin 8v71s.
Yup... if noise was horsepower, it’d have a thousand. Was even worse in a truck.
When she says come over.
I think i came a bit
🤣
Detroit make moist dreams....
