  • (I did this video to help/guide new engineer as I did not find any for my self when I started. I don't longer work there.)
    In this video, I am showing the stages it takes to find the customer's signal cable. In this case, it took me three attempts.
    Please note that the area I worked doing this video was a residential area and early in the morning.

    Only just discovered your videos last night. I found them very informative. I was wondering if you would possibly be able to make a video on tools required for working in this industry? I am just starting out in telecommunications and it would be very helpful.

      Was a closed residential place in construction so all areas were close with gates.

    Looks like a dummy cab to me

      vm's cabs don't need power, they are passive. the cab just contains adapters to split out the frequencies/channels for each customer

      @@NicholasElliott doesn't the amp need power to supply the tap banks with signal

      @@markoneill3553 As far as I know the amplification is usually done further upstream. The majority of the 'last-mile' cabs on residential streets are passive

      @@NicholasElliott ahh ok. I'm an engineer in London and all our cabs have amps feeding the taps. If the amp isn't plugged in then there's no signal

      @@NicholasElliott every cab I've been to and its all attached to mdf board has been a dummy cab
