    Nice little simple watch and nice maintenance.
    I do some hobby level clock restoring;
    to remove and refit the balance wheel I use: do it first of all, removing the pin to free the hairspring and then unscrew the bottom bolt of the balance wheel until it is free to be removed: then the platine can be unbolted and all the wheels removed.
    To put it back I do the reverse, re-installing the balance wheel as last piece of the clock.
    You have now a lot of nice clock to deal with.... enjoy it, and let us enjoy follow your videos.
    ciao

      Hi Daniele, Thanks for the comment. Yes you are right about the balance, I only realised it when I put the mechanism back together, then had to take out the balance to adjust the hairspring. Being self taught, I'm always learning and very much appreciate comments likes yours which help me grow.

    Up to speed as usual. Good to see you back working on the clocks and you have done a great job on it. Maybe I will give an hairspring jobbie a wirl - but I've still got slate clocks to sort out. Never ends. Thanks for the video.

      Hi Spencer. I really enjoyed doing this one. I will be doing more clocks as soon as Ive finished off this car I'm working on. Clocks are so much easier and quicker to complete than classic cars, not to mention the expense.

    The rate adjuster should form a u shape that the hairspring passes through which should also stop it rubbing against the post that it passes through. Hope this helps. I have a few of this type of movement and as you say they are fiddly, but that's a good restoration. Alan.

      Hi Alan, I was kind of thinking the same about the adjuster. I just need to see a photograph of something similar so that I can work from. Its still running but is going quite fast. I'll do a little investigating and see what I can come up with

    HI,
    Am looking to start playing with clocks, thanks for the intro.
    I'm in my 50's and an electonics engineer, been through some stuff and looked at starting having a play with clocks :)
    I do know a bit about pidgeon racing and the timing :)

      Hi Trikky
      Have a look at some of my older videos. I have done some detailed breakdown and rebuilds which you might find interesting. I am self taught and still constantly learning. its a cheap and fun hobby. I am sure you'll enjoy it.

    Beautiful! That hairspring may be as it was designed. I do some old pocket watches and its common to find a type where the spring reaches over to attach to the balance cock. The clock runs well. I wouldn't fuss with it. Nice job!

      Thank you, Its been a couple of days and the clock is still going, although its running pretty fast. I think I need to take a good look at the adjuster and see what I can do with it
