I have both and agree that lego is absolutely better...just not 500.00 dollars better. I had 2 very minor missing pieces from Ali and none missing from lego. Ali express titanic for under 200 beats lego in every category for me. If I just went ali express at the end of the day I'd have an excellent titanic model on my shelf and an extra 500 in my pocket...or...if I was REALLY worried about missing pieces I could buy TWO Ali express titanic kits with an entire shipload of spare parts and still have over a hundred dollars extra in my pocket!

However, on the second one l had more time to understand how well it was designed.
But the Aliexpress one is also a stolen design. They had to invest no time in designing and development. So yeah it makes sense that the copy is cheaper - because they stole the design plain and simple.
I personally built the Ali Express version of this Titanic model. I was not missing any parts and the build went really well. I actually built the ship using Lego instructions in PDF form on an Android tablet. The appearance is identical to the Lego version but at a fraction of the price. I saved a good $600! Although I prefer Lego products, their prices are outrageous and the common person just can't justify the cost. In recent times I have purchased all my large scale building block models from Ali Express.
I have seen a lot of replies like yours and l get it. Lego is expensive but one has to remember that Ali kits just copied all the work done by Lego. My seller is no longer in business, there are lots of others that sell those but you would want to read the sellers reviews. But it’s best to buy the Lego model as it’s the real one.
I have had the legit lego Titanic for apx 1.5 years now and the thing has never had issues with stuff falling off. I regularlly move it for cleaning and when I do I take the small parts off the upper decks like lifeboats, cranes, etc and they always go back as they should too.
@@verios44 the Lego parts fit much better and also go together better. The fake ones have some that are really loose and others that are hard to put together. I do prefer the real one myself.
Interesting, I had a very different experience with the Ali Modell... Shipping was very quick (around a week), came in a beautiful painted box, perfect packaging with the small bags, quality of the pieces and fitting is so much better than LEGO ainec (one piece was damaged though, but it was a piece on the inside, so no big deal), colours overall better but close, and the price is another point. Yes, it's a ripoff, but LEGO has to step up biiiiig time in every aspect, and i don't mean increase prices.
I think there is more than one version of the Chinese set as l have heard similar experiences before. I agree it’s not a bad set and when it comes to the value for money it does make you think. There is such a huge difference in price there.
I also got lucky with a nice box when I got the Coliseum from Herotoyz, I think in my case it was because it shipped from their USA warehouse and I'm also in USA. But when I order from China, it's always a generic box.
The AliExpress companies have been listening to reviews and making their stuff better, and is good enough for me usually anyway...I have this set, an Eiffel Tower, UCS Venator, UCS executor, UCS millennium falcon, UCS star destroyer, UCS Slave 1, UCS razor crest, and it all was under 700 usd total. So BARELY more than the lego titanic alone. A lot of these sets dont exist new and used are INSANE in price(literally more than any driving vehicle ive bought)
I agree with you on discontinued sets, l do not have an issue with those. The prices on the used market is totally crazy, on current sets l think Lego could do better on pricing. But l still have a hard time with a company copying a product without paying anything for it in terms of development. You brought up some really good points here thank you.
@@BlocksontheBrink LEGO is the richest building piece company on earth and makes STUPID profit on every set. Im glad theres someone to undercut them tbh, they are greedy tbh

I’ve had similar experiences with AliExpress sets. I bought an AliExpress version of BrickVault’s custom UCS style (but minifigure scale) B Wing from Star Wars. If I had bought the design from brickVault and sourced the parts it would have cost me a small fortune- as much as buying the larger UCS B wing set now that it’s retired. But the Aliexpress version only cost me £50. And whilst the quality of the pieces is obviously very different I was still able to build the design for a relatively cheap price. I had planned to rebuild the B wing with real LEGO over time, but as it’s a display piece I haven’t seen the need to.
they will even get better those chinese sets and i really think that lego is going to far with how much they sometimes ask for a set, so in my opinion if lego doesnt go cheaper they will loose out. one other point is for now lego will hold its value but thats still for now.
Yes Lego sets do tend to hold their value, when they go out of production the prices skyrocket. One set we wanted was $200 when new and we had to pay double that as it was out of production.
I did it in my first video and reused that bit in this one. For the first video l was trying to make it 8 minutes but l was so overwhelmed by the contents of that box l cut it short at 4! It was not until the next day l worked out their numbering system. I had visions of having to sort over 9000 pieces. It all worked out in the end.
I got the Alitanic and was pleasantly surprised about the quality.I got the one without pretty box and without manual. I just used Lego's manual in the Lego app on my iPad. Worked like a charm. Of course I'd rather have the original, but chuffing up an extra 570eu is just not worth it for me. (130eu vs 700eu)
@@mousetreat Same here. Bought the original Lego Eiffel Tower. Couldn’t afford a second 700 euro set. The Ali version dominates my living room. Love the set. If Lego would do something about their prices I wouldn’t even look at Ali
People on here mentioning the price difference. It's a rip off of a Lego set, Ali don't have to spend on any R&D so its not fair to compare prices. Aside from this isn't stealing another companies IP illegal? I mean this is an exact replica
That’s my issue it is an exact replica and l thought it might have had some differences but none l can see. I did not compair pricing for this reason none of the work just an exact copy.
I agree, Buying authentic LEGO and supporting the original designers, partnerships and IP is the ONLY way to go! I really appreciate you mentioning that at the end of your video. Cheers!
@@BlocksontheBrink Yep. I want to buy from lego but I cannot just drop 300+ dollars on a single lego set. I won't even touch it after I finish building it anyway so knockoff is way better value wise.
How cool is it with a V4 109HP replica Ferrari? Fortunately, most fake stuff is considered more or less worthless, forever. That there is a market for such is completely unbelievable. If they had invented their own different brick, then yes. There is always something in life that a man cannot afford. Buying a VW bubble with a Ferrari body solves nothing, it's ridiculous

You didn't mention the prices here , by the price performans 3,5 times better then lego. With the lego prices you can buy titanic and 5 other sets in ali. So i have the original one , i m definitely gonna buy from ali after this time. So i can enjoy and save money to go vocation
I am for sure not promoting it. The idea is to show the difference and why Lego is a better buy. I am with you here, as l said in the video it’s not right the just copy Lego and sell it cheap.

Never seen the Lego titanic in person but I have the AliExpress one and honestly I love it. Although the quality isn’t the same I can imagine it’s still very good to me. Great video 👍
LEGO has brought this on themselves, by massively overpricing their sets, and the Chinese copy quality is really catching up! I have sets both genuine LEGO and copy sets, and you can notice a difference, but not much!! And at on some kits 6 times less in cost, to get pretty much the same build, its totally worth it! Only thing is, you just have to shop about and find the best price and best seller with reviews, as that makes all the difference in getting a good quality model and quickly, and no you dont get all the stories and information about the model like you do with LEGO, or the presentation, but if you dont care about that and just want the model, then theres just no point in paying all that money, LEGO can make these kits wayyyy less in price, they just won't! With LEGO you are paying Designer label prices.
I am with you on the price Lego is getting very expensive, it’s interesting that those fake sets are sold so cheap but Lego is sold so high. Again you are correct that Lego is a better quality kit but the price difference is very large.
@BlocksontheBrink yeh, I think because of the growth in popularity of LEGO over recent years they have gotten greedy, I mean yeh the presentation of their boxes and build books is phenomenal, lots of work goes into that, but for those of us that are only interested in the build and final product, maybe LEGO should offer the cheaper sets without all the story and fancy stuff, and give it to use in basic brown box packaging too. At a substantial price drop, they I think a while lot of people would buy it. Just save the high price presentation stuff for the big spenders, personal I don't have the room to keep the LEGO boxes, but it would be awful to throw them away, so having no room for all that, I don't need it,so I get the cheaper copies instead.
@ I think they should offer cheaper sets and try to give more value. The sets from China are really cheap so there must be something Lego could do it meet in the middle.
@@BlocksontheBrink absolutely! The only one thing that makes Lego worth more, is the fact they put the R&D into designing and building the models to start with, and so that can obviously bump the price up, but then, even after that you now have other companies that design and produce their own builds now too, like Mould King, Cada, Guly etc, to name a few, there is well over 15 other manufacturers that design their own models now, using the Lego pieces as a basis, but the fact that just on production of pieces alone is about 1/6th the cost of Lego, and that some of these replica kits are as low as £40, where as Lego are at £390 at it's cheapest, yet they still make a profit, shows Lego are clearly charging too much! I think, for an example the McLaren P1, from Lego in the UK, Costs £389, I got my identical copy for less than £60!! So being that Lego quality is only a tiny bit better nowadays than these copies, and that they did their initial work into the design, I think no more than £100 MAX for that model, direct from Lego, that's fair. Then their sales would fly through the roof, and copies wouldn't have so much of a market. But, just like all big companies like that, they get soooo up themselves, and over charge, that customers are forced to go elsewhere, like I did. Other companies like Apple & Samsung have done the same, priced up their products SOOO high, people, even loyal fans, buy elsewhere!
@@fieldie I think you are spot on three, yes the quality is a bit lower and so is the price! The bigger the set the better the savings and l hear from a lot of people on here the same thing. Lego is too expensive vs copy sets. While l do not agree with a company copying another design to stop it Lego needs to work on their prices and for sure they could do that. The difference in price between my two Titanic’s is huge!
there are plenty of cheaper brands wich are a good sub if you find lego to expensive. but they actualy design their own sets. this is just a complete rip-off from the lego design. wich a higly skilled designer is payed for to design. pls never buy this crap. try to avoid buying cheap knock off toys from chinese sites in generall btw. Danish reseach found that many toys sold on these websites had toxic chemicals in them wich cause cancer.
I totally agree with you on the property rights and hopefully my video points out the shortcomings of the cheaper sets. Lego is a much better product and l have built other off brand sets and those were not too bad. The issue with this set is it’s a total copy of the Lego Titanic.
I have only so far had one set that I used white craft glue on some small parts . These copy's are there for people like me .I want to play but can not pay .. Until the fakes !!
Giving a best only review isn’t as helpful as giving a percentage review for each section. Lego will will almost every time . Ali express is brought for cost savings. If everybody had limitless funds they wouldn’t have a business. However for value for money they are 95%+. With Lego you pay for better packaging, instructions, bricks. Nobody would know the difference unless they know what to look for and get close enough to spot it.
Even with all the knock offs being sold lego is still a 10 billion turnover very succesfull company and the biggest toy company in the world. I would do aliexpress for sure. ANd buy some.superglue from the money I save to fix things on it.
I think the only problem with these Sets, is STEALING intellectual property. For the rest I've tried several, of old Unobtainable sets, and all in all they're not bad.
@@___-6040-___ Titanic is still made but Lego retires sets for example the Old Fishing Store. Once gone one is forced to buy on the resellers market and that can get expensive.

I even can’t build with Ali “Lego” The edges of the bricks are to sharp for me. And have to “work” really hard to connect everything together. With real Lego it’s more smooth and easy to handle. Therefore i will never buy Ali bricks ever again
I forgot about that good point. Yes l must admit it was a bit painful at times to put some of the parts together. As stated by you best to buy the real set.
Either you have the real thing, or you have a knockoff. Folks have spent years trying to replicate the quality of LEGO. folks also seem to miss the point that LEGO customer service is amazing! My seller is no longer in business, there are lots of others that sell those but you would want to read the sellers reviews. But it’s best to buy the Lego model as it’s the real one.
After all it's a model not a play set, so the end result is most important. But one thing might also be interesting: Will parts break after some time?
That is a very good question, l have heard others having problems with bits falling off when the ship gets hot or moving it.
Will the color hold up over time or will the Ali Express be more likely to fade or discolor
@@davidk4145 That’s a great question and to be honest l do not know. I guess time will tell, if l notice a change l will post a video on it.
@@vegasgamedude4379 that’s good to know, thank you
Can you give me the seller/shop name on ali?
@@Shadow0fd3ath24 l totally agree the prices are out of hand.
I got the version from Temu and its surprisingly a good build. The book isnt the greatest and all bags are numbered.
It seems that there are different versions depending on who you buy it from. Some even have a full color box.
@@BlocksontheBrink it came in a temu box, so I'm guessing it was reboxed. I used to buy a lot of flego minifigures and rarely I'd get a set in a box, they claimed it was cheaper to ship without the box as everything was shipped in bags
Thank you for your comments, the truth is from a distance you really cannot see the difference between the two sets.
Its fake. Sit on that for a bit
Really good vid
Thank you so much
they will even get better those chinese sets and i really think that lego is going to far with how much they sometimes ask for a set, so in my opinion if lego doesnt go cheaper they will loose out. one other point is for now lego will hold its value but thats still for now.
Yes Lego sets do tend to hold their value, when they go out of production the prices skyrocket. One set we wanted was $200 when new and we had to pay double that as it was out of production.
I had Deja Vu of when you open the box on the table and started open it
I did it in my first video and reused that bit in this one. For the first video l was trying to make it 8 minutes but l was so overwhelmed by the contents of that box l cut it short at 4! It was not until the next day l worked out their numbering system. I had visions of having to sort over 9000 pieces. It all worked out in the end.
Yes the second was funny not quite the same as the first one right.
Of course LEGO will be better, but is it worth 5 times the price?
That is the question!
I thought about using the Lego manual myself but wanted to do it like l did not have the Lego one. But you are correct they are the same parts wise.
@@mousetreat
Same here.
Its fucking lego. There should be cheaper alternatives to their overpriced shit they put out nowadays.
much better getting the trumpeter, than lego model. honestly. or the titanic Hatchette,
😇
I would tend to agree with you there and great point. Thank you
People can NOT afford Lego’s
HEY kislux !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
The fact you can buy 3 flego titanic to 1 lego ones
That’s is true!
The Lego titanic forgot a flag it’s White Star Line The Company that build the titanic
My Lego Titanic has one l made it, l have a video on it. The Ali one does not, but Lego does not include one either.
Lego manufactur in china. Thats way almost same. I am %100 sure both manufactured in same plant.
Thats interesting, l will have to research it
I agree, Buying authentic LEGO and supporting the original designers, partnerships and IP is the ONLY way to go! I really appreciate you mentioning that at the end of your video. Cheers!
Thank you
Wouldn't touch any non-LEGO product knock-offs even if you paid me.
I can understand that, l am fond of Lego myself and did this to compare the two. But l do feel they could do better with the pricing.
@@BlocksontheBrink Yep. I want to buy from lego but I cannot just drop 300+ dollars on a single lego set. I won't even touch it after I finish building it anyway so knockoff is way better value wise.
@ l get it and you have a very valid point
You should weigh them.
Great idea thank you
How cool is it with a V4 109HP replica Ferrari?
Fortunately, most fake stuff is considered more or less worthless, forever.
That there is a market for such is completely unbelievable.
If they had invented their own different brick, then yes. There is always something in life that a man cannot afford. Buying a VW bubble with a Ferrari body solves nothing, it's ridiculous
That’s my issue with those sets great value but total ripoff Legos sets!
Bought the Ali Ghostbuster headquarter for 80$ shipped...amazing!!! Lego's been very very greedy...Going China from now on...let the free market deal with the moral qualms...
I have to agree there is a big difference in cost, however the copies have no development costs.
You didn't mention the prices here , by the price performans 3,5 times better then lego. With the lego prices you can buy titanic and 5 other sets in ali. So i have the original one , i m definitely gonna buy from ali after this time. So i can enjoy and save money to go vocation
Good point there, l stayed away from pricing but l admit l should have talked about it.
Don't promote these thieves... even comparing it is an insult to Lego and all who worked on designing the model
I am for sure not promoting it. The idea is to show the difference and why Lego is a better buy. I am with you here, as l said in the video it’s not right the just copy Lego and sell it cheap.
Sit down you balloon 😂
If it isn't for the stolen content, especially after watching this video, i would buy the ali-express in a heartbeat.
But i am just going to keep on saving untill i can buy the real thing for myself.
The Lego set is better so your making the right choice.
In conclusion: for all your flag-related needs, Aliexpess is the place to go! 😅
That’s funny thank you!
Never seen the Lego titanic in person but I have the AliExpress one and honestly I love it. Although the quality isn’t the same I can imagine it’s still very good to me. Great video 👍
It is not bad it’s just not quite as good as Lego. Thank you for you kind words about the video.
You need to do mould King next for a lego & mould King comparison
Thank you for that idea

Ali Express is affordable for most people .. Lego prices are stupid money because they can .I would never buy legos!! Way to much money!!

I have only so far had one set that I used white craft glue on some small parts . These copy's are there for people like me .I want to play but can not pay .. Until the fakes !!
@@dodgecoronet7544They are for sure much cheaper
Of course its affordable, they just do copy/paste + low quality!
@ yes l agree the quality is a bit lower for those sets
Giving a best only review isn’t as helpful as giving a percentage review for each section. Lego will will almost every time . Ali express is brought for cost savings. If everybody had limitless funds they wouldn’t have a business. However for value for money they are 95%+. With Lego you pay for better packaging, instructions, bricks. Nobody would know the difference unless they know what to look for and get close enough to spot it.
Thank you, l will look at doing that next time. To be honest l really wanted to give an overview of the two sets together. Thank you again
Even with all the knock offs being sold lego is still a 10 billion turnover very succesfull company and the biggest toy company in the world. I would do aliexpress for sure. ANd buy some.superglue from the money I save to fix things on it.
Thank you great comments. I only needed glue on bow and that was no more than 10 bricks. But what do you expect for the price right.
I think the only problem with these Sets, is STEALING intellectual property. For the rest I've tried several, of old Unobtainable sets, and all in all they're not bad.
I would agree and you bring up a good point of sets that are no longer available. It’s either pay a lot of money or find another way.
What? Which set is no longer available?
@@___-6040-___ Titanic is still made but Lego retires sets for example the Old Fishing Store. Once gone one is forced to buy on the resellers market and that can get expensive.
@@BlocksontheBrink ahhh okok thk!
You can not really compare as the Lego set will hold its value or increase. The knock of crap is pretty much worthless apart from... nope got nothing it's worthless
For sure the Lego Titanic is going to go up in value
I even can’t build with Ali “Lego” The edges of the bricks are to sharp for me. And have to “work” really hard to connect everything together. With real Lego it’s more smooth and easy to handle. Therefore i will never buy Ali bricks ever again
I forgot about that good point. Yes l must admit it was a bit painful at times to put some of the parts together. As stated by you best to buy the real set.
Either you have the real thing, or you have a knockoff. Folks have spent years trying to replicate the quality of LEGO. folks also seem to miss the point that LEGO customer service is amazing! You can't replicate that. I'm fine with spending the dough for a "complete" set. I got a knockoff titanic for my b day, and I couldn't have been more shocked or disappointed at the level these companies will go to fake a real brand. Shame on you! Make you're own stuff. Get by on your own merit. Post your own ideas, then see if your cheap garbage can compete!
I believe that’s what my video is about. The whole idea is to show the difference between the two. I am with you on that Lego is a much better product and those copies are not as good for sure. I would not say they are terrible quality but not as good, l have said it and will say it again. My biggest issue is that they took a product and wholesale copied it and you are correct that’s just not right at all.
Five missing parts in a LEGO set? That's Trump like fake news. And the LEGO service knows you forever...
I actually said a couple of small pieces missing from the Lego set, the fake one is the one with more bits missing. I did also mention the great customer service with Lego, my comparison was heavily for the Lego set. I could not agree with you more that Lego is a better product.
@@BlocksontheBrink "A couple of small pieces". Not only because of the extra parts, but that's not true and makes no sense. Builded 2000+ LEGO sets.
@@DerHoschi it happens and in my case it did. Legos customer service was amazing and l had the parts in a week. Again my review was very positive about the Lego set and l love Lego myself. However I can buy the titanic for 1/5 of the original price, and although frustrating when finished you would not know the difference
I can see where you are coming from, and to be honest Lego should work on their pricing. It’s a shame when people are priced out of buying those kits and then end up buying the knock off ones. I also tend ro agree that from a distance it’s hard to see.
