Can I power on and power off this miner if I have free electricity only 6 hours per day? Does that switch on anf off compromise the miner hardware? What is the best way to manage these power on and off in order to preserve the hardware?

Yes you can, you just need to power manage your PDU, you can use a smart PDU, or rig your own automated system to cut power to a specific socket or breaker.
