As a Spurs fan I can say that there's no system at Spurs currently. Ange's mantra appears to be, attack is the best (and only) form of defence. Everytime the goalkeeper and the makeshift defence try to play it out from the back you need to hold your breath, because you know all too often there's confusion and the ball is lost on the edge of the 18 yard line putting them back under pressure.
Sarr is ok. Bissouma, Johnson, Werner definitely not good enough. Bentancur has probably had his chances now And when Romero comes back he needs to pull his finger out. Lastly it's unfortunate but we need a long term replacement for son, now I love son but he's 32-3 and is not getting any younger or better. Problem is I don't trust our recruitment.

This is nonsense, we're without 4 of our back 5, and it's not just the defensive ability of the 2 cbs especially. both vdv and romero are VITAL to our buildup. Ange likes to suck teams onto us and then break the press and have space at their defence, romero is one of the best ball playing cbs itl and his line breaking passes made us so much more difficult to press, while vdv could break the press with his pace and power being able to dribble through it. The problem lies with dragusin being a pretty poor passer and quite predictable, as gakpo eluded to after the 6-3 as he was targeted, and gray still being young and a better passer but still playing on his weak side. Its a failure of recruitment not to have the same profiles to replace injuries
