So I own a 503 and I was looking for info on the 511 to see if I wanted to add one to the fleet or be happy with my 503, I am a driver but also a collector. You sir have made it blatantly obvious to me that the 511 was just as important a buggy to TRF as the 503 was if not more so. Taking the 201 to victory in the 2wd the 511 gave them the 4wd in the same year with you at the wheel. I do need to add a 511 to my Tamiya collection, very much so. I enjoy these cars for the fun they bring and I very much appreciate the workmanship and design that goes into them. To me TRF off road buggies are like hanging paintings on the wall, to me they have the same aesthetic appeal. Like most out there I grew up with Tamiya having the Hornet as my first car back in the 80's, like most I still very much enjoy Tamiya cars today. Both for their fun, their workmanship and most importantly the role Tamiya played in the history of RC and the industry as a whole. They stirred a generation and that light still burns brightly. Long Live Tamiya RC, great video. Thanks for the story you told, it adds color to an already bright history.

Fantastic vid, I’ve acquired a 501 and it’s a stunning piece of kit. There are noticeable differences on the 511. Did you ever drive a 501 and if so how did it compare to the 511?

Hi Duncan, Thank you for the comments and sorry, but I didn't drive the 501! I heard it was similar performance but a little more difficult to work on. :)
