Of all the many episodes I’ve seen of Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, this was the first time I saw someone screw over Thelma the dressmaker.. it made me so sad, like i feel protective of her because she works so hard!
She said she's not beautiful but she wants to look good! She is beautiful, and that was prior to her hair and makeup. She looked more beautiful for her special day.
That mum is terrible telling Violet to learn to keep her mouth shut and would be kicked back to be made to try and make a go of it, and have to do what Larry says!!
Me too I've rewatched these so many times I love me but I'm not a huge fan of the US show seen them all too but they are more for shock than anything hardly anyone marries in church and it's easy to see why bc most don't even make it through the vowels before the there is a huge fight usually over something ridiculous and then the cops come, everything is over, beautiful dresses made for nothing, insane violence that proves nothing and then it's on to the next episode.. The uk series is done much better and to me shows the neg and positives about the culture in a documentary style so you actually learn things not just watch to see who gets beat up or if the wedding makes it to the end 😆😮😮

Donna here. You know what is absolutely shocking to me is how the young girls are encouraged to dress like street walkers and dance like whores, but yet stay pure as the driven snow for their groom. Makes no sense!
It's part of our culture. It's partly because travelling girls are never alone without a chaperone around boys and also they never engage in sex before marriage etc. so there is no implications of dressing in short skirts as nothing happens without parents knowing.
They dress very appropriately for their Employment Interviews. The rest is just details ;-) Hey, it works for them and I wish *every* bride and bridegroom no matter what they wear (or not) the very best on their new life together-cheers!

Since details are massively important, it was almost certainly done intentionally, probably because the brand is copyrighted, so this way it can't hassle her. Some brands get viciously litigious when anyone uses their exact name.
I don't understand why there is such a human wall and distain for travelers in other countries. I have met gypsies before many years ago here in the United States and there is no label on them here. I do understand that there is a lot of trespassing, theft, chaos, rude behaviors, trash, property damage, fighting, cursing from everyone even the small children, no parental guidance or education on basic life and schooling. There could be a change! Teach them what it's like to have to pay bills, taxes, read and write, treat ALL people the same!!! "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."! 💥🙏 Most of all teach these young girls that they have worth! And the young men that they DO NOT OWN A WIFE!!! These girls don't even know what life is about yet! And to be married at that age is sad!!! I think it's mostly the allure of the fantasy wedding and dress up. But when reality sinks in 3 or 4 weeks after the wedding festivities, it's not as glamorous as a young child thought it would be! At 16 our brains are not even developed. God help these young children in their marriages and journeys.❤🙏
