Great slipping technique, Coach. The hand on the head reminds me of the Panantuken movement called vertical gunting in Filipino martial arts. Excellent stuff!

Sarah Gerace so interesting that you saw the connection. I assume you practice Philipines Martial arts?

Shraims academy Yes, Coach. My parent art is Shaolin Kempo but I study multiple arts as well, with FMA being a significant part.

Shraims academy Hi Coach. So, boxing techniques-including many of the great techniques and movements you’ve been teaching here-are peppered throughout the Filipino Martial Arts I study. In fact, boxing, many don’t know, is seen throughout the martial arts and has been a very important part of many martial systems, including my parent art.
So that’s why I study your videos-to get the perspective of a seasoned professional.

@@sarahgeraceunitedmartialar5709 Very well said tiger. Boxing is the base to all striking martial arts. Making a fist to hit your opponent with was probably the first hand to hand combat method. If you can master boxing, you become a very formidable opponent in any stand up fighting.

Is it wrong to pivot as you’re slipping the punch?
