Having C1 Zhongli is pretty helpful with these mechanics. Also, if you are familiar in the Chasm then, this would be just pretty easy.
I don't have C1 but tap E works well enough here - it's just my combat muscle memory wanting me to use hold E with him all the time. I did the Chasm like 2.5y ago. I forgor... but I figured it fast enough I think.
