There was a Japanese reality show that was far crueler than the Truman Show. They had someone get naked and put them in a room for around a year (there's a Hulu documentary called The Contestant which documents what happened in the original Japanese show). They would have him make recordings like Ronald which he thought were private, and then show it on national TV. They would have him try to enter contests. Like many reality shows, they found it amusing to be cruel to this man. Had it been an American, he probably would have killed someone.
At some point, they let him go, take him on a vacation, which he enjoys for about a week, then put him in the same kind of enclosed room and keep him there for another few months. The guy who made the show just said it was entertainment and had zero remorse putting this guy through hell. I was absolutely furious listening to it, but it goes to show how cultural differences allowed this man to stay humiliated for so long and perhaps how cruel the Japanese audiences are enjoying in the suffering and humiliation of others.
At least, Jury Duty, despite having some superficial similarities never made Ronald the butt of the show.

Yes that show was horrifying. The guy was a comedian in Japan so he remarkably took it in stride as an "adventure." But to strip him naked from the first day and make him play games to WIN stuff he needed for sustenance, was ridiculous.

REASON by the band Keep Flying.
The intro has J.D. monologue and needs to be played on the podcast.
    Let's go people.

You don't need any visual changes, though you could make some easy changes with lighting alone. Sound panels infront of you ( or three panel sound boxes around the mic) would help make it sound more rich and less tinny. Again though you don't NEED any changes, I think most of us are happy just to see you guys riffing back and forth ❤

Poorly promoted show. I had seen a promo or 2, but never dived deeper until now. Going on the playlist.

It's because it was on Freevee, the free app that's a subsidiary of Amazon Prime.

I'm gonna say it. I don't care about star wars or any of that talk. I love Donald. However, HOWEVER. I do think he pod-jacks the podcast every time with his bs and Zac has to bring him back on track and stop making it about just him and his stuff then Donald gets all sulky then we get on with the actual podcast. Sure that's what the real JD and Turk would be like making a podcast but damn Donald, chill with the narcissism a bit 😂
