One of those crazy one-hit wonders that landed in the USA (unless you already knew who they were and you were a fan, of course). Back when having a Kenwood or Blaupunkt system in your car was considered cool. Really brings back some good memories. I always loved just how upbeat this song way - you just couldn't be depressed listening to this.
@@lonestar6709 @antonwiller5455: Sorry, even though I was a teenager in the 80s and loved this style of music, I don't recall this band being a big hit (lots of radio time) in the USA. My apologies if I offended some big Slade fans.
After the tragic death of Bon Scott, Noddy Holder was first choice to replace him as AC/DC front man, being as loyal to Slade as he always was, he turned it down! I always wonder how much more awesome Back in Black would've sounded with Noddy leading the way on tracks such as Hell's bells.. and especially, you shook me all night long ... close your eyes and try to hear it! tell me I'm wrong!
🇬🇧✨SLADE✨🇬🇧 became my favorite band in 1974 thanks to the "Midnight Special". Then in the 80's I'm in an art class at San Diego City Collage. And this song comes on! I'm watching Arsenic And Old Lace, and the opening song sounds so familiar. I'm thinking, "What is it?" Then, I thought of this song. I looked it up, and it's the same thing as in Arsenic And Old Lace. I looked up the history of the song and find it's based on an old Scottish jig. So, I'm thinking the music at the beginning of the movie is based on the same jig. Hmmmm....I haven't heard this in years, though. Quite forgot about it. It was cool checking it out again!
I'd gotten used to the crapped out 480p version far too long - and although this has a few flaws and issues - still much better and preferrable. Nice work considering the poor source material you had to work from.
Yep, bought this album on cassette for this song with high hopes. Prly played it all the way thru maybe thrice.. . . The 80's was an incredible decade for music, but "Rock" struggled, IMHO, after the revelry of the 60s and 70s, and before regaining its edge in 88 & 89, and into the 90's. Punk being an obvious exception
Please forgive my ignorance, but where is Slade from. I recently gave this album a listen again after many years. Very underrated! Well at least here in the USA.
Ah yes. Early MTV videos. Not sure what to do so just mash something together and the kids will love it lol. I like the title song of the album best myself. Gary Numan's "Cars" video is another epic early MTV video.
Yeah, it does. Lots of haloing. Unfortunately, when your only source is a 480p original that has already been compressed to hell by RUclips, you gotta take what you're given. I'm not getting paid to do these, but if I were, I'd take a lot more time at them. Besides - it still looks better than anything else out there, unless you have a cleaner, higher quality version I can work from.
As much as I love Slade, I also love their songs when covered/modernized. Quiet Riot with Cum on Feel the Noise and Britny Fox with Gudbuy T' Jane. Both incredible.
one of the best bands to ever exist
The only thing better than Slade is Slade in 4K
This was the first Slade song I ever heard, great seeing the video in HD, great band with a unique sound.
If you have the opportunity, you should listen to the entire entire catalog. This is a great song, but the band is so much more than this!
The first album i bought for my own cash
....So you never heard Quiet Riot "Cum on feel the noize" ? Because that was a Slade cover 😊
A blast from the past, updated with modern tech. Yeah!
I’m blown away! Amazing job!
How awesome hearing at @1:56 how they had the pipe and drum corp march in ! Rock on!

Kenwood. Rockford Fosgate and super tuner iii
Most number one hits of any band in Britian in the 70S. One hit wonder 😂.
They weren't a one-hit wonder, worldwide.
They've sold like 150 million, all in!

Quiet Riot would argue that Slade was NOT a “one hit wonder”. LOL, you might want to check their discography. Cum On, Feel the Noise!
Love this song and Band.
Nice job! This is a much better version than that darker version.
Didn't use to be so unfocused / blurry. Must be new 5g or something? Glad I found this version. Love this song & video!!!
And heavy metal was born.
cheers mate..just put me back 40 years,,,F@#$%^ brilliant
Damn! I remember watching this video and said to myself, I wish it was clearer. This is great! Thanks for the great work.
Thanks for watching!
They were fantastic musicians.
And heavy metal was born.
It would be Great if they could do this with all there video..crisp & clear such a great band luv em..
I did do an upscale of "My Oh My" - it's here in my channel
It's so Slade to have an album named Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply lmao like that is the most Slade thing to do.
It was originally called "The Amazing Kamakaze Syndrome"
This superscaling is terrific! Kudos.
Luved this band since 1972.
Nicely done!!
Thanks for watching!
2:19 11 year old me remembers this vividly from seeing the video on MTV
That fiddle tho......

Personally I am glad he didn't. Slade was so much better not that I don't like a bit of acca Dacca, Slade is just so much more
Yes Noddy would have knocked it out of the park. You have great vision!
Wunderschön!
never heard this song before, now ive heard it twice in one day. hmm... i like it.
Always rememberd the line about the camelion in the sun and knew it was Slade, though didn't know the name of the song. I was 8 when this came out.
Great job!
@@Gene601 Thanks!

@flagace4889 Thank you for the answer.
Thank you, excellent video and sound quality for 80s
Can you update Universe? Only seen very poor quality
Most lyrics to most songs are ridiculous. It's the music is what counts and slade were fantastic musicians
Been listening to Slade since the 70’s. Figures this cheesy song is the only one that was popular in the US. Was glad for them though
Ah yes. Early MTV videos. Not sure what to do so just mash something together and the kids will love it lol. I like the title song of the album best myself. Gary Numan's "Cars" video is another epic early MTV video.
2:19 Gurney Slade.
If only the audio didn't sound like a 64kbps mp3 file, this would be great.
Find me a better copy of the single edit and I'll re-upload.
That look a lot better i see it must better now thank you so much 👍👍👍👍👍👍
You’re welcome 😊

The drummer is awesome…….that drumming took some effort
これぞイングランド。英国ロックにしては、かなり陽気ですが。

The guitar part is ripped off from 'Fields of Fire' by Big Country.
what the hell is he doing with his mouth?!?
this looks bizarre. It looks like they're all in front of a green screen the whole time.
Good enough song, but holy smokes is that video horrible. I guess maybe in 1984 it was fine, but ..... man.
Too bad Quiet Riot didn't cover this song too
Why in the world do we need Quiet Riot to do a cover of this when Slade is and always will be the the best?
