  • In this weeks video i check out the new Renault Trucks Master 4x4 Van. It's fully switchable four wheel drive system from Oberaigner Gmbh means standard RWD when on normal tarmac, and then full 4x4 when required off road or in slippery conditions.
It features a 4-cylinder in-line diesel engine with 163hp and 380 Nm of torque from 1500 to 2750 rpm.
I will give you a full look around this van and test drive it on normal road conditions, and then we will be taking it off road to test it's four wheel drive capabilities. Is this a proper four wheel drive van? Let's find out!
    Thanks for watching, Stavros

Stavros Renault certainly need to bung you some cash for the van video Test this week lol.
It may have a low payload but this van with much better off-road tyres would come in to its own on farms or building sites (Private land work) I would think.
Stavros you are the true star of all things moving on wheels (not seen any tracks yet...lol). Loved my Sunday dose of vehicle goodness thank you.
P.S. Hope you did not get to wet or muddy in the making of this weeks great video.

Everybody appears to be chucking out a 4x4 version of their standard vans at the moment. Considering the utility companies have large fleets of worn out Land Rover Defenders to replace and the penny has dropped that a 4x4 van is a far more affordable and reliable replacement this is not entirely surprising.

9:33 that are for papers and you can see if there is any paper from gaps or you can push and slide out papers from that gaps

Yep, although in my Iveco its lots of little holes so nothing falls through but you can still see whats up there. Useful as its impossible to look over the edge of the shelf :)

Them gaps in the over head are for paperwork or a first aid kit, in the master we have theres all the vans paper work and a first aid kit beside it and can be seen looking up through them gaps.

My guess for those opening in those overhead shelves is Renault's way to cut weight and I know its only a few oz's but every bit weigh savings help

I drove one of these for an hour and I hated it lol, not a bad looking van but the comfort wasn’t the best, couldn’t find a comfortable position for the adjustable steering wheel, It was either too far or too high. The clutch wasn’t great though it was a brand new 67 plate at the time. It’s performance wasn’t impressive in any way. But great video as always Stavros my man 👍🏻

Rented one of these once to do a house move between the Midlands of England and Inverness in Scotland. I SUFFERED NINE AND A HALF HOURS OF THAT SODDING REAR DOOR SENSOR BUZZER GOING OFF! By the fourth hour I wanted to rip the fuse box out just to stop it! Nothing I could do as the van was full with house content that took a day to load so even if the hire company sent a replacement hardly a practical option to swap over. The one silver lining, the booking was for me to return the van back to England but as I didn't need the load capacity for the return journey the rental company swapped it for a far more comfortable Hyundai IX35 SUV.

Have a Renault master , have from new , so far it's had 40000. Miles , it's had a new clutch, and a new gear box , and a new heater motor , lovely van to drive , but that's it, by the way mine is the mini bus version, I use it for my family , so I carry 3 kids and 2 adults , so no weight it's carrying, these cans would not stand up to carrying tools etc every day , these vans could not be a work van , even when u close the sliding door u can see the metal in the door flex and wobble , quite simply there not up to much , but that's the reason they are a fair bit cheaper then any other. Brand out their

Same old, same old... Door locks.. Why vans don't have proper security on them when new is be-on me.. I don't buy new and that is one of the reasons.. I'd rather buy an older van that I can drill into, hammer and make secure without worry of any real damage as would be with new.. The price of these vans and the first thing you have to do is make them secure.. It's pathetic..
