Now that you've done this, I hope you're ready to receive a flood of anime recommendations on every video you ever upload for the rest of your living days.
Anyways with that said, if you like comfort anime I highly recommend Ore Monogatari (My Love Story) ! it is very cute and wholesome and it made me cry 10/10
Also thank you for having me cameo to vouch for one of my faves!!!!!

@Sarge Ward this comment was made by Mordor(one of Schaff editors) which he left on Schaff's letterboxd review on End of Eva describing the Schaff gangs experience on watching Evangelion:
"This was the worst decisions we ever made
We came in just sorta having high hopes cause we just said fuck it lets watch it cause we been watching intro memes of it
But god...we weren't prepared of what we delved into
      The paused frames
      The bizzare breakdowns
A plot and story more confusing then kingdom hearts
We laughed...we cried...we screamed in agony...we lose our minds...we broke our selves
But nothing was as more *nuts* then the end
We felt...disturbed...uncomfortable...confused...desprate to end this rollarcoaster...and then by the *climax* of it all...we felt nothing
All but regret...and this was the one of the mistakes we made ever...and it was worth a ride...bravo vince"

@@matthewbrooks2633 Yeah, from the looks of it, it just seemed like it wasn't really their thing. That, or again, they just didn't know what to make of it. Which I guess is fair enough. In all honesty, I feel they found it a very mixed experience. I love Eva, but it's definitely not going to be for everyone. I can't blame you if it just didn't work for you. I still think it's something everyone should at least see once.

Now that Attack on titan is over, I would definitely recommend you and everyone reading this to watch it. It's so good and the animation is like nothing I've seen before. The story is insanely good and there is little to no fan service. You probably wouldn't notice it and it won't bother you.
This made me cry and feel so much emotions and I would rewatch it as soon as I can.

Saw someone else mention this and I wanna bring it up to - Death Parade is SO GOOD. It's a psychological series with plenty of deep morality discussions and existential dread as it covers the ever present topic of "what happens when we die?". The story takes place at a bar that runs several arcade-esque games that the visitors - who have recently died but do not initially remember this - are asked to participate in to show a judgement of their True Character, and when the game is over they are sent to either to Purgatory or Reincarnation. It's a short series that's mostly episodic but with a bigger character driven story intertwined between, and several moments from the story and characters were genuinely heartbreaking. A really good show to watch in one full sitting and then stare at a wall once it's done as you struggle to process all of your feelings.

I think you'll really enjoy Bocchi the Rock. The humor hit similar beats to Kaguya for me, and it is so endearing from a character standpoint! The main character, Bocchi, has social anxiety like Komi, and she has a lot of the charm Komi has, if not more. It's also a great story about becoming an artist (in this case, a guitar player for a band). As someone who also has Whisper of the Heart as one of my top 3 Ghibli movies, I can say it also touched my little artist heart. Give it a go! It's the Anime of its Season for me :)

My only complaint is that the manga is better and they should have stuck with the 80's setting because it works better than the late 2010's in terms of the technology. Some recommendations:
Violet Evergarden - Beautifully animated show about a soldier turned ghostwriter during a time where letters are the primary form of long distance communication. Also has some episodes that hit you in the feels.
Revolutionary Girl Utena - A very surreal take on the magical girl genre. Similar vibes to Revue Starlight in my opinion, even down to the lesbian undertones.
Attack on Titan - Everyone's heard of this show and for a good reason. It has probably one of the most complex intertwining stories in all media, and only gets better the further you go. Like it's unbelievable how stuff in season 1 will foreshadow stuff 80 episodes later.
Made in Abyss - A simple tale of 2 children adventuring into the depths of an ancient abyss. Some of the strongest world building in anime, and full of eldritch horrors. It also has some of the grayest of morally gray characters.
EDIT: Note that Made in Abyss has a movie that takes place between season 1 & 2. Do not skip it as it's part of the overarching story.

Some anime recommendations (I'm sure there are repeats here, but here goes):
Princess Tutu: On the surface it's an anime about fairy tales, as told through ballet, but the way it uses those established and well-known stories to subvert expectations and tell a unique story of its own is truly great, and I think well worth the watch. The main character is so earnest and endearing, and some of the other characters develop beyond their initial first impressions to be surprisingly sympathetic as well.
Princess Jellyfish: This show is relatively short, only 11 episodes, but it's one that has stayed with me because of the two main characters and the relationship that develops between them, and how it's easier sometimes to see the beauty in someone else than it is to see it in yourself.
Revolutionary Girl Utena: This is one of those shows that had an influence on those that followed, especially in the magical girl genre. The story itself is deceptively simple, but as it goes on it becomes clear that it's about more than what appears on the surface. I don't know that it's one of my favorites, but it's one that has stayed with me long after watching it. Some of the content/subject matter can be uncomfortable for some viewers, so I do recommend checking for possible content warnings before watching, although most of it is conveyed through subtext rather than being overtly explicit.
Fullmetal Alchemist (2003): Okay, for as AMAZING as FMA:B is (and it truly is an incredible show), I saw the original FMA as it aired on [adult swim] and it was the show that made me realize how beautiful and moving anime could be (that and my next rec). It follows the manga for the beginning, but as it was airing while the manga was still being written, the show had to either create their own ending, or make up filler until it had more manga canon to continue. They made their own ending, which was a different enough direction that once the manga did end, it was worth going back and making FMA:B. I saw 2003 first, before I ever read the manga, so I have a lot of love for the series, and I think it would be interesting to hear your take on it, watching it in the opposite order.
Wolf's Rain: I also watched this when it aired on [adult swim] and didn't know that animation could be this gorgeous until I saw this show. It has a unique concept about a pack of wolves who are able to hide within human society, some of whom don't even realize what they are until they meet each other and discover their true nature. I love the music, I think it's so beautiful and moving, and I think it has a lot of interesting things to say through the characters and the story it tells.
Could go on recommending more but I'll stop here, lol. (Although I do recommend Polar Bear's Cafe for lighthearted slice-of-life viewing. It has no plot, but I find the characters and their interactions endearing and funny. My favorite stories are the ones featuring Grizzly and Polar Bear).

This anime has made me cry so hard and I specifically remember crying at 2am while watching it. It's such a beautiful story with an unconventional storyboard as it isn't necessarily a linear progression between episodes. I also adore it due to the different approach that the anime took from the novel on its perspective of violet. I highly recommend reading the novel its based on to gain a further appreciation and understanding of violet however take note that both the anime and novel have graphic violence with the novel being even more explicit and gruesome. However, I believe that the story's message comes across even further with its mature themes and I absolutely adore this anime and could talk forever about it.

I haven't watched most of these shows but hearing your praise for a few of them definitely put them on my list where other discussion hasn't before, and I'm really glad this has been a mostly positive experience for you.
If you have any more space for recs, I think of Soul Eater along a similar line as I think of FMAB - it's a long, great story with a lot of interesting characters, interactions, and a slowly escalating plot (though without the political intrigue).
For fun stuff, I suggest Bofuri for moe club show shenanigans (a comedy about having fun and coincidentally absolutely breaking the hell out of a new VR game), and A Place Further Than The Universe for fun moe stuff that has a lot of genuine heart (cute girls go on a trip to Antarctica). My Next Life As A Villainess is a funny reverse harem where the main character reincarnates as the villainess in a dating sim, but because she's actually nice everyone ends up falling in love with HER instead of the actual dating sim main character (and becoming nicer people because of her influence), which she absolutely fails to notice because she's a loveable dumbass preoccupied with her character's "inevitable" fate (exile or death).
In terms of emotional stuff, though, Kiznaiver absolutely gets me when it comes to characters interacting and forming friendships that reveal and help each other get over their own issues/traumas (the premise is they are linked together (unwillingly) in an (unethical government) experiment that makes them feel each others' pain).
Bungou Stray Dogs is a pretty fun show with a lot going on (this is just a rec close to my heart), but nothing beats Durarara for shows with a LOT of moving pieces and different characters' lives intersecting in interesting ways, which seems like something you might enjoy.
For great, interesting animation I recommend Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous), it's an example of actually REALLY good 3D CG, and the characters and animation are absolutely gorgeous. There's also Mekakucity Actors, which has some really interesting stylistic flourishes to go with a particularly interesting concept, made by the same people who made Madoka Magica (which I also recommend because it inspired at least half of the magical girl genre, and it's a definite classic).
In terms of more personal recs, Deca-Dence and Planet With are my two absolute recent favourites, both with incredible concepts and character stories. Both have a LOT happening in only 12 episodes each (so they're pretty quick watches), Planet With in particular running at an absolutely breakneck pace, and they're both fantastic (I'd talk about Deca-Dence's concept, but it throws a pretty huge reveal in at the start of the second episode that turns the entire world on its head).
EDIT: Also just the Ghost Stories english dub. Absolute comedy classic. Imagine the outtakes you mentioned but instead it's the offical dub because the show did SO badly they were essentially given carte blanche. Also MUCH more offensive.

Since I haven't seen many comments recommending it, I'll just put this recommendation here: Hunter x Hunter :D I'd say overall, it's a show that offers fleshed-out characters, complex story arcs, great worldbuilding, and a lot of compelling themes in later arcs. The show is pretty long, so you have to be into it. Thankfully it's pretty easy to get into. It took me the first 4/5 episodes and then I was sold and basically binged it in a week. The first arc, which is around 20 episodes long, revolves around the main characters taking part in the Hunter Exam, and is a really good jump start into getting to know the main characters and the way the fantasy world of hxh works, but the story really takes off in later seasons/arcs. Most of all, I really enjoy the character dynamics of the main characters, especially the main duo Gon and Killua. It's very wholesome and there are so many great moments between all of the cast. Because it's a longer show, there are times when it's a little on the slow side in later seasons, but yeah... I'd say, if you have the time, definitely check it out :) It's definitely one of my favourite anime of all time.

The Great Pretender on Netflix is one of the most underrated anime ever. With a super fun and compelling story of professional scammers, and constant plot twists that surprise you and the main character continuously, this show really keeps you on it's toes. It has a really nice diverse cast, and is set internationally, with each case being in a different country. I must also praise the very unique but beautiful art style, with cow boy beebop vibes in the editing and music choices!
I can definitely recommend The Promised Neverland- season one is absolutely amazing, the suspense of the slow buildup was so good and the timing of information being revealed was perfect imo. Super likable characters and genuinely chilling moments made me fall in love with this show. The mix of the prison break trope and the cult like aspects of the setting really ticked all my boxes. Season one works very well as a standalone (I didn't watch season 2 and heard bad stuff about it but the manga is really good!)
I'm suprised you haven't watched Madoka Magica, I really love the weird, horror elements and the world building in this show. The tragedy of it all is so good, but it's not made to make you feel overly depressed. The show really benefits of its shortness and if you want more you can check out the movies. I beautiful classic in my opinion!
My personal fave is Hunter x Hunter, I love the characters and dynamics, the world building is very fun and interesting, especially later on. It's just very enjoyable and the story is super well thought out. There are no filler episodes which is *chef's kiss* . A lot of people find the chimera ant arc tedious and dragged out ( I thought the buildup was worth it) so you could technically stop watching after the greed island arc. I do think the anime is a masterpiece!

Happy you had a good time with anime as a new fan. Here's my contribution to the rec list, in order of how much I think you'll enjoy them:
    - Bocchi the Rock: I'd be shocked if you didn't like this, it's right up your alley with the other shows you've enjoyed. It's about a socially anxious girl who really wants to be in a band but is too shy to ever start one. It's very wholesome, surprisingly emotional and the animation is super creative with it's depictions of the character's mental states.
    - Vinland Saga: All around great series. Season 1 is an action series with fantastic animation and great supporting characters. The main character is one of the less interesting characters here, but that's more a testament to how well developed the other characters are. Season 2 is where it really becomes great since the series takes a complete tonal shift and becomes entirely character focused, exploring the protaganist and the fallout of season 1. It's rare for an author to make such a drastic change to a series so deep into it but in this case it works perfectly and it's such a natural continuation of the main character's arc. It's really something you should check out.
    - One Punch Man: Made by the same author as Mob Psycho 100. It's much less serious and more comedic. The action scenes in Season 1 are some fo the best in any anime and underneath all of it, there's a touching little story about depression and what happens after you've achieved everything you've been working for. The manga has some insane art and I'd definetly recommend checking it out if you liked season 1 of the anime.
    - One Piece: I'm going to be honest and I'm not sure if you'll like this... but it's my favorite series of all time so I have to recommend it. You might get put off by the art style and length but I promise it's one of the greatest stories ever told. There's lots of fanservice but it's the series aesthetic more than anything else. All the women wear bikinis like all the men don't wear shirts. The series rarely dwells on it aside from a few gags, the protaganist is asexual and only 1 of the main characters is actively perverted.
It's greatest strength is probably the cohesiveness of the story and how 'alive' the world feels. The story feels like it's always building up to the grand climax with the arcs we're following sending rippling effects throughout the world that influence the other major players. For example, when the main character defeats a member of an organization responsible for keeping pirates like him under control, opponents of the organization capitalize on it to undermine the confidence of the public leading to the dissolution of said organization. The power vacuum left by his defeat allows for a new global power to rise up while dragging the main character into conflict with his sponsor. This is only possible because of the length of the series and the care the author put into setting everything up to create a cohesive story. I would definetely recommend the manga over the anime, the anime has some serious pacing issues and lots of filler.

It's a simple premise, but they do a good amount with it and I really enjoy it. Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun is another great one. It's about a kid named Iruma who gets sold to a demon by his parents, except it turns out the demon bought him because he needed a grandson to brag about to his friends. It's a really wholesome watch, but it also has some very exciting and epic moments, and of course tons of comedy. Oh, and have you considered watching One Piec-

Hunter X Hunter is a slow burn, but it’s definitely one of the strongest character studies I’ve ever seen. The characters are handled very deliberately and they grow in nuance as the series progresses, and the way it depicts themes such as trauma and the self-destructive nature of revenge is heartbreaking and mature. It serves as a deconstruction of the shonen genre, and it’s an absolutely stunning story with a deceptively simple first couple arcs that while it does grow darker it never sacrifices the beating heart at the core of its story, and I think you’d love it a whole lot.

Quoting manny from Ice Age 2, "I knew it, I knew I wasn't the only one"
2020 was the year of anime for me, Aside from Studying for Medical School Exams, I had a lot of time in lockdown for watching anime, including, Demon Slayer, Mirai Nikki, Madoka Magica, Death Note, FMA:Brotherhood, Princess Tutu, My Hero Academia, Soul Eater, Made in Abyss, Monster, Elfen Lied, Dororo, Jojo's Bizzare Adventure (to just at the beginning of Stone Ocean) and many many more, which went don't through 2022, I started really watching it after learning about them from Anime America, a pretty good channel that really showcased how much love and enthusiasm they had for this medium, and I decided to finally check it out.
Yeah I agree with your take on my dress up darling, I still got entertained pretty fine, but I can understand how the fanservice in this show can seriously off-put people, you almost really forget about them until some creep puts these fanservice moments on Facebook (to those people, GET A LIFE, go touch GRASS).

Characters like Shaiapouf are easily one of the best antagonist ever but extremely underrated. Only problem is the Hiatus I really Hope author gets better because I can't die without seeing the complete ending, I mean who doesn't want to see Hisoka vs Chrollo, Dark continent, and Pariston in the anime

He probably will at some point, most of these series has very few episodes and seasons whereas now AoT is a fairly long and complex story, you need to take your time to really appreciate it and it has many common flaws for that kind of anime at the very beginning to season 2. That is alongside a couple of very shallow episodes in the second half of the first season. I guess they had to reach a certain length but having an episode have the content of one single chapter just isn’t enough especially in that point of the story where they aimlessly in circles run around with the horses while being attacked. (And considering they had to deal with just one target and they had no particular disadvantage as well as Levi right there it was honestly ridiculous to use a complex strategy considering what he’s capable of, in fact he eventually save the situation all by himself).

It's always nice to see someone figure out that anime as a medium is really good and has great stories, even if there are bad ones. Speaking of great stories, I would highly recommend Made In Abyss (my personal favorite anime), Sword Art Online (pretty mid but it was my first anime so it holds a special place in my heart), Attack on Titan (very good, I personally dropped the first season3-4 times because I always felt bored, but after getting through it I watched everything that was out at the time within like 2 days. I've never heard of anyone else dropping the first season so it's likely just a me thing. Big recommend), Talentless Nana (absolute banger that I don't really hear talked about despite being incredible), Rising of the Shield Hero (some people don't like this show and find it generic but I personally love it, you may too), Re:Zero (bangs harder than Ron Jeremy in his prime.), Akudama Drive (interesting cyberpunk-y show), 86 Eighty-Six (very good, deep show that is very entertaining but also quite sad, fun watch), Now and Then, Here and There (older show that I've showed to other people and they didn't like due to the pessimistic plot but I personally love and could watch many times), Elfen Lied (disclaimer: this show has mild nudity, due to that you may like it or fucking hate it. From what I remember none of it is fanservice-y but people have their opinions on that. If you can look past the nudity it is a good show.) The Devil is a Part-Timer (really good light hearted show that recently got a season 2. Loved by many and is just a fun watch.)
Edit: I apologize for forgetting a gem. A real diamond in the rough. Odd Taxi. This show slaps harder than professional slap fighters, and is a high recommend from me.
These are the ones that come to mind right away for me so they must be good, right? I've watched a lot of shows so I hope these few that really stuck out are actually good, or I have shit taste; I'd love to figure it out though.

With a very big cast of likable characters and really fun and heartwarming dynamics, amazing ost and animation, it's very engaging. The comedy is just great imo and honestly the show was really emotional at times. My favorite part is definitely the relationship between the two main characters Hinata and Kageyama, their dynamic is so fun and their journey (especially in the manga it's pretty gay imo) is very special and heartwarming. As you might recall, the Sohmas live in a compound, and they have the inner and outer families. There's literally hundreds of people.
