I think they kind of had to add 2 elements as well. Every other element is a cohesive balance. Fire and Water. Air and Water. Life and Death (technically undead but it’s functionally the same thing), Magic and Tech. Every element has had an exact opposite. Adding a single element would break that, is my thoughts on it at least.
Now that I think about it, the new element basically retconned the entire first game. without light and dark existing in Skyland's until trap team, the darkness couldn't exist in the first game, and presumably the core of light wouldn't be functional. The only explanation I could thing of is that the core of light can draw power from other realms, but that wouldn't explain how the darkness exists. I'm really going into full theory mode now.
an electric element would make no sense as electricity is already used by older Skylanders, as some sort of sub-element, like Zap, Voodoon, Lightning Rod, Cynder and Magna Charge's bottom half other popular new element ideas like Time or Space, are also already used as some sort of sub-element also, you call Light & Dark too simple to add, like Fire, Water, Earth and Air aren't?
I actually like the Light and Dark elements, thank goodness they didn’t choose the Electric element.
Agreed about them not adding electric lol
@@WilliamEddis the Transpolese Berea of Corporations agrees that it is not fun adding an electric element
I think the kids thought that because of lob goblin and blaster trop, who both had electric attacks.
Having an electric element would be weird because we have people like zap lightning rod and thunderbolt but light and dark were nice ideas

Some high quality content! Great vid 😁
Yo Spenny! Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it.
How is light and dark “too simple” but Fire and Water elements “scream originality” ? That doesn’t make any sense
I mean...there existence got released in a scroll script in Skylanders Spyro's Adventure. I think you can obtain in in Treetop Terrace
That was hinting at the giants
@@susanclay4225 No? They used light and dark...no Giant has this power.
@@skygoomysteatime3967 I think that was to keep it vague.
Dark is my favourite element

Trap team is the first game in story order???
I think the dark element you can play is the good side of darkness
Yeah makes sense there mainly for profit its Activision-

Some of the Light and Dark Skylanders are hit or miss like Aurora is kinda mid and Star Cast is an amazing Sensei but they’re all decent
