I have an open species for anyone who wants it. Species name:tritonits Main looks: they are quadrupedal and have 3 pairs of legs, the middle and back legs are used for kicking up dust clouds to distract predators and show were they are for reinforcement, they use all there legs when running and walking. They often only use there frontmost legs, for scavenging,sometimes the middle legs if something is high up. They are often a night sky pattern or a dusty patterns, depending on which time they are most awake. Any colors are fair game because the desert they live in often has multiple colored sands making it look like a rainbow threw up. They have big leathery ears and long fan like tails to keep cool in the desert heat. Some younger tritonits have a carapace along there back for protection, but that usually falls off within a week from hatching. There teeth color is always an ivory white, and there two top canines are big a slightly rubbery which makes it harder to hunt with them and harder to break. There eye color is usually a shade of green or blue but some outliers exist. They are generally low to the ground and have paws perfect for running at fast speeds through the slippery sand of there home. They have have scaled skin along most there bodies and upper legs and fluffy lower legs and paws to protect there paws from the sands heat, there long fan tails have thin paper like membrane between two spines that end in a small circular tufts. They have small, somewhat squished faces with big eyes with four pointed star shaped pupils Where they live:most tritonits live in the gulresh region of tumut. Gulresh is a patch of rainbow desert surrounded by a thick circle of rainforests. The tritonits where the theorized to come from the surrounding forests and travel into the desert, mostly because of there affinity for be green pants rather than the smaller, generally less green plants of the desert. Tumut is an island that is know for there marshlands and rain seasons, often a tourist place but most of the creatures there make quick work of people that try to interfere with there life. Black sand is a very important part of life as the black sand, when pressure is applied, create heat for about an hour, black sand comes from mines underneath the colorful sand at the surface, there is also pure white sand which is rather unknown and has no known uses. Hierarchy:they are a very social creatures and they live in small tribal groups with a leader called a junwing, the leader is usually a female because there generally bigger bodies for protecting there young. The second in command, and usually the mate of the junwing, is called the junhall and are in charge of organizing hunting groups and building of the nests, the third in command is the junyown is shared by two tritonits, usually siblings, they are in charge of diplomatic missions and caring of the young, the rest of the pack is organized by age, so the older a tritonits the more likely there a part of the main leading group. Other rules:can’t have aquatic or aerial parts, must have black claws, junwings have a crystal embedded in both of there two upper canines, junhalls have a split tounge, junyowns have black sand dusted on them that they can’t wash off till they have been a junyown for 5 years, after wards they wash of the sand in a religious ceremony and get snakebite piercings. They can’t have a lot of black in their fur color because there considered bad luck and evil, even if black sand is religious and very useful, the reason there are no pure black tritonits is because they get killed in a religious sacrifice to purge there evil. Hi, I have been A wicker beast for a few years now and have always loved the species, I love their design and look. Its interesting because I noticed that both of our wickers have redish pink with a cool skull marking. ive seen a few wickers with similar-ish designs but it is one of my favorite species.
If you aren't too familiar with wickerbeasts by now the species is getting an overhaul of new lore by Daemon Lady! (PS also, protogen CAN have wings, they just have to be chibi. It's wickerbeast that can't have wings/wing like markings! Just clearing that up🙂)
Mochi raptors have a lot of drama within the community, I am a long time member of the amino and there was a fight between leaders causing an entire amino move, along with many other incidents.
I’m so glad someone mentioned Mochi Raptors, so many more traits & lore have been added these last few months. They’re still not well known outside of the Amino, and to my knowledge only 2 suits have been made

I plan on doing a sequel to this video with some more open species! It was a fun video to do with some very good feedback. i also saw a bunch of people making new designs after they saw this and discovered some new species and its always great to see people creatively inspired.

Ugh I love Open Species creatures, they are so cool. I've got a Mochi Raptor, Mojaka, two Bubbleheads, a Carton Cat, Bubble Snail, Meep, Furreis, Kaiser Nightfury, Pantheris, and a Guardian. And they all live in an alternate universe I created for them. I used to have a Fur Serpent, Daeki, and a Toy Demon, but they just didn't fit into the group, so I scrapped the Toy Demon and Daeki, and I'm selling the Fur Serpent when I design her. I wasn't sure if Protogens were open or not, but I'm so happy they are, I'm so excited to make one!
I’m working on an open species! They’re called Sluks and are slimy, somewhat animal based creatures. They can be kinda based on any animal that isn’t a hybrid or closed species. Here’s an example of what I mean by somewhat animal based: a goat based Sluk will have horns, eyes, and maybe hooves of a goat, but everything else isn’t animal. A rabbit based Sluk will have longer hind legs, long ears, and the tail of a rabbit and so on.
Update! Mochi Raptors can now have aquatic traits and can have liquid "bodies" in certain areas! The king traits(closed) are still closed but now we have wing traits which are also closed!♡
I don't have a fur suit, but I REAAALLY want one! It's so cool to see all the creative creatures people come up with 😊. If I'm given the chance to have at least one suit, I think I'd go with the Wickerbeast!
Man I love Protogens. Originally saw them in a AMV and fell in love with their design. I'm not a furry myself but like to watch videos on people making these Protogen fur suits.
My fursona is a Manokit, if you're thinking of making one then I strongly suggest checking out the facebook group, Manokit Island, the people are all super nice, there's lots of cool art and it has lots of the lore and rules and stuff of Manokits written down so you can make the best possible version of your Manokit!
Your wickerbeast looks the most appealing to me but that’s just my opinion. I still enjoyed the other species, I don’t really have a OC because I’m not really part of the community. I’ll probably make one in the future.
I’m gonna tell you about my original species. This is actually one I dreamt up, so, uh, storytime! The dream came to me when I was sleeping on the school bus back home one day. It started off in this huge library with countless super-tall stacks of books, and I was in one little open corner with the librarian and a stool with some sort of cat with the wings and bottom half of a chicken. I asked the librarian, “Is that some sort of cockatrice?” He replied, “No, this is a ‘Braylchie’ (that’s how I’m spelling it).” When I woke up, I was very much excited to develop this dream creature into an original species, and I’m still working on that now! 😊
I actually have like 5 protogen fursonas and like 7 wickerbeast fursonas. I actually broke the rules with all my characters in some way. XD I actually have an original open original species. Feldrons. They're on scratch. Lol. I actually made them recently. I made a manokit sona, and when I did the colors, my mind immediately went to pink, black, and white. Nate, if you want the manokit sona, you can have it for free.
Hey Nate, could I offer a piece of advice for your art? Maybe you could try to change the pen size when ding different things in the lineart process while you draw, maybe to add some detail!

So… sorry if this is off topic BUT I am currently working on a world building project with an alternate version of earth, which will have at least a dozen original species, and will almost definitely have more as I think of more. Currently I am working on just the species I have had for the longest, it is VERY in depth biology, unfortunately there are no drawings because I am not a digital artist, but there IS a sculpture of an infant of the species I made. It is a horror themed species, so there are some creepy bits. I mean, check it out if you’re interested.
I only really have 2 fursonas, Coal and Mute, but some of these species are so cool, I think I'm gonna make a Mochi Raptor fursona named Davinity(Davi),a Dutchy named Tallahassee(Tally), and a Pathogen named Octavian. Thanks for inspiring me to make 3 new ocs! It actually made me want to make a new species, they are called Axojellies(because axolotls are adorable and I like bubble/squishy things:3)
My first sona was dutch angel dragon and I adore the species to the point that I now days have 2 sonas that are dutchies, both haveing individual personalities and designs. I also have a mochi raptor that a got as a adopted back before the rules changed for the teeth and thought of actually making a second one.
Fact about manokits: 1. They cannot swim nor breathe underwater. 2. They cannot reproduce like other mammals due to the fact that they don't have general area for boy manokits nor have functional (well you know) for girl manokits so that's why they rely on coconuts (or shells) and magic to magically raise their Young. 3. They close their eyes because they're almost blind and the sun harms their eyes and their fur helps them block the Rays of the sun hurting their bodies. 4. A manokits diet is fish, crab (shellfish), birds, and (some occasion) fruit.
My original is Salamalien which is a slimy salamander based dragon with big eyes and no pupils. They have antenna and can come with any kind of gooey fur and have a spotted back with wings or no wings.
As a kid who doesn’t want to 1. Tell people I’m interested in fur suits and furries and 2. Make a fursuit, what is it like going to furry conventions, having people know that you’re a furry and having/wearing a fursuit?
I'm actually in the process of making my own original species called the Humbugs. They're basically insectoid aliens that base their metamorphosis around human music, and one of their main methods of reproduction is biting humans, which in turn turns them into more Humbugs.
The Protogen on my profile has wings but it's not a fursona or anything, just some general Protogen art I made. I didn't know they shouldn't have wings 😅

My main fursona is a manokit, He's been my main sona for 4 years now ^^ (I love them so muchhh) He's more of a tribal manokit though, as he expresses more anthro then feral but he's still a big ol ball of floof (his main colour is white so we dress him up as santa each year and call him Santa Kumu its great xD)
I think we need of those crazy out there fursona . not throwing shade at wolf and dragon i love them . But there are so many adorable animals just waiting for attention from members in fandom . Like a sugar glider sona or maybe a honey badger

ive made two of my own species, one is a scranther which is a mix between a panther and a scorpion. the other one is a sea hyena which is a mix of a hyena and any fish or sea animal youd like!
There are closed species and open species" Me: not just close and open species, there is the two you know of, closed and open, but there is semi-closed, which means that you can create it but you have to follow the rules of how you are supposed to create it, like the features on the fursuit. ❣

I’m working on an open species! They’re called Sluks and are slimy, somewhat animal based creatures. They can be kinda based on any animal that isn’t a hybrid or closed species. Here’s an example of what I mean by somewhat animal based: a goat based Sluk will have horns, eyes, and maybe hooves of a goat, but everything else isn’t animal. A rabbit based Sluk will have longer hind legs, long ears, and the tail of a rabbit and so on.

Mochi Raptors can now have aquatic traits and can have liquid "bodies" in certain areas!
The king traits(closed) are still closed but now we have wing traits which are also closed!♡

I don't have a fur suit, but I REAAALLY want one! It's so cool to see all the creative creatures people come up with 😊. If I'm given the chance to have at least one suit, I think I'd go with the Wickerbeast!

Man I love Protogens. Originally saw them in a AMV and fell in love with their design. I'm not a furry myself but like to watch videos on people making these Protogen fur suits.
My fursona is a Manokit, if you're thinking of making one then I strongly suggest checking out the facebook group, Manokit Island, the people are all super nice, there's lots of cool art and it has lots of the lore and rules and stuff of Manokits written down so you can make the best possible version of your Manokit!

Your wickerbeast looks the most appealing to me but that’s just my opinion. I still enjoyed the other species, I don’t really have a OC because I’m not really part of the community. I’ll probably make one in the future.
I’m gonna tell you about my original species. This is actually one I dreamt up, so, uh, storytime! The dream came to me when I was sleeping on the school bus back home one day. It started off in this huge library with countless super-tall stacks of books, and I was in one little open corner with the librarian and a stool with some sort of cat with the wings and bottom half of a chicken. I asked the librarian, “Is that some sort of cockatrice?” He replied,
“No, this is a ‘Braylchie’ (that’s how I’m spelling it).”
When I woke up, I was very much excited to develop this dream creature into an original species, and I’m still working on that now! 😊
I actually have like 5 protogen fursonas and like 7 wickerbeast fursonas. I actually broke the rules with all my characters in some way. XD I actually have an original open original species. Feldrons. They're on scratch. Lol. I actually made them recently. I made a manokit sona, and when I did the colors, my mind immediately went to pink, black, and white. Nate, if you want the manokit sona, you can have it for free.
My biggest question is are wicker beast open species to make into suits??
Hey Nate, could I offer a piece of advice for your art? Maybe you could try to change the pen size when ding different things in the lineart process while you draw, maybe to add some detail!

So… sorry if this is off topic BUT I am currently working on a world building project with an alternate version of earth, which will have at least a dozen original species, and will almost definitely have more as I think of more. Currently I am working on just the species I have had for the longest, it is VERY in depth biology, unfortunately there are no drawings because I am not a digital artist, but there IS a sculpture of an infant of the species I made. It is a horror themed species, so there are some creepy bits. I mean, check it out if you’re interested.
I only really have 2 fursonas, Coal and Mute, but some of these species are so cool, I think I'm gonna make a Mochi Raptor fursona named Davinity(Davi),a Dutchy named Tallahassee(Tally), and a Pathogen named Octavian. Thanks for inspiring me to make 3 new ocs!
It actually made me want to make a new species, they are called Axojellies(because axolotls are adorable and I like bubble/squishy things:3)
My first sona was dutch angel dragon and I adore the species to the point that I now days have 2 sonas that are dutchies, both haveing individual personalities and designs. I also have a mochi raptor that a got as a adopted back before the rules changed for the teeth and thought of actually making a second one.

My main OC is a DAD! Their name is Sugar-Skull and is in the process of being made into a fursuit by Skypro at the moment! I cant wait to get them!
Fact about manokits:
1. They cannot swim nor breathe underwater.
2. They cannot reproduce like other mammals due to the fact that they don't have general area for boy manokits nor have functional (well you know) for girl manokits so that's why they rely on coconuts (or shells) and magic to magically raise their Young.
3. They close their eyes because they're almost blind and the sun harms their eyes and their fur helps them block the Rays of the sun hurting their bodies.
4. A manokits diet is fish, crab (shellfish), birds, and (some occasion) fruit.
My original is Salamalien which is a slimy salamander based dragon with big eyes and no pupils. They have antenna and can come with any kind of gooey fur and have a spotted back with wings or no wings.

I'm actually in the process of making my own original species called the Humbugs. They're basically insectoid aliens that base their metamorphosis around human music, and one of their main methods of reproduction is biting humans, which in turn turns them into more Humbugs.

I made a wickerbeast fursona during a snow storm two years ago his name is blizzy, and then a few months later I made him into a full suit
My main fursona is a manokit, He's been my main sona for 4 years now ^^

He's more of a tribal manokit though, as he expresses more anthro then feral but he's still a big ol ball of floof (his main colour is white so we dress him up as santa each year and call him Santa Kumu its great xD)
I think we need of those crazy out there fursona . not throwing shade at wolf and dragon i love them . But there are so many adorable animals just waiting for attention from members in fandom . Like a sugar glider sona or maybe a honey badger

I really want to make my own original species but I don't know what animals I want to reference for it. I LOVE the look of protogens but don't have the patience to consistently draw complicated designs. Something will strike, I'm sure.

ive made two of my own species, one is a scranther which is a mix between a panther and a scorpion. the other one is a sea hyena which is a mix of a hyena and any fish or sea animal youd like!

Me: not just close and open species, there is the two you know of, closed and open, but there is semi-closed, which means that you can create it but you have to follow the rules of how you are supposed to create it, like the features on the fursuit. ❣
