The TFOs are brighter both in the day and at night. The white circle in the front site makes the diameter on the window of the tritium vile smaller to so it doesn't glow as bright. I chose the TFOs
You don't mention anything about the TFO fiber optic falling out, the tritium tubes breaking if dropped or if coming into contact with solvents... such as the one's you use to clean your guns with... which is why the tfx is improved... they don't fall out they don't break and they aren't effected by solvents.... this is the difference between TFO and TFX.... hello!
Johnny Kim the G19 is an excellent first pistol. Very simple and reliable. I own the gen4 and it's my primary carry. Been using Glocks for years within law enforcement and now as backup working as an EMT. The G19 is what I will use for a long time!
I had a question... how about using the TFX front sight and TFO rear sight? To me, the rear TFO sight is brighter. but I like the TFX front sight. I wonder if this setup would work.
+RogueLSG88 It would probably work...I just don't know the exact height dimensions of each. Your point of aim may be a bit different, but once you figure out where it's shooting you can adjust your aim accordingly.
So they stopped using the sapphire jewel? I was thinking about adding a sapphire lens to my sights before I even knew that any producer used them. Which do you like better, with or without?
GREAT VIDEO! I was wondering why the TFOs were brighter and thought the TFXs weren't as good for brightness, but now I am considering the TFX's because of the front sight dot. Same is true of Meprolights over Trijicons . Meps are easier to see in the daylight due to the ring around their dots.
+joewger You're right that the TFXs aren't quite as bright as the TFOs. I think it has something to do with how they encapsulate the fiber optics on the TFXs (to protect them from solvents, dirt, etc). I know other reviewers have said the tritium isn't as bright on the TFXs, but comparing them to some Trijicon HD sights, they really aren't too different (the Trijicons are a bit brighter, but not much). I plan on comparing the TFXs to the Trijicon HDs pretty soon.
I prefer the TFX overall. The tritium in both performs well in the dark. The fiber optics in both perform well in outdoor and/or overhead lighting. But, the TFX with the white circle on the front sight performs far better with partial light, or light from behind. The white circle is kind of the icing on the cake. That's my experience anyway. Whether the white circle or orange circle version performs better, that I'm not sure of.
I ordered TFX sights for both a S&W and a Glock 20. On the Smith, the rear sight fit the dovetail very tight and required a sight pusher to install it. On the Glock 20, I was able to push the rear sight into position with my fingers. Only the set screw and some red lok-tite hold it in place. Were any of your 3 Glocks loose like this with the rear sight installation? Thanks, Kevin
How does the durability of these seem? Do you use them on an EDC? I would NOT carry fiber optic sights on my carry weapon, and others have agreed with me. The fiber optics on the TFX sights seem to be pretty heavily encased though. Are the fiber optic pieces replaceable? If so, how hard is it to get them out? Do they seem to be in there good?
great vid. trying to figure out if my TFX are "bad" or my expectation are to high. got my TFX;s and they are still in the plastic as my gunsmith said "i can't really see them" as they were not glowing much at all. In the complete darkness they glow, but in a room not at all, and certainly not like yours in the video. so i'm wondering if i should send these TFX's back and get another TFX to see if mine are "bad", or get TFO's so the front sight will be significantly more bright. if they are not really that bright in the day, why not just keep the regular glock sights?
+William Powell That is strange yours wouldn't be bright in the middle of the day. It's possible the fiber optic is broke, but you probably wouldn't be able to tell by looking at it since they're encased in an epoxy. I would just try exchanging them first.
I love my TFO's and found this video because I'm wondering if it will be worth the upgrade. The TFX Pro would be beneficial to those that use the front sight only method. I love my TFO's since it's the same sight picture day and night.
+Don Montalvo Neither of those sights shot low for me. On the Glock 19 and 17 I've tried them on, they actually seemed to shoot too high if anything. On the Glock 43, the TFX sights shot right on (meaning you put the center dot over the target). You might consider that "low" if you prefer a six 'o clock hold.
+Jerod H Hmm...I usually put the dot on the target at 20yds and the top of the sight on the target at 10 yds. The TFO sights show 6" low at 10yds out of the box. The gunsmith couldn't do anything about it. So I swapped them out for AmeriGlo Tritium sights. They are very bright at night, and easy to line up in sunlight (though TFO were awesome bright in the day; not so great at night). Those shoot 1"high at 10yds and 1" low at 20yds. I agree though, everyone will get different results.
Clear your weapons before handling them off the firing line every time, without exception. You can see the rounds between the slide and the frame, so they were definitely loaded. Take a couple seconds and practice responsible gun safety, brother.

Brian Gray good to know. I'm in the market. Thanks
Thank you very much, in the market and you just helped out
You just saved me from buying the tfo and switching to the tfx. Thank you!
Donde podria comprar una truglo tfx para envio a colombia q las vendan originales no falta la imitacion por ahi
is the glock 19 a good 1st pistol? looking at the g19 and also the cz p01

I was in the same predicament and went with the Glock 19 gen 3

+RogueLSG88 Sounds workable, but would require purchase of 2 sets for one pistol!

do i have to refill the light to the sight before get into the darkness??
Thanks for the video. It helped me decide to go with the TFX.

thank you for the video, it cleared a lot up for me.
Thanks , you explain what I need to know to decide ...¡¡¡¡ great, short and clear video..¡¡¡¡
Which sights are on the Glock 43 in the video?
Don't let complacency ruin a good day....... Thanks for the video!

+brian8655 wanted to also say good video, exactly what i was looking for when I googled "TFO vs TFX"
The TFX are encased because the TFO sights were subject to damage from gun solvents. Per their website the TFX are impervious.
TFO it’s better bigger and cheaper than TFX
thanks for the vid! helped me make the decision lol

Do the TruGlo TFX sights shoot low like the TFO do? Google for reviews on the TFO.

The Truglo are sighted from the factory at 25 yards.
@donmontalvo1 so you thought the Ameriglos was better than the tfx? Which Ameriglos was you using? The Agent or Spartan?
What's up Mr. Glock Man.
thanks
Turn off the light!

Steven Bringhurst safety nazi in da house..
Are they magically going to chamber a round?? If you knew anything about a glock its really easy to see there is Not a round in the chamber...
As ong as one keeps his fingers off the trigger I don't see a problem.
