I read City of God, every word, with no idea what Augustines purpose was - it was daunting and I was lost. When I was done, ai thought: that was like sitting on your grampas lap...listening so intently to the passion, wit, and wisdom...but, too immature and unprepared to understand that "points". The law does appear to give sanction to greed. We need to build cities of God.
