Hello peeps, someone kindly pointed out that my statement that the royals are only "culturally significant" rather than politically was inaccurate. It's been revealed that the queen has (allegedly) lobbied for climate law exemptions and changes in law to hide her private wealth. So yeah - pretty 'effed up stuff! I suggest looking up QAnon, it's all connected. Pizzagate, Jeffery Epstein, prince Andrew. There is also the Firm, which is group of people that control the royal family, Megan mentioned in Oprah's interview. The Firm have very luxurious dinner parties with elites and especially those who control the media and journalism. We loved Diana, and when she was murdered we blamed the royal family. Now they must feed us hate for Megan so this time we don't question them.
And it turns out they didn’t pay for that. No security, or titles for you young master. They are diabolical because they were leaking to the press at the time that this was Harry and Meghan’s choice, and they made sure to really muddy the waters by throwing in new age stuff and doulas!
Yeah. Brits don't realize that nobody except for them cares about royal family. I don't want to visit London because of royal family. I'm russian and we like killed our king in the last century so we are not really fond of monarchy. I just want to see cute architecture, eat in London's vegan cafes that I heard are very nice, and ride a bike across the city all day.
yeah but even if you abolish the monarchy, the royal family still gets to hold onto the land they have. This includes the palaces and the gift shops etc. Thus, unless you wanna go Robespierre chopping their heads off or confiscate their land through some unconstitutional business, we would lose money. I hope this makes sense.
Even weirder to me, as an American, is when Americans are obsessed with the royal family. My mom absolutely loves keeping up with news about the royal family, and I'll never understand why. My only guess is that seeing Princess Di get married as a teenager got her enraptured or something.
I don't get it at all. Americans should be thumbing their noses at the fact that we still have such an archaic institution, especially since they fought a war against it. Yet so many Americans are utterly obsessed with them. I don't get it
Yeah, I think Princess Diana was such a global celebrity that she drew the entire world’s attention to the British Royals. My mum was the same when I was younger (we even had a dog named Diana), and I remember her sobbing when we heard the news of Diana’s death. Thankfully she’s not so interested in them these days.
shamed my mum out of it. it was very easy just threw the colonialism and slavery card into it and now there's no more talk of the black princess. She took my man I don't wanna hear it.
Yeah. Back when I was in high school (2011-2015) I had a couple friends who were REALLY into the royals, and were completely swept up in the royal wedding. I never understood how they could be so invested in the lives of another country’s celebrities.
the whole discussion around harry and meghan keeping their children private is particularly galling considering how many times harry has talked about how traumatic it was for him to grow up in the limelight….
Harry and Meghan: I want to keep my children away from paparazzi and not post their pictures. The press: 🤡Let’s not respect that while having a surface level conversation about making children famous. 🤡
But these guys will refuse to listen to Harry and his own long time struggle with this issue. As if the guy wasn’t looking for a solid opportunity to bail. It’s all Meghan’s fault.

they're still under the impression that racism is some abstract, invisible force that's only actionable by people who wear white hoods or yell racial slurs, so the racism can't possibly be questioned. they haven't realised that actually, racism (along with other prejudices and biases) is far, far more insidious and subtle in day-to-day life than most people who've never experienced it themselves will ever really understand. I did notice a lot of the people doing their namby pamby 'lets fight racism together but never call anyone out or discuss it properly' were mainly white, while a lot of the people arguing that specific people should be held accountable and that it should be treated as a down-to-earth, serious topic rather than some abstract concept were not white. it does seem a bit like unless white people make the effort to go out of our way to actually learn this stuff, it's very easy to just continue living life in that little bubble of 'oh of course I'M not racist and no one i know is racist, because racism is evil! just because i automatically assume non-white people are probably criminals doesn't make me racist, because i'm still NICE to people to their face, i'm not EVIL like REAL racists!' But a lot of people don't like being uncomfortable, and unfortunately when you start to learn about this sort of thing, it can be uncomfortable and difficult to talk about. A disgusting amount of people just... never bothered to learn more than racism = bad in primary school, I guess. and then those people get into positions of power and it's just awful
I'm very much against the establishment of royal families, but I feel so bad for them when they are still children. The Dutch royal daughters are all teenagers now, with the oldest being 18, and all people do is discuss which one is the "sexiest daughter" and a bunch of fatphobic shit about the oldest one. They don't deserve such a spotlight of negativity on their appearance from such a young age
Same... The kids are also whom I feel the most sympathy for in this case. They did not consent to be broadcasted like this and have every itty bitty parts of their lives be discussed upon by mostly older grown men!
yeah i feel really bad for any famous kid. could be kids of royals, presidential kids, child actors, etc. no one should be thrust into limelight at such a young age
I’m sure somewhere in the world it’s considered a human rights violation to groom and force a child into a profession, and if they don’t want that life then they have to be destroyed. Because no one is allowed to leave a royal family alive. Today, they can’t behead them or force them to hide in exile, but they try to destroy them and turn them into a nonperson so that they fail in life and have to hide. *Hint: Meghan Markle bullying “investigation” by Buckingham Palace… Royal courtiers we’re hoping Meghan would be canceled for bullying.

The acts of past monarchs, good and bad are acknowledged, although to be fair to them most things carried out in their name were the acts of the government in a constitutional monarchy. And how exactly are the present royal family affecting anyone, except at a personal level? No, we don't need to have some collective guilt confession orgy for things that other people did who might be related to us or held a position in the past we hold now. @@Some_guy_passing_by If she refused, no one would hear about it. The Royal Family would orpay the press to say that he had refused her. Probably this is what happened the other times these princes proposals were refused.
Not to mention the family pressured Charles to marry her and her to accept. They made it seem like it was his royal duty to do so and if he didn’t he would bring shame to the family. They emotionally and psychologically manipulated him to marry her. She was 19!!! How could she have known the magnitude of what she was getting into?

I remember being pregnant. I didn't show until late in my pregnancy, so I was startled and sometimes made extremely anxious by random people in public attempting to touch my stomach, or lean down for a look, or making comments about how close I must be to giving birth. I spent my life previously not really wanting to be seen or noticed in public (as a result of various things but mainly molestation, being a loner and unpopular child, being catcalled, having an eating disorder, etc.), so people paying attention to my stomach and touching me and asking me questions about my body was like a nightmare I couldn't wake up from. I often remember putting my hands over my stomach, likely more of a defense mechanism, in public, all the time. Poor Meghan. I often feel very sorry for her.
Maybe it's just cuz I'm in the US, but I never have feelings of "comfort" when I see The Queen. Instead, my mind always ruminate on how old she must be now, and how she still looks the same now as she did over 30 years ago when I first recall having seen her. After that, my mind moves on.
I get the same feeling when I see the Queen as when I see any seemingly benign old lady looking healthy and being mobile at her age, which is "that's nice; good for her! It'd be nice, too, if we all got to do that -- to live so long and maintain ourselves in such good condition."

It’s so sad that Diane was abused for so long while the press ridiculed her. She was nineteen when she got married to a creepy 32 year old and no one thought it was fucked up 😭🤮💀
It was seen as a fairytale come true. A "commoner" marrying an heir to the throne. I've understood that's why the "fairytale wedding" was so popular and became iconic. I don't know if I've seen it or not, since I was just a small child back then, but I did watch prince Andrew getting married to Sarah Ferguson... It feels like a totally different time period, though it isn't that long ago. Btw I guess this video was the first time I learned just how young Diana was. If it was ever talked about in the 80's I would have been thinking she was "old" and a fully grown up woman, just because kids think that. Now in my 40's I feel so bad for Diana, that she was barely of age, still just a teenager trying to figure out the world.
I don't know if it's a benefit of being removed as an American, but it should NOT have been surprising to anyone that Harry decided to leave. It's probably something he's continually thought about, maybe obsessively, after Princess Diana's death. Being part of the royal family literally _killed_ his mother (cough charles cough). Plus, children are much more astute and aware than we give then credit for. Lord knows, Diana did all she could, but those boys _knew_ everything that was going on. Even as little kids, they were aware in some way that she was aching and miserable. It makes entirely perfect sense that the second he sensed his wife going down the same path, Harry would get up and say, "I can do something this time around and I'm choosing to make it stop. I refuse to do this a second time." Everything that happened to Diana is an absolute tragedy. That tragedy is precisely why Harry told them to take their shit and he was out.
It's so weird to see the similarities between British and Italian tabloids, down to the obsession for the Royal Family and the reactions to accusations of racism. I unfortunately had the chance to witness the media coverage about Meghan's interview with Ophrah and they did nothing but blame her and compare her to Diana. When racism was brought into question, not only was it discussed between a group of exclusively white columnists, but the main reactions to it were iterations of "What? The Royal Family would never do that!" like they personally knew them.
@@thepandoricaoffandomsbacku7349 I'm Italian too and I definitely agree! We have a huge issue with that and with sexist remarks in general... journalists seem to miss the point on a lot of issues
A lot of people can only view racism through the prism of horrifically violent atrocities. Racism to them is chaining someone up, lynching someone from a tree, or packing people in cattle cars to be taken to camps. There are way too many people who hold their nationality as the most fundamental part of their person. Ergo, "If some British people are being accused of racism, then I am being accused of racism, and I can't be racist, because I know a POC and I've never strung them up from a tree"

Hey, do you guys remember those photos of William and Kate being carried on an elevated throne by the local people of Tuvalu, a british colony that's drowned in poverty? I think about that often.
Well, those countries themselves don't want to drop the British monarchy, but I guess that is cause if they did, they would lose much support from the Commonwealth etc. Just the new form of colonialism
@@KateeAngel but what kind of support from Commonwealth are we talking about if the country is below poverty line? The only valuable and the most important support is economical. And they don't provide that. Also let's be honest, it might be just the rich and the nobles of Tuvalu who want to stay a british colony and not the people themselves. Considering that most of their population doesn't have a basic education, the people also might not understand their position as a colony and its consequences on their lives. So even if the people "want" to stay a colony, they might not understand that that's one of the reasons why they live in poverty. It's like when some poor common folk was against abolishing monarchy during French Revolution even though it was the reason for why they had no rights whatsoever. Or it's like poor common folk of today's UK doesn't want to abolish monarchy because that's what they are used to and they feel like it's the end of british culture. The people don't have enough information on their hands and how can people make a fair democratic decision about staying a monarchy if they don't even know all the facts?
Yes.. that is a traditional Tuvalu ceremony to welcome visitors who arrive by sea, they do it to all guests- and they take great pride in that ceremony. I wouldn't doubt Princess Diaries plays into why Megan does so well in US. We grew up watching this story of an American girl getting swept away to be a princess in another country and her finding love. We want her to have the opportunity the Happily Ever After that Diana didn't get.
I hate when people say “Well, you chose this.” Yes, you can be warned about it…and be 100% aware it won’t be easy but until you are living that experience most people won’t realize how difficult it is. Not to mention all the small things/situations you never thought of that can wear away at you or stress you out. It can apply to anything…like children, stressful jobs, marrying someone in the military, even getting a puppy. I think people need to be more understanding of people’s suffering, sometimes things are hard to completely comprehend until you are in the middle of them.
I remember everyone laughing at Meghan Markle when she made a point about being a celebrity was nothing like being a royal - "Lol, she really thought being in the monarchy was going to be like being a Kardashian?!" Like, what else was she supposed to compare it to? No one freaking knows what it's like to be a royal, except the royals. It seems perfectly understandable to me that she assumed having experience with celebrity culture would prepare her in some way. And seeing as plenty of people have talked about our sense of entitlement and ownership over celebrities, it's very weird to me that no one seems to be wondering, "Hey, isn't it kind of fucked that something even more intense than that not only exists, but that people are actually BORN into that life, raised to think it's normal, and have almost no choice about living it?"
Not to mention that you should just be able to love and commit to someone without being expected to commit to the screwed up entitlement that people feel over them and their family. She and Harry loved each other and did not ask to be scrutinized for literally almost every move they make. Let’s criticize the actions of the media and not their reaction to their stupid shenanigans, eh?
Piers hating Meghan because she didn't consider them friends or find him attractive or whatever he actually wanted, after just a few drinks is honestly worse than if he had just been racist for no reason beyond that.
I think the royal family is so interesting because it's feels so in the past but they are almost like "official" celebrities. Like if Queen Elizabeth dies, it really will be the end of an era and the monarchy will likely be in danger.
I think the whole Britney Spears situation is a really good example of how good things like Twitter and Instagram can be for celebrities. It leaves no room for "tabloid gossip" because the celebrities have a direct outlet to the public.
Hello, dear little subscriptions. Tara is right, I wish I could have been in today's video. I was really looking forward to it. But I was simply starving, and had to skip on over to get some veggie sushi! It was delicious. Have a wonderful day!
Hey subscriptions, for those wondering the dog during the Raycon ad isn't mine. I walk him 3 days a week, but I love him as if he's mine 😘 his name is Oscar and he's very handsome.
I raised you! I fed you! My mom like, starved me (for fun. I had to steal food to survive for me and my younger sister) and neglected me (as a sort of in between abuse thing). But she was still like: I gave birth to you! I carried you for nine months! You owe me! For the rest of your life you must wait on me hand and foot no matter how harmful this is to you because I am your mother! So, they can do far less then the bare minimum, hell, they can wind up solidly in the red and still feel entitled to your bloody soul.
Absolutely loved this! Couldn’t agree more, the only thing I would add is that the UK (esp England) is the most classist place I’ve ever lived, that the media is overwhelming owned by the upper class and the royal family is perhaps the most common symbol of this upper class. As such, an attack on the royal family is an attack on the upper class, which threatens the foundations of their power and privilege. Promoting and protecting the royals through their media is a way to protect their own power. Which also explains why the print media in this country leans so heavily right politically.
Being from Spain, I can relate to this video. We actually got rid of our monarchs for a while, but then came this dingus and reinstaurated them after a 40 year dictadorship. And now, we can't even complain to hard or you go to jail.
Recently a story came out on how the dutch royal family turned some of their grounds into national parks (which gives them national funding to maintain the grounds), but they got a blanket exception to the rule that the grounds then need to be open to the public year round. The royal family gets to close the grounds for private hunting for several months in the year without *any* repercussions. They get to have their cake and eat it too. This has not become a scandal. Of course it's a relatively minor thing, but I think it speaks to the casual corruption people with such massive amounts of (social) capital. Because I think that while our royal families might not be literal billionaires, their reputation and prestige makes up for that difference. Neither the royal families or billionaires should exist in my opinion. The potential for abuse of power is just too great.
I've read the dutch royal family are very corrupt, especially the father. the daughter wrote a letter in favour of her allowance or something of the sort being cut down because of current circumstances if im not wrong.
@Joelle Jansen Truth. I read about that. I have to agree with 'with money comes power, with power comes corruption...' and the wheel keeps ongoing. No Monarchy or famous person should have that much influence over the public.
No that didn't 'come out' that agreement between the royal family and the government has been a contentious point since 50 years or so. Everyone knew that the agreement was that the Forrest owned by the royal family would open up 9 months out of the year and for that time it was being looked after (and therefore paid for) by the government. It's not exactly corruption even if it's a bad deal not in keeping with modernity.
@@floralbeautyful that's just not true lmao. There has to my knowledge not been any corruption scandals of the king, whom I assume you mean as 'the father'. If you talk about the king's father you are closer (but he's dead since 20 years and mainly disliked for being German) but I think you are mainly looking for the grandfather (dead like 20 years) who was regarded as a huge asshole and the king's Nephew who is a housemilker. And you are wrong about the future crown Princess (the 'daughter') basically she turns 18 this year and was supposed to get an allowance for a million euros per year from now on to make her own security detail and secretary as she is an adult now. She wrote a letter asking for it only after she will complete her studies. This was a point of public discussion already when her dad came of age and she apparently wanted to be in front of it. There are many things to criticize our royal family for, even very juicy stuff if you are looking, but at least be accurate and specific. Not talking wrongly about 'sth you read something somewhere some time'.
I may not be British, but the, "You haven't been wronged, because I'm not a bigot," argument rang a few bells. I see it constantly in British media, but it's certainly an American problem too. A person has been wronged, so they ask the perpetrator to take responsibility for the action. However, the perpetrator twists this. In the perpetrator's version, it becomes an accusation against their very identity. A: "Your action has harmed me. It was harmful, because it was bigoted." B: "My action was not bigoted, because I do not identity as a bigoted person. Therefore, it was not harmful." B: "By proclaiming that I am a bigot, when that is not my identity, you are baselessly slandering my identity." When nationalism becomes part of personal identity, fruitful discourse about the royals becomes almost totally impossible.
I’m from a colony of Britain who’s people were murdered, oppressed, starved, stolen from and partitioned by Britain. It’s genuinely quite hurtful seeing people romanticise the royal family when they and the British govt are responsible for so much conflict and evil. They survive off of our tax money, living in wealth and luxury meanwhile us ordinary people can’t afford to buy a home because prices are rising, we can’t get treatment on the NHS because the waiting lists are too long and schools don’t have enough money to survive, they could probably benefit from that money. It’s an outdated institution that has absolutely no benefit to us
To be fair Princes Diana, is a goat, and started the royal trend of philanthropy and human activism amoung many other things. She also was a ✨ baddie ✨
You should also check out the "You're Wrong About" podcast -- they have an entertaining, yet kind and compassionate FIVE PART SERIES on her. I never knew a lot about Diana and it was my first time listening to that podcast and I had no idea how fascinating I would find it.
In my country we had a sort of "high life" society magazine and they were all over Diana and her wedding (and after taht - her life). I couldn't read well yet, but I will always remember a piece on the jewels Diana got from Queen Elizabeth. I was sooo impressed, that 30 years later her wedding ring is still my favourite type of ring - an oval blue sapphire surrounded by 14 diamonds set in a white gold band. It made such an impression on my younger self that to that day I still remember how stunned I was.
Why are they even discussing about a baby’s privacy as if it’s not due automatically? It’s a baby, not an object, the parents can do whatever they want with him, if your defense is that you are paying taxes for an entire monarchy just so see a baby’s christening I am afraid to break it to you but you’re quite delusional
My mom was trying to claim "Meghan made it racial!!!" My response was "When the Daily Mail said her mom was 'Straight Outta Compton', that was Meghan making it racial? When they called her son a Chimpanzee, was that her making it racial? When the girlfriend of a politician was saying she was disgusted because 'black people are ugly' was that Meghan making it racial?" She was speechless for a moment, then went "Well, yes, that's stupid, but I read-" and she switched the subject to some crazy rumor she read on Lipstick Alley about Meghan gluing someone's eyes shut. Me: Mom, if that were true, it would have been plastered all over every British tabloid a year ago Mom: WELL, IT'S OUT THERE!!! Me: It's also "out there" that the entire Windsor clan is lizard people. What's your point? She hung up.
@Wendy Nerd 😂 Oh no... I have and had similar conversations with my friends and colleagues. I just ignore the topic and when they ask on whose side I am on. I ask them "Why should we care about the baby or the Queen's dogs, or about the hat Lady Beatrice was wearing? We are not British nor do we pay them to appear on international news. I am going inside to read a book..." They just stare and stay sooo quiet and silence is gold. Then I realize that was not the main topic and they get it. Not every conversation has to start about the British.
You literally named TWO instances of actual racism. TWO TWO Nothing else was racist AND I KNOW because I've been paying attention. Markle got unfavourable press because she's an unlikable personality. Which has nothing to do with her skin colour. One can be unlikable and obnoxious no matter their skin colour. So while we can recognize that a few articles were racist, others were just unfavorable. Markle is entirely responsible for her own reputation. Nobody helped her ruin it AFTER Megxit. She did it ALL BY HERSELF

I live in New Zealand, and the level of the media obsession with the royals is even intense here. They are CONSTANTLY the front cover of our gossip magazines. When William and Kate got married, my mum’s friend held a ‘viewing party’ where everyone was encouraged to wear wedding dresses. My grandma has a lot of opinions about Harry and Meghan, and will not stop talking about them as if she knows them. It’s… weird.
It's surprisingly intense here in the States. You can't go into a grocery store without seeing some magazine shitting on Meghan Markle or praising Kate for doing literally nothing.
God, I just started this, I'm an Australian and as someone who has been homeless at 16, the fact that taxes can go to someone who is born into privilege rather than the community is just, so sad. I really feel for the British in poverty, community housing, and are trapped in the welfare cycle
The money would still be hoarded by the 2%. There's no monarchy in America and homelessness is the highest it's ever been. Companies refuse to pay workers enough to live, then they play victim that nobody wants to slave away for the peanuts the company pays.
@@Laladust I agree and you are right. At the end of the day capitalism is generally flawed and I honestly really feel for America and the people who do live in poverty, in particular with the healthcare system. I don't think anyone should have to go without the esstentials like healthcare, food, shelter etc.
I'm a non british person living in England. I got married, the marriage fell apart and ended up alone. It was then that I found out that the UK provides no accomodation or even will look at cases of any abuse at the city council level unless youve lived in the uk minimum 3 years. This includes being able to be legally classified as homeless, access state housing, or any job support. If you have a job, you still pay UK taxes to the royal family.
I don't think that's really comparable. You're paying for a service and receive it up front. This is more like how I pay for school lunches via taxes. Therefore, I deserve to come down to the school and watch kids eat it. Maybe take a few pictures.
I've hated the royal family since my family woke me up at like 4 am to watch the royal wedding of William and Kate when I was a kid(and I'm American). It's been downhill from there in my eyes
It is so obvious that Meghan's sister is seething with jealousy - look at how quick she was to start attacking her to gain attention for herself. Pathetic, desperate and sad...
As an Austrian I'm so very grateful we got rid of the Habsburgs, we still have tons of tourists who want to buy memorabilia and visit the palaces but we're not supporting some useless royal family on tax money.
But still a 103 years later there are still people obsessed with them and i am talking about Austrians like people are actually keeping up with the living habsburgs or visit the kaiservilla on the day of franz josephs death/birthday

yeah but even if you abolish the monarchy, the royal family still gets to hold onto the land they have. I hope this makes sense.
Even weirder to me, as an American, is when Americans are obsessed with the royal family. My mom absolutely loves keeping up with news about the royal family, and I'll never understand why. My only guess is that seeing Princess Di get married as a teenager got her enraptured or something.

"Lets fight racism together but let's not hold famous racists accountable" do these people even hear themselves? It literally doesn't make sense
"Let's fight racism together, but it's only racist when the other party does it."
they're still under the impression that racism is some abstract, invisible force that's only actionable by people who wear white hoods or yell racial slurs, so the racism can't possibly be questioned. they haven't realised that actually, racism (along with other prejudices and biases) is far, far more insidious and subtle in day-to-day life than most people who've never experienced it themselves will ever really understand. I did notice a lot of the people doing their namby pamby 'lets fight racism together but never call anyone out or discuss it properly' were mainly white, while a lot of the people arguing that specific people should be held accountable and that it should be treated as a down-to-earth, serious topic rather than some abstract concept were not white. it does seem a bit like unless white people make the effort to go out of our way to actually learn this stuff, it's very easy to just continue living life in that little bubble of 'oh of course I'M not racist and no one i know is racist, because racism is evil! just because i automatically assume non-white people are probably criminals doesn't make me racist, because i'm still NICE to people to their face, i'm not EVIL like REAL racists!'
But a lot of people don't like being uncomfortable, and unfortunately when you start to learn about this sort of thing, it can be uncomfortable and difficult to talk about.
They don't deserve such a spotlight of negativity on their appearance from such a young age
that's so grim 🤢

An absolute mess honestly. She'll forever be the only person from the royal family who wasnt actually awful.
Have you seen the coverage of Andrew vs Meghan? Why are you surprised that it was the same for Diana.
I refuse to do this a second time."
Everything that happened to Diana is an absolute tragedy. That tragedy is precisely why Harry told them to take their shit and he was out.

Misogynoir
:(
intersectional bigotry
An *incel* , if you will.
I think the royal family is so interesting because it's feels so in the past but they are almost like "official" celebrities. Like if Queen Elizabeth dies, it really will be the end of an era and the monarchy will likely be in danger.
Good.
i love how you say “if” like she might just be immortal 😶
No one left after her is likable or charismatic. I predict they will get worse with the manipulating of the press to stay popular and relevant.
I think the whole Britney Spears situation is a really good example of how good things like Twitter and Instagram can be for celebrities. It leaves no room for "tabloid gossip" because the celebrities have a direct outlet to the public.
True. They can get ahead of the story themselves.
Hello, dear little subscriptions.
Tara is right, I wish I could have been in today's video. I was really looking forward to it. But I was simply starving, and had to skip on over to get some veggie sushi!
It was delicious.

Hey subscriptions, for those wondering the dog during the Raycon ad isn't mine. I walk him 3 days a week, but I love him as if he's mine 😘 his name is Oscar and he's very handsome.
He's a very beautiful boy. I love Vizsla dogs
I watched the raycon ad twice just for that lovie
Give Oscar my love ❤️
I love Oscar
Oscar made my day.
I raised you! I fed you!
My mom like, starved me (for fun. I had to steal food to survive for me and my younger sister) and neglected me (as a sort of in between abuse thing). But she was still like:
I gave birth to you!
Who would you classify as the upper class
Good insight
"It is actually impossible for me to sweat so she is in fact obviously lying about everything!" - that actually made me cackle out loud
ack i accidentally disliked your comment sorry
@@hameley12 with great power comes great irresponsibility
Piss Morgan is a whiny nice guy who thinks he's entitled to a womans time and can't handle rejection.
He's the definition of an incel.
It was harmful, because it was bigoted."
B: "My action was not bigoted, because I do not identity as a bigoted person. Therefore, it was not harmful."
B: "By proclaiming that I am a bigot, when that is not my identity, you are baselessly slandering my identity."
When nationalism becomes part of personal identity, fruitful discourse about the royals becomes almost totally impossible.
It’s an outdated institution that has absolutely no benefit to us
So ready for this after years of hearing my aunties talk about how much they love Princess Diana, I’ve been preparing for this all my life 😌✋🏾
same and i don't even live in the uk
To be fair Princes Diana, is a goat, and started the royal trend of philanthropy and human activism amoung many other things. She also was a ✨ baddie ✨
You should also check out the "You're Wrong About" podcast -- they have an entertaining, yet kind and compassionate FIVE PART SERIES on her. I never knew a lot about Diana and it was my first time listening to that podcast and I had no idea how fascinating I would find it.
i don’t mind diana too much it’s just the rest
In my country we had a sort of "high life" society magazine and they were all over Diana and her wedding (and after taht - her life). I couldn't read well yet, but I will always remember a piece on the jewels Diana got from Queen Elizabeth. I was sooo impressed, that 30 years later her wedding ring is still my favourite type of ring - an oval blue sapphire surrounded by 14 diamonds set in a white gold band. It made such an impression on my younger self that to that day I still remember how stunned I was.
I refuse to believe 1.9 billion people watched that royal wedding, like there's NO WAY that's possible wtf 😫
I also doubt that number.
That person who went all eyes emoji and said "why?" was literally so relatable. Hope they're having a good day lol
Exactly. Like maybe you should be questioning why you're paying for something so ridiculous in the first place lmao
My mom was trying to claim "Meghan made it racial!!!" My response was "When the Daily Mail said her mom was 'Straight Outta Compton', that was Meghan making it racial? When they called her son a Chimpanzee, was that her making it racial? When the girlfriend of a politician was saying she was disgusted because 'black people are ugly' was that Meghan making it racial?"
She was speechless for a moment, then went "Well, yes, that's stupid, but I read-" and she switched the subject to some crazy rumor she read on Lipstick Alley about Meghan gluing someone's eyes shut.
Me: Mom, if that were true, it would have been plastered all over every British tabloid a year ago
Mom: WELL, IT'S OUT THERE!!!
You read ur mum to filth😗😌
LOL I saw that stupid rumour on lipstick alley. They have been spreading tons of weird rumours, it’s wild
You literally named TWO instances of actual racism.
TWO
TWO
Nothing else was racist AND I KNOW because I've been paying attention.
@@Sage-Em Do you know Megan personally?

Freedom of Speech for who?
Only one side is allowed freedom of speech now?
I live in New Zealand, and the level of the media obsession with the royals is even intense here. They are CONSTANTLY the front cover of our gossip magazines. When William and Kate got married, my mum’s friend held a ‘viewing party’ where everyone was encouraged to wear wedding dresses. My grandma has a lot of opinions about Harry and Meghan, and will not stop talking about them as if she knows them. It’s… weird.
Thats messed up on every level
It's surprisingly intense here in the States. You can't go into a grocery store without seeing some magazine shitting on Meghan Markle or praising Kate for doing literally nothing.
Aren't we still a commonwealth contry? I mean the queens still on our coins but yeah it's pretty weird.
Yes, that is true but there are programs you can apply for to receive assistance.
@@nae7988 it's not nearly enough to live on though. Not even remotely.
If you have a job, you still pay UK taxes to the royal family.
watching this after the queen died lmao
Same
One of the best so rewatched.
I have not gotten the time to watch this video ( school work and stuff) and watching this after the queen died will be fun!
I "pay for" my dentist. You can be sure as shit I wouldn't feel entitled to see pictures of their kids. It would be creep as f*ck if I did.
That sounds like a family occasion lmao
@@alexander619 Yeah, it's pretty cringe, but that's a tiny minority of usually elderly conservatives, the media barely ever mentions them and the vast majority of Austrians couldn't care less.
@@alexander619 Also, even if the Habsburgs tried to get back into power, the current head of the Habsburg family is probably even less likely to charm people than Prince Charles, these people are INBRED. My mom used to work summers at the Kaiservilla as a student and she told me the story that once when they had a new coworker and the head of the family came in and she seriously thought he was a random mentally disabled guy 😂
The prince Andrew situation is wild. Like why isn't he in jail?
@Gary Allen Virginia Roberts Giuffre was underage and trafficked. Her allegations should be taken seriously and investigated.
@Gary Allen he did a whole ass interview where he lied about everything. If he had nothing to hide then this wouldve been over a long time ago. Also, the royal family are covering it up in the media and using harry and meghan to get the attention off of him.
@Gary Allen literally yes.
@Gary Allen Make Uk a republic or just abolish the monarchy!
@Gary Allen Yes, yes they do
As a tourist, I didn't go to the UK for the royals. I really couldn't care less about seeing them. I went to see the historical sites.
What places did you go see? I find them interesting.
@@AlderTheSwirl tower, Stonehenge, Shakespeare's burial/home, museums, guided tours in Edinburgh/London, and more. My favorite was the guided tour my host "dad" (I was studying there for a month) gave me. He showed me places he worked, where he went to school, where his wife hid out during WW2, and little pubs he went to when he was younger. I love history, and care more about that than celebrities (royals). UK is a beautiful place.
It’s extremely weird. Seeing my 76 year old father faun over the Queen was akin to seeing some teen gush over a celeb. It was a strange, jarring sight.
It's very strange. My 50+ parents and siblings in their late 20s-early 30s (we're all very much so working class) are obsessed and up in arms about Megan. A bit mad.
It's weird seeing my 70 year old AMERICAN father fawning over the queen and royal family and defending the institution of the monarchy
UGH, I was working at a party store during Kate's wedding, and people were showing up in droves to order balloons so they could decorate their house like it was a wedding reception, except all they were doing was watching STRANGERS ON TV!!!! And this is in the USA!!!
I actually _offended_ my coworkers by not giving a damn.
They're like, "you didn't know there was a royal wedding?"
"No, I don't follow the tabloids."
**gaaaasp** "It's not tabloids! It's real news!"
"No, it's the personal lives of people I'll never meet _pretending_ to be news. That's a tabloid."
I only cared about the royal wedding because it gave me an extra day off school.
@@carolinemcgovern4488 Wait, what!? Damnit, we didn't get that in Canada 😡
Why is Pier Morgan against Meghan interview criticizing the royal family but was OK with her family criticizing her in his show??
