FINALLY! An excellent tutorial around youtube. Thank you! Would be great if you can upload one for each surf maneuver. Got a follower here , excellent excellent stuff man. Cheers
Awesome tutorial. This is true surf style! A lot of „instructors“ wave around their arms a lot but the movement seems off. Your flow is for realz 😂🤙🏻 Subbed.
Fantastic as usual. Thanks to you I have been learning more and more on my new Manta Ray SmoothStar. LOVE IT...I have a question related to the cutback. How do you do such a tight cutback , almost turn on a Dime, without falling ? Every time I try to do a sharp cut back , I end up "nose dive in" and falling ...Think of U , starting at the right of the "U" (2 o'clock here), I get the front wheel dive right at the 7 o'clock of the "U"...Any tips? Thank you ....Should I put more wait on the back foot? Right now I m more emphasizing the front foot for weight
thank you! Stoked to hear you're learning from my vids and loving your Smoothstar! I'm guessing that would be subject to putting more weight on your front leg as you turn. Try doing wider more drawn out turns to start off with this might help. Also when you begin to turn think about doing a wheelie on you back wheels, but don't actually pop up onto your back wheels. You still want to keep that forward momentum while going through the turn, but doing this will help shift your weight more onto you back leg and help you drive through that turn with your back leg. Hope this helps! YEW!
@@YeWLayton Thanks so much . I will definitely take this suggestions and try them . I will start slowly and perhaps do like you show us, without a Surfskate, then on the Surfskate. Love your channel. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you! I don't tighten or loosen my trucks, I just leave them as is when I get a new board and wear them in. They slowly get a tad looser over time the more I ride.
Thanks! Yeah defiantly! I find you get a real sense of the correct movements that are required to to complete these manoeuvres out on a surfboard. You can really practice and get your mechanics right and the more you do it, the more you will notice it correspond with your surfing, especially if you can find a bit of a curb or ramp to skate on, it helps heaps.
I'm presuming you're referring to it doesn't scrape along the ground on the rebound? Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't - depends on the surface your skating and how hard you're hitting the rebound. e.g. I f want to really throw the tail on the rebound or get super vertical, my tail will most likely scrape the ground. If I'm more smooth with the rebound it probably wont. Whether the tail touches the ground or not, it won't impede on the functionality of the manoeuvre, it's just a different variation of the rebound section. Hope this helps YEW!

Hi, I want to get one but I live in the USA. Can they ship it? Thank you!

This is probably the most detailed skate tutorial I've ever seen. You managed to deconstruct the movements to an insane level. Kudos!
Thank you!, glad you enjoyed
Ever thought of doing something similar to your 180 front and backside transitions? 👊🏽💥💯
He's definitely a surfer. Look at the way he moves. And doing all of these maneuvers barefoot on the concrete!!!!! Bruh!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Can you please make a tutorial on how to do a snap and a carve
Yeah for sure! Will hopefully have a 'how to snap' tutorial in a couple of weeks!
Great videos...how loose do you run your trucks?

@@YeWLayton I've seen others say the same...leave it as it comes. Thanks for the response.
Looks great! Do you find the feeling actually translate to surfing, or not so much?

dope... thanks for the video

I am getting a smoothstar
EPIC!
How tall are you? If you don’t mind me asking. I got a smoothstar manta ray but fancy dropping down to the #77 like you are riding in the video.
I'm 6'2", 188cm. I like the #77 as it's a bit slimmer, so I can throw the tail round a bit easier
Dope!
Great! Thanks!
YEW!
is there any difference between a cutback and a roundhouse cutback on a surfskate? I don't understand the difference between them
The best💪
Thank you!
Sick video
Thank you!
It's properly smooth.
Smooth like butter
Do your brothers still Surfskate
Yeah they do!
