While it is valid that shady vendors are selling fake Sonicare brushes, it should also be noted that Sonicare products are imported, made in China. The various Chinese manufacturers usually supply the 'same' parts to different 'name brand' companies, including to the small independent off brand suppliers. This is the same with most all electronic products, such as mobile phone brands sharing some of the same internal components. On Amazon, there are vendors offering Sonicare brushes as 'replacements' and they are not passing it off as Sonicare fakes. The replacements are much lower affordable cost because they do not have the optional electronic reminder chips. Reviews of replacement brushes are mostly positive.
I noticed my brush heads from Amazon were scraping my lips as I moved it back and forth....the injection molds is not smooth like OEM. The bristle colors looked off as well.
Got a cheap 8 pack of the W2 heads and did wonder if they were genuine as the print on the side of the shaft was a little different to the one it came bundled with - not as sharp. However, when looking closely at the RFID chip you can see without taking it apart whether it is printed on or not; the chip extends down into the plastic and with the right lighting you can see the copper sheen of the coils it is attached to within the plastic, I think if you have the chip it likely cannot be fake - who the hell is going to fake the RFID chip? Probably the most expensive part of the whole brush.
Ive been using a cheap chinese amazon brand electric toothbrush for 2 years but recently I feel like my teeth are starting to feel more fragile. perhaps due to not having changed the head for a while. Im really considering investing in something like a genuine philips for health concerns. do you think the cheap amazon brands should be avoided?
In an ideal world yes. The quality tend not to be as good. They can (depends on actual head) be more abrasive on the teeth. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by fragile, but there could be other factors in your oral care routine that are impacting this. Have you had any dental checkups recently to confirm your teeth are healthy? When did you last replace the brush head?
@@ElectricTeeth Im afraid I havent had a checkup in years but will go this summer and I think I replaced the head 4-5 months ago. I got really worried so I got a sonicare 4100 lol I am not going to gamble with my teeth anymore. thank you for you response and your helpful content !
The cheap heads i bought on Amazon, even when new, were nowhere near as good as the originals, the bristles just don't have the right stiffness somehow to do a good job. Just like comparing a hotel freebie brush with a genuine name brand brush.
Thanks, so you what it means? Since this is a very remunerative market (low cost - high price) resellers of fake items decided to go for it.... Same for sneakers, same with all the fking capitalistic stuff
Well if you watched the video you do to some degree and I personally paid for sonicare brand if I wanted cheap knock offs I would of paid half the price

The chip is not that expensive. I remember about 0,20€ in bigger amounts but there are most likely cheaper options for RFID EEPROMs.
@@Torben1411 Counterfeiting is a low margin business - they'll keep costs low where at all possible, and nobody is going to look for a chip.

Where can i order sonicare 4300 brushheads
From lots of places. They use the push on & pull off style heads like most other Sonicare models.
I bought from Walmart and they’re fake 😭 I think it was from a third party seller on the Walmart website
It appears that the original toothbrush heads have a chip that fakes do not have.
Ok I’m good going to physical store then
Thank you
