- In this video I salt the pond as they are getting seriously stressed through the day. Stress lowers the immune system. They have a few red marks and I want to remove any chance of bacterial issues getting worse. Just a light salt tonic at .25%.
I strip the fry filters and tested their parameters 0.2 nitrite if that. 60% water change on them and a treatment for blanket weed.
I enjoy your videos Sir, keep them up 👍
Cheers bud really appreciate the comments.
Haha cheeky fish!! Nice video :-) Salt IMO always a good general use product!
It's so controversial you can't even mention it these days. 👍
@@dkoi-tv nah sod it if it work turn you then it's good! If you've been following me for a while i used salt quite a bit, got it up to .8% and used a huge huge dose of CT as well at same time. No blanket weed either lol
I have two big tanks which were in full sun. Whilst I don't think the fish were getting burnt or anything, the pH was swinging by .9 upwards by 4pm (its peak) due to the photosynthesis of the algae. In other words, the pond was becoming nearly 10 times less acid over a 24 hour period. The most they like to tolerate is a .3 shift. I put up a sail shade and it solved the pH swing - it's now less than .1.
Just gonna get one up.
I've had very good results with the probites chorella. The colors are very bright m both red black and white. I mix the chorella with 50% summer mix. There are color food in the sommer mix.
The shogun Ive had succes with to. But it takes time. I found that probites chorella works faster. You could try buying a small back of probites. Two weeks is enough to see a big difference.
Btw. Lovely pond.
Also. I noticed that when I went back to Japan mattings. The red and black got a ton better that when I had moving bed. I'm told that it's due to the mattings bio film over time makes some acid's that enhances the skin quality
Thank you for the information and comments. Will look into some of probites.
Color food is de problim...for de ylow color
Nope never fed it. Definitely growth food that caused it. High protein damaging the liver over a sustained period in older fish. Switched to wheatgerm and all is fine.
A sail cloth would help short term
I am gonna order one as a temp measure I think.
@@dkoi-tv thats it if it works then might spur you on to do the pergola
I want to do the pergola. It's just finding the time to get it built.
