Pete...I rented a set of pullers that has 4 sizes in addition to the style you showed..tie rods were not that bad using the tool, the drag links joint's I can't break free...already bent one of the 'rented' tools ...soaked it in penetrating oil and will keep working on it.....worst case is disconnect the idle arm and pitman arm and break free on the bench
I ran into same issue attempting to remove my drag links. I would recommend just pulling pitman arm and idle arm. I spent 4hrs trying and took to a shop.
@@petescarport thanks for relaying what you ran into as well, I tried 4 different type of splitters rented from Advance (ruined one one of them) I think it takes alot more psi than you can exert with screw based tools, needs a shop level press
The funny thing is it looks to be stock rear that is just no fluid and Bilstein front from what I can see. It was already on the car. I plan to to a whole new set up soon. I love how low this is but it rides very ruff
Hi Pete, Would you mind sharing the dimensions of your wheels and tires on the R129. I think they look great. And by the way WelDone, Excellent Behavior
Hi. The rims and tires came with the car. They are 18" but I don't know the offset on them. I believe its a 275 width tire in rear so thinking they are 10" rear.
Normally I don’t respond to these type of comments but check 5:00. I’ve never put a vehicle in the air without jack stands. I always leave my jack as back up.
Pete you are awesome for recording your repairs on the R129
Thanks. Appreciate it. I'm hoping to have a ton of videos on the other r129 as well.
@@petescarport just film all repairs editing down when you have the time.
I'm glad you documented this mistakes and all.
@@petescarport I just picked up a 98 a couple days your videos have been a life saver thanks man
Honestly, every time I see your impressive SL, it fascinates me even more. I advise you to have that jewel forever.
Thanks. I'm so in love with it myself. Can't stop driving. I got alignment done today and drove it everywhere
nice job on the video, great for including that tie rod ball joint press.
Thanks for watching
I'm loving that car more everytime I see it ✌✌
Pickle Fork ;) Thanks for the demo!

Hey just remember that people are watching from all over the world so your shops are not in my country :)))
The specialty tools might be available at different shops under different brands.
If it has a violent rocking or shake at 60 mph just go faster until it stops.
What suspension are you on? I just bought one and I cant find ANYTHING besides springs and struts.

Nice vid & clean car 💯

Mine is 2004 should I buy same tool?
You can rent the tool for free but yes it’s same tool for any car.
No shit? Lakeland here. 1992 Arctic White.
Nice. My main one now is white. If you watch newer videos you will see.
Unsafe where is the jack stand. Wow.
