Awesome demo man. This one really surprised me since I thought that Mesa had a deal with Amplitude for official licensed stuff. I really like the idea of them making more plugins based on hard to find amps. The Mark II C+ has such a classic sound.
Hey dude, I just released a signature amp sim with Audio Assault. It took us almost 4 years to create, and I would love for you to try it out. Are you interested?
Absolutely love the channel!!! This plug-in sounds amazing and I think it's your video out of all I seen that has convinced me to get it. But I gotta ask, you said "is it your favorite, no" , may I ask what is your favorite plug-in? Thanx brother, Stay Metal 🤘
Kinda my complaint with neural now is yeah they sound great and all but also I feel like a lot of the archetype plugins are sounding very similar except the extra features.
Well with the Archetypes, there is a lot of tonal overlap. 3 5150s (Plini's HBE+5150 Hybrid, Nolly's 5150 Block Letter, and Gojira's 5150III EL34), 2 JCM800s (Nolly and Henson), 4 Fender amps (Rabea and Gojira's Fender Twin, Plini's Fender + Dumble Hybrid, Wong's Clean Machine), and 2 Dumbles (Plini's Fender + Dumble Hybrid, Wong's Amp Snob). Leaving Archetypes Abasi and Petrucci as their own unique thing (as well as Archetype Rabea's Victory VX Kraken). The single amp suites are harder to replicate because they are their own unique thing.
sounds sick. I own the Nolly, Abasi, and Henson plug ins and it's already getting a little too redundant for me. Im not sure if this one will add much extra, but that's what that free trial is for
Neural should chill out on the Archetypes for a good while. There is a good enough amount of them with a variety of tones that they can focus on single amps for a good while. Personally I think Neural should shift their focus to hard to find/aquire amps for now.
any neural plugin without transpose feels like it's missing something now, I wish they'd put out a simple transposing plugin to run into the archetypes that don't have it. great video as always
I dislike that part of their business model. I don't think you "need" anything else if you have the petrucci. So in my case having it looked that is working not in their favour. I would buy more stuff if it's was less redundant and worked with each other better rather than everything trying to be it's own self contained unit. Audio assaults' reamp studio and Stl tones amp hub and Tonehub do this quite well.
the demo also had a broken link. emailed them and got a response with download links for the plug in, in 5 mins. ndsp has the best CS. the plug in sounds awesome.
He’s picking behind the bridge where the strings are resting, but not all guitars are going to have that space behind the bridge so you can also try strumming the strings behind the nut towards the tuning pegs to get a similar harmonic overtone type of sound, a more gainy tone also helps make them more audible, hope that helps :)
@@nb842 just gotta brush the string with you thumb, some places on the neck are easier than others, pinch harmonics don't like to sit still, you have to hit it the bend.
I've got a weird scratchy sound occurring when I do half palm muted chugs. It sounds to me like some kind of unexpected digital artifact from the algorithm. Sounds great otherwise
@@luigigetsu i guess john's plugin is based on a mesa, and it's probably slightly altered to his sound, which is more of a cab thing. so the plugins should be somewhat similar with different impulse responses and stuff like that. I don't work at neural tho, so idk.
As far as I know, petrucci’s IIC+ Is the non-simulclass version. The difference between it and a DRG like Het’s is significant. I won’t be pretentious, as if I had a IIC+, but, from my experience with my III Blue Stripe, I wouldn’t buy a non-DRG.
I've been really wanting to try this amp out for quite some time. I personally much prefer the sound of analog solid state guitar amp heads because of gear like the Exciter bringing the most mid-forward of solid state amplifiers into professional High Gain tube amp territory, while allowing me to achieve a non compressed, open, tight tone without the need for a boost. With that being said, the Mark series of amplifiers are my dream amps and i'd love to try this plugin out for myself. 😩
What am I hearing, meaning what r u playing thru? That was fat man. I want a home studio. And I’m curious about yours. Mostly because you speak American and not British !

You can demo for 2 weeks

I love the sound you got by picking behind the bridge! Such a cool idea. It totally works with this plugin!
I think so too!
Sounds really good. Im glad they managed to make “official” “licensed” plugin.
This is your best sounding video by far. Impressive tones, nice playing!
Wow, thanks!
That Les Paul Custom looks amazing. Love the the tones. I will eventually pick up this plugin.

Damn Ray!! The plugin is great but your guitar playing is getting so much better. Great job!!
Sounds amazing, great job. Just curious what string gauge you're using for drop B on a Les Paul? Thanks.
Finally someone using the amp like it should be used!

Dude, you’re so legit I can put a like on this video without skipping a beat on this beast pack.
The most beautiful Les Paul Custom Natural of the RUclips Game !! Every time I see it, I expect to find one like that !!

What strings you usin on that LP? Sounds fucking sickk!
Hey thanks! The “not even slinky’s” I don’t really like them but thats what’s on here for the time being
@@xanderraymondcharles I use "not even slinky" for D standard on the Gibson scale, so you definitely need thicker strings for drop B.
@@xanderraymondcharles DAMN those are heavy lol. i cant go that heavy, max i can do is probably 11s. I usually just use 9s, 9.5 or 10s
Who wins in a head to head, Neural DSP Mesa Mk!!C+ or Otto Audio II II???
This plugin is right up there with Fortin Cali for me. All I can say is it’s a good thing today is my day off.
I like how it has the transpose effect/tool on there so you can down tune your standard scale 6 string to drop A (my favourite tuning) or whatever

Right on
What are your white monitors in the back there?
are those pinch harmonics? I have no idea how to do those things despite many attempts. Nice playing

The gojira plug-in is a monster, plus you can make a Pantera tone that sounds dead on with the Gojira.
Really cool riffs!!!!
Impressed

how do you 'transpose' to drop B from drop D?
I already have the Petrucci plugin. Wondering if this is any different or the same amp sim with a different skin?
It might be a bit different, would be cool to see a back to back comparison.
if you're satisfied with the petrucci plugin, I'd suggest skipping this one.
